"The network has agreed" Yeah, right, wouldn't want to make too much money that night. I'm sure the producers had to fight tooth and nails in long, rude and painful negociations with ABC executives to get another half hour.

As long as there's actual material to show for it and it doesn't mean an increased ad proportion...why would they even still be considering it this late in the game? I thought the finale was already in post-production...

Edit: Since the article says post-prod is actually done, that would probably mean that it's basically being expanded to avoid cutting too many ads from the 2-hour slot because there's too much stuff. 30 minutes of additional ads, yay! :/

They knew before today obviously, but they were just waiting to officially announce it. This happened with the S4 finale as well (after filming it was extended to a third hour.)

Giachhino has ~2 weeks to score it. He better be getting more than the usual 4 hours/"episode"!

Huh? That's when they would notice that they need more time: there were things they just didn't want to cut.

Not no ads, obviously, but fewer ads than on a normal episode. I don't blame them for it, they're a business and need to make money, and that's okay. I'm just saying that it may not be OMGWTF AMAZING-worthy news from a fan standpoint, since no matter if they had extended it or not we'd have gotten the same material (because said material has already been complete for a while), just with fewer ads. In the end, it's still the finale as planned and the 30-minute extension doesn't actually increase the show's time. They're not going back and adding stuff, just adjusting the time slot to add advertisements according to the finale's running time.

Lost will no longer be showing promos for the following week's episode, for example. That's why details of new episodes will be bare-bones from now on.

As Cuse explained: "Our feeling is that most people do not really want to see a bunch of scenes from upcoming episodes, that the joy of Lost is approaching it cold, with the mysteries of the show washing over you."

Lost is all about maintaining dread and suspense.

Considering next week's episode is supposed to take place in a time we rarely, if ever, see on TV, I would doubt we'll get any sneak peaks unless it's from the opening before the flashback begins.

On that note, from E! Online:

the report said he was spotted with Miles and Claire on the beach

This is unconfirmed until airing obviously, but the other scene descriptions in the report seem 100% accurate based on what happened at the end of the latest episode.

You're the guy asking people to PM HIM SERIES FINALE SPOILERS. Simple: don't go into a spoiler thread if you want to avoid spoilers.

How am I in the wrong for going to the OP to check first, seeing that casting spoilers go here, and then seeing that we don't HAVE to spoiler tag them? That's what the OP said, so that's what I did.

Can't have it both ways. It's a spoiler thread. I followed the directions. If you come in here and get spoiled, it's on you. Christ.

Heres a good guide to posting spoilers

If youre quoting a post that is in spoiler brackets...then I dont think its a stretch to simply reply in brackets.

its better to be safe than sorry.

Well, whatever. I already edited it. Either way, if you don't want to risk being spoiled, you simply should not be in here. I rarely am the one to post the spoilers here, so I saw "you don't need to spoiler tag" and followed the rules. But whatever, stupid to argue about.

- MIB is wearing the Dagger from Sundown and Ab Aeterno on his belt. (Considering how innefective that Knife was, Im surprised we continue to see it appear as if it truly does have some significance)

- The game they are playing appears to be "Senet"

Senet may be the oldest board game in the world. It has been found in Predynastic and First Dynasty burials of Egypt,[2] circa 3500 BC and 3100 BC respectively. Senet is also featured in a painting from the tomb of Merknera (3300–2700 BC) (see external links below). Another painting of this ancient game is from the Third Dynasty tomb of Hesy (c. 2686–2613 BC). It is also depicted in a painting in the tomb of Rashepes (c. 2500 BC).

Yea, another well. I've recently finished reading The Wind Up Bird Chronicles, and the similarities beginning to arise between characters and wells and characters getting left in wells whom also happen to have transferred into another state of reality...it's getting a little weird.


Shit, I'm working on a poster board right now for class where I have to literally draw connections between all of the characters....it's Lostian, in a way.:lol Both are keeping me up late tonight.
