Just saw on Sky News that there are reports of an explosion at an LA airport..?

They were saying that it had been shut due to a security breach..

I don't see it on CNN. Anyone else reporting this?

edit: it's not on their site, but I'm reading it right off my TV: "Reports: Explosion at Los Angeles Airport"

edit 2: it's on their site now, no details: http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30000-1150158,00.html

edit 3:

ok, apparently it was a torch in an x-ray machine that blew up. phew.

Confusing. The closure of the airport seems unrelated to this torch blowing up. It seemed to be coincidental. Wonder why the airport was shut?

I was constipated the other day... should I blame the terrorists on that too???

Hardeharhar :p I put a question mark beside my title, and posted this at a time when the news was literally breaking, and when it was very unclear what was happening. When you're seeing that there was a security breach, and then that there was an explosion, it's not hard to put two and two together (and I didn't, I simply wondered about the possibility)

MSNBC has said that injuries have been reported.

A torch blowing up would hardly cause much..damage/injury? I'm wondering if they mean a torch within the x-ray machine (presuming x-rays have torches/lights etc. as components) or a torch/flashlight going through the machine> In either case I'm not sure how it would cause injury..the explosion couldn't have been that big, could it..?

Hey, Pataki told us that box cutters were weapons of mass destruction at the RNC. Clearly... flashlights are WMDs too.

I think that he meant that the boxcutters were used to hijack the jets, turning them into weapons of mass destruction.

They've had a couple reports on CNN...two seperate incidents being investigated. Though the flashlight/explosion/injury one is being denied at the moment.

Linda Stouffer is a hottie BTW...

CNN said that 7 injuries were reported, but that Homeland Security disputes the claim of an explosion.

A separate incident about 30 minutes later shut down the airport's busy international terminal when a plastic flashlight exploded in the bag of a Japanese tourist about to board a Korean Air flight for Tokyo, Los Angeles Mayor Jim Hahn told a news conference.

Ahh, Japanese, always looking for trouble ;)
First someone writes "suicide bomb" now this...haha
