I wasn't going to go achievement hunting, I've done that in other games and other than collecting medicine bottles (which is actually fun) I just wanted to play the bare bones, every main mission, and the way the great circle plays it's so successful because there's so many routes you can take to a mission and I'll dive in below.

Indiana jones I never found boring or repulsive, Harrison Ford first of all really nice CG here, I remember watching the Indiana movies on DVD when I was young growing up you know with an uncle and cousins, and this story of the great circle steals from those traditional movies mindsets, with Indy focusing on capturing an artifact in temples, with traps but also living through the Nazi regime, really good side characters like the classic Bond (Indy?) girl, in sweetheart Gina, and really great villain in Voss it's a really good game overall and if you have Xbox game pass you should check it out for an original story.

86 I think is fair, kinda want to give it a 90.

Just walking around nazi camps disguised is enjoyable, the gameplay is first person now (N64 third person), walking around places like the Vatican in Italy, with its memorable atmosphere, pyramids in Egypt, or jungles in Asia.

It's a very structured game start to finish, with wild moments like these below:

The moments just keep coming. At the end I thought the game was due for a big boss battle, but than it the game reminds you it's just a crazy first person adventure game and its format is simple, here's a fist fight.

When the DLC arrives I'd like to play it, what did GAF think of the great circle now that the dust have settled?

I'm having a great time with game pass, doom dark ages, Indiana jones the great circle, and was critical of it in the beginning.

Was my GOTY. Was such a shame that it wasn't eligible at the TGA. Rewatched all the movies too before playing the game. I'm a huge fan of Indy, quite possibly my favorite movie hero of all time.
And Troy Baker WAS Harrison Ford! 👌👏

Lots of great games on GP. The Alters is really good. I played Indiana Jones and really enjoyed the story and gameplay. I thought the story would make a great movie.

Machine games didn't let me down. I had a healthy amount of skepticism as I was worried It was going to be a shooter with an Indiana Jones skin. I have used a firearm maybe twice, and I am at the 5th location. They really nailed it, and I struggled to think of how they could have done better with this IP.

In saying that, there are a few misses. I won't spoil anything, but that on rails section where you're defending an attack was very frustrating. I would take out the pursuer and then randomly fall through the floor of the vehicle and die. This happened a handful of times in succession.

Loved the first half. Didn't care for the boat section or the big ending. Vatican area was amazing though.
Vatican area was like top 5 best map designs ever. Gizeh was a letdown for me. I really liked the rest, even the slow areas in the end. And the spooky weird school area was pure awesomeness in design.

I never attempted to 100% it, maybe got 2/3rd of the achievements. I think I would've been burned out from 100-percenting it, there was far too much collecting stuff at times. I finished it at the perfect time without having any wish to step over the finish line.

I really wanted the game to continue the depth it had in the Vatican area every where else in the game. I think if it had ended at the Vatican then it would have been more satisfying. I'd rather a game progress in scope than have the very best part done early, if that makes sense. But overall, thought it was very good.

The boat section and even the jungle map sucked. Both of which were towards the end, and left on a low note. Ironically, the Vatican was the intro to the game and was definitely the high note.

I think the game overstayed it's welcome to some extent (mainly the repetitive side quests), and combat could have been more fleshed out.

It an enjoyable experience, but I can't see playing through it again given the gameplay just isn't tight enough.

I almost never replay games so for me it was great where it stopped, especially since I skipped the collectathon to get 100%.

I think I'll struggle to go back for the expansion. They need to add something more to it imo, a story twist or a new mode or some new gfx tech or something. The story is already done for me. Anybody know, can you play the expansion stand alone or is it woven into the main campaign?

Not crazy about this game but I did 100% it since a couple of my friends did the same and it was fun discussing it. About 40 hours. Was less impressed with the Vatican tham most, felt like a wannabe Hitman level but lacked flair and ended up frustrating to navigate. Giza was probably the highlight.

Story and writing were dull and forgettable. Fun for those who are happy with a Force Awakens-style montage of callbacks and rehashed moments, but the isn't a single original idea in the game. I'm still a little surprised that people are so positive on the storytelling and plot. The biggest bummer with Indy after Temple is that Spielberg etc. pussied out and flanderized Indy into what he became in Last Crusade and Great Circle. Guy who punches Nazis in the desert and searches for judeo-christian artifacts Great Circle has none of the excitement or edge of Raiders, let alone Temple. Still has that MachineGames writing stink all over it despite not being as overtly abysmal as their unfortunate Wolfenstein games.

Most people have extremely low standards for products like this that hit the right nostalgia beats and have a high enough production value, but something like Crystal Skull was a much better and more interesting project overall.

Yeah I'm not jumping up and down to replay this or anything but in today's most crappy games super micro transactions environment I generally appreciated even the dull combat system, crappy weapon backpack wheel, boring collecting sections compared to the likes of Concord, and yes I'm looking at you Marathon.

Who knew it would end up being better than the latest Indy movie, which is exactly like how the Robocop game ended up being better than any of the movie entries from 1993-2014

As an Indiana Jones glazer i loved the game for the vibe/feel/Story and it just being freaking an Indiana Jones game.
I found the overall combat and stealth to be really meh.

Overall a 7-8 for me.
Sukhothai was a chore.

Traveling around by boat was a major fuck up

Sukhotai haters: didn't play it correctly I guess.

One of the most dense and complex map. So much to find and explore.

Just give up on boat if that is bothersome. I took a lot of swims, combing islands one after the other.
