M.2 PS5 to M.2 PS5 Pro?

Anyone know the quickest way to copy my entire library (most of which is on the extra m.2 drive) and paste/transfer it to the m.2 slot on my ps5 pro?

From what I understand you cannot select the m.2 slot just the stock ps5 ssd?

Am I just SOL and must download the entire library that is on my M.2?

EDIT: Sorry should have been clearer I’m trying to KEEP the base m.2 installed so I can run 2 ps5s one for me one for my son

I had the same question but you can (apperently) just swam it between devices. So remove it from your PS5 and put it in your PS5 Pro after you are done setting up the PS5 Pro.

just move the SSD to thew new console and it will works along all installed games, then, you can transfer the internal data using the network transfer feature.

I logged on to my Pro, set it up. Then stuck the M2 from my PS5 into the Pro and it just worked.

Yeah problem is I want to KEEP my base m.2 in it and run 2 ps5s in my house damn kid keeps taking my gaming time

You can't copy and have the same games on two ps5s.

If sony allowed that. Ebay would be full of m2 drives full of games people could buy without paying for the individual games.

I simply moved everything important/urgent to my M.2 over the last week and put it in before even turning it in.

Booted up and was instantly good once it synced my saves.

They wouldn't be able to play them, though. They're still locked to the PSN account. You can certainly download the same game to two PS5's. I have two PS5's and the cloud saves sync between them, so I can start playing in one room and pick right up where I left off in another.

So, I rather just login to PS+ and re-download. What is the best way to move the trophy videos and pics (user data) I guess?

This is what I did/am going to do when I get home. Already have my M.2 ready to swap.

yes you can, as long as both console have the same PSN account on it (which make your ebay statement true, obviously)

Honestly - the data transfer takes so long that I ended up my cancelling and redownloading what I wanted. Somehow, that was faster.

I didn't even bother to turn on the Pro first. I just put the drive right in it.

I cry about Xbox and hate PlayStation.
I just swap the m2 , setup disc drive and then proceed to initial setup my pro .
No issues.

Can you swap a USB extended storage drive to another console simply enough too? I vaguely remember it being tied to a specific console during the PS4 days. Could be talking crap tho.

I might actually pick a pro up if I can simply remove my m.2 and my USB drive (which is full of about 4TB of PS4 games) from my PS5 and throw it in the new Pro.

You can do exactly that.

Yes I did that with my “old” ps4 library

I ended up giving up and am now redownloading my entire ps5 library

Wiped my base ps5 drive swapped it out from a 2 tb m.2 to a 4TB so I’m going to have to download my entire ps5 library TWICE
