Jesus.
lol

That was all I expected it to be. Yeah, I still have a lot of unanswered questions. But in the end, I'm not sure if it matters. A little heavy on the "awakenings", but in general, very poetic. Bravo.

Awhile ago, I mentioned that a friend of mine started watching the show, and she finished it this week.

She loved it, and loved the ending, but the flashsideways/Christian talk totally went over her head. Alot of stuff did :lol .

I've only rewatched LAX Pt1, I'll get back to it soon as I can. Been working so much recently...

I'm thrilled you enjoyed it, man. Did you cry?

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. I also thought it was a great conclusion.

Awesome to hear you enjoyed the ride. :D
Trust me, you'll be feeling the effects for a while.

it seems you were ready to understand. bravo.

Great impressions, ivy... It's so fun listening to people's impressions.

The way you laid them out reminded me of SOLO in his less whiny days.

Unless I'm missing something was it ever made clear why Widmore brought Desmond to the island? Did he know the effect that the electromagnetic blasts had on Desmond (sending him temporarily to the afterlife)?

It's my understanding that Widmore knew that in order to get whatever was in the cave, he'd need someone who could withstand the energy.

Decent storytelling is so overrated.

I'd prefer for the show creators to focus on what made the series more great in the first place (the characters and their relationships) than reading off a list of answers to every nuanced question. Cause at the end of the day, it probably still isn't going to fit as well as you'd like and you'd still be disappointed.

And anyways, that was never the point of the show :lol

aaand ivaysaur's conversion to the dark side is complete.

Just kidding.

Oh, I wasn't just thinking of the mysteries when I said that: the writing sucked all around.

Because there would be no other way? :lol

It seems the point of the show was to make money off random nonsense. It apparently succeeded.

Ok, sweet dude. I'm not even going to get into this. I'm sorry you didn't like the show.

Now that you've enjoyed the show, you can learn to put Erigu on your ignore list, because this never ends.

Glad you enjoyed it, ivysaur :)

Your official hazing is complete. You passed with flying colors.

Yep, you're now on our side ivy, so Erigu can be on your ignore list.
Somehow, he's simultaneously one of the most passionate and most negative fans of Lost ever :lol

Glad you liked it Ivysaur. Unfortunately, I did not, as explained a lot before, but not as much as Erigu. At least Erigu explains why he didn't like something as opposed to many on GAF that would be like "Lost sux! LOL!" then leave.

The explanation is fine, it's just that he never stops explaining.

Erigu said:
And Lost fans aren't used to explanations. They burn. :lol

Did you really just lump and entire fanbase into one category because you dislike the show and happen to get into a e-spat with someone? What is this, a chat room from some fansite in the early interwebs? Grow up, guys.

That's his thing! He's raging against the collective opinion of an audience he's invented.

I'm currently writing up my thoughts on the series. I should be finished with them sometime tomorrow and I hopefully can share them with you all.

Best show ever. #1 fan right here, which is why don't even bother with these debates. I just stop in here happy to see new people checking out the show, and ignore all the haters.

Same here. No point in trying to change someones opinion. Especially if they care enough to keep bashing the show.

Since I got the season 6 DVD recently, I've started my re-watch of the season. Just finished Sundown, totally epic ending. I'm definitely appreciating things more the second time through, especially the flash sideways since I now know what it is. Good stuff.

By he way, I bought Hurleys Season 2 backpack. (He wears it in the season 2 finale my fav episode) I'll take some pics and post if anyone is interested.

Awesome, you bought it in the Auction?
How much did that run you?

Hmm....what prop from the show would you guys like to own?

Chose one, and keep it reasonable! Not a whole set, for example.

It'd be pretty cool to have the letter that John wrote to Jack, I think.

I want to thank the entire LOST-GAF community for listening to my experiences these past three weeks. I've just finished writing a brief (1500 word) look back on the show. If you'd take a look at it, I'd really appreciate it. Again, thank you guys a lot for everything. I hope to do the same with some Lost newbie sometime in the future.

This was a really good read ivy.

A related endorsement: You should all watch Rob Reiner's Flipped. It didn't get a wide release. It's a simple movie about two junior high kids and their romantic (?) relationship. It doesn't break new ground, but it's plainly a really well made and happy movie. Well worth 90 minutes of time. It's in Redbox and On Demand and Amazon now. I mention it because the starring female role is played by the same girl who played Annie.

The fact that you still post in this thread suggest that you have a propensity for self-torture.
Erigu's overextended stay seem to imply he has mod's on his christmas list or something.

Heh. Yeah, 'cause I don't present arguments or anything like that, right?

'Care to develop that "science vs. faith" dealio, for example?
Yeah, that was such a fascinating "theme". Just like in the X Files. By the way, I didn't watch the last episodes of that show, could someone tell me who was right after all? Mulder or Scully?
That's idiotic. You could tell supernatural elements existed from the very first episode. When the writers still go on about "science vs. faith" years later, it only means one thing: that they somehow kept their skeptic characters utterly oblivious to what was going on around them for so long. That's not a good thing.
And then, ivysaur12 celebrates the victory of faith and equates science with cynicism. I think I threw up a bit in my mouth.

And the praise character development gets... You've got to be kidding.
Was there even one major character arc that actually made sense, on the show? Please explain.

Been watching from s1e1 all over again over the past few days. I'm at the hatch part right now. Never noticed that, but every single time the camera points at the countdown timer (well when the alarm's not ringing) it's 47-46 mins left. S'up with that xD

Anyway, as I feared, it's not really anywhere as good for me on the second viewing. There's way too many flashbacks and most of them are quite boring. Something I didn't feel during first viewing. I guess knowing what's gonna happen
and the awful ending
doesn't help.

Yeah to be honest I can't imagine myself being able to sit through all the flashbacks in the earlier seasons again... I often skipped them on repeat viewings.
