Im actually watching the season 4 finale on my rewatch too.

Season 4 definetly doesnt click with me, I just dont dig the storyline about the plane being on the bottom of the ocean and the freighter.

I start to love the season from Shape of things to come onwards though.

Also the season 4 finale is my least favourite too. Its very epic in scope but I dont know... its just feels off in some ways.

The flashfowards are definetly the worst flashes imo, but it was a breath of fresh air though.

And this is the reason why your contributions to the thread are not always appreciated by every poster.
Then again, it would be quite the feat if they were...

Point is, talking about those hacks' "mastery of storytelling" is akin to praising the depth and subtlety of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: I guess you could be more ridiculous, but it would take a certain amount of effort.

Wait a minute.

How do you know mccoy is white?!

Is there ever a revealed purpose for the hieroglyphics? There are some in the wheel room as well (which then begs the question, what is this place if there is a wheel that can move it? a machine?). The show seems to have a lot of Egyptian influences. Even something like the four-toed statue seemed very old-world. (30 minutes left for the 4th season finale).

Might aswell say it now, they dont go indepth into the egyptian stuff. Its just part of the history of the island.

They do explain where the wheel comes from though and its whole purpose in the grand scheme of things.

Also you havent seen the end of the four toed statue.

You got any ultimate theories ivysaur?

Like what you think is going on in the grand scheme of things?

I'm not sure how I feel about them all being dead, like Hurley suggests. There seems to be some sort of mystical aspect to the island, especially with Alpert. Maybe he's some sort of god? I don't know about Jacob either... there are just too many variables. I don't really have many theories at this point, unfortunately I guess :lol

Lets get one thing clear they are not all dead in purgatory, everything that is happening is real.

What do you think about the monster?

Seems like some sort of defense mechanism for the island, kind of like white blood cells.

And thank god everything is real :lol

EDIT: LOCKE GOT OFF THE ISLAND WHAT THE FUCK WHAT THE FUCK

EDIT 2: All finales were great, but:

Through the Looking Glass > There's No Place Like Home > Live Together, Die Alone > Exodus

Hey Ivysaur, what did you think of Giacchino's score in the Season 4 finale?

Its interesting that "Theres No Place Like Home" essentially became the series' main theme from that episode onwards.

That little bit at the end of Everybody Loves Hugo (where Jack and Locke meet)= GODLY.

Side note: My S6 BRD will be here tomorrow!!! Come on!!! Can't wait to rewatch the season.

Which is fine because it's a great piece!

Obviously - its one of my favs, right at the top with Parting Words, Life And Death, and Locke'd Out Again. I just found it interesting that a theme introduced in the tail end of the show became the major theme.

And I still maintain that the best arrangement of it is "Of Mice And Ben" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cvkHv-pO6M - such an epic arrangement with all the brass, and it accompanied the best montage in the entire series.

7 months after the series has ended, I've finally concluded that this is the single great composition of the entire series: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRYowiiAOhg

It somehow manages to simultaneously be the most melancholy and most hopeful thing I've ever heard, and the raft launch was a fucking beautiful scene.

Parting Words > No Place Like Home > Locke'd up again

All three are godly though.

Hey ivysaur.

You just got the answer to the polar bear by the way.

I don't understand? Where was that answered explicitly?

I just assumed that since the Hydra was a zoological facility and they said that bears where held there, that that's where they're from.

Solo said:
How ivysaur never had that spoiled for him is beyond me :lol :lol

Beyond flash-sideways, I knew nothing else from the start of season 4 out.

It was beautiful. Honestly amazing.

Lost is my favorite TV show of all time. I honestly wish it could have gone on forever. :(

Quick question, but was it the Emmys that totally snubbed its final season? It's a god damn sin against man that Lost wasn't stealing wins left and right.

Goddamit. I literally ordered S6 for...$35 a week ago. Does Amazon do price adjustments? I don't remember.

Edit: No, they don't :/.

I've heard people say they've ordered things from Amazon only to have the price go down a few days later... and they just emailed them, and Amazon refunded them the difference. Worth a try I suppose.

It was nominated, which was about as good as you could hope for.

Thats true aswell.

But remember there was a polar bear skeleton in tunisia?

Remember we saw Ben on his back in tunisia with a dharma coat on and with an injured arm?

Frozen Donkey wheel.

Put the pieces together.

Im could care less about lost not winning the emmys, but losing to 24 for soundtrack is just disgusting

Giacchino sucks though according to GAF, didn't you get the memo?

Ah, the internet. Only there can you learn that Giacchino's music for Lost is terrible, and that Bear McCreary is not only better, but a better composer than John Williams.

I lost so many brain cells just typing all of that horse shit.

And I still feel like there's something I'm missing, because I don't get it :lol

Polar Bears turned the donkey wheel, so no human casualty.

It ended up in tunisia like Ben, because thats the exit.

Thats why theres a skeleton of a polar bear in tunisia.

We saw Ben awake in tunisia a few episodes previous to the finale, thats cleary the second after Ben turned the wheel.

Mind blown? :D

The polar bears were trained to turn the wheel- strong enough to move it and they can stand the cold. The proof is Charlotte finding the polar bear corpse in Albania with the Dharma collar- it transported there and died after turning the wheel.

Wait, the Polar Bear confusion is real? I thought it was a joke about how people miss obvious things in the show and then get all confused. That Polar Bear in the desert scene is so awesome. Like Jurassic Park!

Oh well. Did you also know the Hatch is from the Dharma Initiative?

Wait, what? That's the first I've heard of that. How could anyone say a bad thing about Giacchino? smh
