"The network has agreed" Yeah, right, wouldn't want to make too much money that night. I'm sure the producers had to fight tooth and nails in long, rude and painful negociations with ABC executives to get another half hour.LiK said:LOST FINALE EXTENDED BY 30 MINUTES!!!! WOOO!

As long as there's actual material to show for it and it doesn't mean an increased ad proportion...why would they even still be considering it this late in the game? I thought the finale was already in post-production...

Edit: Since the article says post-prod is actually done, that would probably mean that it's basically being expanded to avoid cutting too many ads from the 2-hour slot because there's too much stuff. 30 minutes of additional ads, yay! :/
omg rite said:Highly doubt that.
Not no ads, obviously, but fewer ads than on a normal episode. I don't blame them for it, they're a business and need to make money, and that's okay. I'm just saying that it may not be OMGWTF AMAZING-worthy news from a fan standpoint, since no matter if they had extended it or not we'd have gotten the same material (because said material has already been complete for a while), just with fewer ads. In the end, it's still the finale as planned and the 30-minute extension doesn't actually increase the show's time. They're not going back and adding stuff, just adjusting the time slot to add advertisements according to the finale's running time.BenjaminBirdie said:It's also faulty logic, implicit in that thinking is that the original two hours would have had no ads.
Random flash-sideways of Kate taking a dump for 10 minutes, followed by Jack shaving his beard for another 10 and Hurley, just...eating for the rest of the time.thekad said:ABC: Shit! We booked too many ads! Quick, call Darlton and tell them to film more flash-sideways!
Lost will no longer be showing promos for the following week's episode, for example. That's why details of new episodes will be bare-bones from now on.
As Cuse explained: "Our feeling is that most people do not really want to see a bunch of scenes from upcoming episodes, that the joy of Lost is approaching it cold, with the mysteries of the show washing over you."
Lost is all about maintaining dread and suspense.
woodchuck said:i hope this doesn't also include the sneak peeks. it always feels like christmas when we get an early scene from the next episode
Next Week Is Unlike Anything You've Seen on Lost Before. Swear. And though we've all been told that none of the series regulars appear, that is actually not true. Spoiler Alert: You will see three of the main leads in a very surprising throwback moment that lets you know that the producers totally knew what they were doing as of season one. (Boo-ya!) Allison Janney guest stars, along with two other actors you know, and a few others you don't. You'll learn much much more about the history of the island and the evil, and light, within. Pay close attention to every line Allison's character says and every line (or lack thereof) on her face. Oh, and DVR it. 'Cause you'll need to watch it twice.
Dead said:whoa, wonder what that scene with the 3 characters ia about
On.omg rite said:Hey, were those Lapidus scenes you're talking about on island or off island?
Dead said:On.the report said he was spotted with Miles and Claire on the beach
This is unconfirmed until airing obviously, but the other scene descriptions in the report seem 100% accurate based on what happened at the end of the latest episode.

That doesn't apply to info taken from fucking set pics.omg rite said:If you don't want to be spoiled, don't come into the spoiler thread.
And just because I love making you look silly, allow me to quote you, the person who created this thread, in the first post:
I followed your rules, dummy.
Costanza said:That doesn't apply to info taken from fucking set pics.
Dead said:Jesus, just spoiler tag your post.
Only reason I posted that here, is that its not Major, is related to casting, and many people were thinking it already.
I didn't care about that spoiler, I would've highlighted it. But there are people who do so I was asking you to tag it before they see it.omg rite said:Oh stop whining. It's a spoiler thread. Do you realize how ridiculous it is to have minor and major spoiler threads? Some people consider different things to be minor or major.
You're the guy asking people to PM HIM SERIES FINALE SPOILERS. Simple: don't go into a spoiler thread if you want to avoid spoilers.
Edited it, just for you. But you really have no idea how silly it is to have a thread where people basically decide how big a spoiler is and whether it goes in this one or another thread. Spoilers are spoilers, and you've been seen here asking for big ones.
You're completely in the wrong on this one.omg rite said:Oh stop whining. It's a spoiler thread. Do you realize how ridiculous it is to have minor and major spoiler threads? Some people consider different things to be minor or major.

I think you're the one being an asshole, asshole.omg rite said:Except you called me an idiot for following your directions. Don't be an asshole about it.
TheGreatDave said:Because casting info is for things like, say, guest stars. It's not a case of post openly that a character who's fate we're unsure of survives, and you're not an idiot who can't understand the difference.
then why the fuck did you argue it at all? just tag and move onomg rite said:Well, whatever. I already edited it. Either way, if you don't want to risk being spoiled, you simply should not be in here. I rarely am the one to post the spoilers here, so I saw "you don't need to spoiler tag" and followed the rules. But whatever, stupid to argue about.
Costanza said:then why the fuck did you argue it at all? just tag and move on

LOSTSenet may be the oldest board game in the world. It has been found in Predynastic and First Dynasty burials of Egypt,[2] circa 3500 BC and 3100 BC respectively. Senet is also featured in a painting from the tomb of Merknera (33002700 BC) (see external links below). Another painting of this ancient game is from the Third Dynasty tomb of Hesy (c. 26862613 BC). It is also depicted in a painting in the tomb of Rashepes (c. 2500 BC).
By the time of the New Kingdom in Egypt (15671085 BC), it had become a kind of talisman for the journey of the dead. Because of the element of luck in the game and the Egyptian belief in determinism, it was believed that a successful player was under the protection of the major gods of the national pantheon: Ra, Thoth, and sometimes Osiris. Consequently, Senet boards were often placed in the grave alongside other useful objects for the dangerous journey through the afterlife and the game is referred to in Chapter XVII of the Book of the Dead. The game was also adopted in the Levant and as far as Cyprus and Crete but with apparently less religious significance.
Huge murakami fan. And i didn't see that connection until you posted this, make's me wanna re-read the wind up bird chronicles right now.:lolSpeedingUptoStop said:Yea, another well. I've recently finished reading The Wind Up Bird Chronicles, and the similarities beginning to arise between characters and wells and characters getting left in wells whom also happen to have transferred into another state of reality...it's getting a little weird.
Shit, I'm working on a poster board right now for class where I have to literally draw connections between all of the characters....it's Lostian, in a way.:lol Both are keeping me up late tonight.
If Des emerges from that well with a blue mark on his face, you know we'll be in for some fucked up, inexplicable shit!Lafiel said:Huge murakami fan. And i didn't see that connection until you posted this, make's me wanna re-read the wind up bird chronicles right now.:lol
