I can't believe they're going to waste all their hype by not allowing physical preorders. Insane.
For real, there's been a few times in the past few months when I was putting together game orders and thought "Oh yeah, Lunar is coming out soon I'll add that" then realized that they're not doing pre-orders. Hopefully I can get a physical copy secured, but if not I probably won't bother with this one. Somehow their reassurances of "trust me, there will be enough to go around" ring a bit hollow, when we all know this is very likely to have a limited number of copies printed.

1. I'm apprehensive of how a redone boat song is 2. Posting here so someone can tell me when I can place an order so I don't have to check as often.

For those that pick it up on release, please lemme know if they fixed the sprinting so that it's not done in bursts anymore, and that you can just hold the sprint button rather than having to tap it every 3 seconds.

Cannot wait for contemporary gamers to give these a try.

"My favorite battle system in ANY jrpg" sure it is...sure it is.

I still have my ps1 copies and a copies of the saturn version (,....wait that one was JP I think. Sega CD was the eng version) and a few that came out along the way ( a DS version I think). These games were very difficult back in the day, no way am I going to play through these again.

I'll pick up physical copy if I can snag it...but as far as revisiting these "gem's"...nah dawg I'm good.

I played Silver Star Story a few years back and found it to be underwhelming across the board. Also wasn't a fan of how much grinding was required. Like the poster above me said, I wouldn't ever replay it. I don't think the game is deserving of the praise it gets.

I'm curious about Eternal Blue though. Specifically if it has a more interesting storyline and requires as much grinding.

Loved these games growing up but I would never replay them. They are one and doners.

I never rolled credits on lunar 2, but never felt compelled to do so.

Has there been a review that details what has changed? Game mechanics, script, songs, VOs etc? What version of Lunar is this based on and what's in this version? I'd like to know.

Really enjoyed both games as a kid. Wasn't much around that blended JRPG with anime like Lunar did.
Working Designs was the go to for that sort of presentation/content. Because of their packaging/quality I always held them up as a top tier publisher...I didn't know anything about the industry at the time outside of being a kid that loved games. If anything they contributed to my debilitating addition to collector editions.

Magic Knight Rayearth had a similar feeling to me that Lunar did, obv it cribbed in game video and bumpers from the anime/manga.

Never played the original when I had a Saturn or PlayStation. By the time I got around to caring about trying them the prices were too high. Time went on and then I stopped wanting it at all.

I did beat the psp version of Lunar though, still have it but I did not think it was great.

I'm considering this for Lunar 2 though.

These two games have been on the to-do list for a long time since I never played them growing up. Great to see them finally be accessible outside of $100+ pre-owned copies.

All-time classics, the package that released on PS1 with the smelly map is - to this day - one of the greatest bundles of joy gaming has ever seen. I will be picking this up once there is a physical release in Japan 👌

Fighting through the darkness
All is evil
Still, we must press on.
When all the land is peaceful,
and there is no notes you were supposed to last,
There comes a time for love,
Two hearts colliding into one within him,

We must never forget the original OST!

I remember this game stood out at game stores because the box was so big. Also came with an awesome hardcover manual. If you were into JRPGs at the time, you had to have played this one. I prefer the PS1 version because that's how I learned about Lunar. Sadly I sold both my copies I had purchased brand new. One of my biggest regrets, but I'm not paying $200 for it. lol I'll happily take this the iOS/tablet port and that watered down PSP port.

My Switch copy from Amazon UK shipped and I'm waiting for the Steam game to unlock. I was impatient and bought it from the UK.

"healing nut! This might come on handy!"

Is the screenshot I would have like to post, but it's not working for some reason.

I just hope they don't wreck the game like most other rebakes.

I thought I read that they were going with the WD tranlsation. And there's no voices in this release? No "By the power of Althena"?
Game has voices and songs, they've just been redone.

Silver Star is incredible, one of my favorite jrpgs ever. The game manages to be so damn charming, in spite of how simple the characters and story are. The villain is one the best out there too. EB I wasn't as big on though.

That said, not sure if I'll get this version. I still have harmony for psp, and I actually really liked those voice actors, plus the reduced difficulty. Hearing that this remastered version contains the old grindy difficulty kind of hurts my interest.

Based on the Ps1 version. New VO. Game mechanics are the same with an added battle speed option. Also can share inventory between characters.

It's based on the PS1 version which had many changes and enhancements over the Sega CD original.

Sadly the ditched the awesome soundtrack from the Sega CD version (which used redbook audio) in favor a totally new soundtrack that used the PS1 sound chip.

If not for the music downgrade IMO the PS1 version would be the clear winner. I really hope we can mod it into the PC version

OST playlist is here:

Silver Star Story Touch has x4 multipliers on exp. That helps decrease a lot of the long grind.

I was playing this on a Kindle Fire 11 and with the 4x exp boost, Auto-battle set, and fast battles. Getting through the first couple areas was super quick. I don't get the complaint about the grind. There's far worse offenders out there.

Will this version have x4 Exp multiplier? I thought it only had 'faster battle speedup options' but that's not the same thing.

Good question. I don't know. I haven't spent any time checking the reviews. The Pixel Remastered versions of Final Fantasy had a similar feature. It makes tons of old school RPGs a lot more accessible. I don't have a concrete answer until this collection launches.

Here is a screenshot of what it looks like on SSST.

A bit jealous, still so lame that USA can't order ahead.
