Haha this is so awesome, I click on the iCloud button on Safari on my Air and the tabs I currently have open on my iMac upstairs are all available.

They have switched to retina. On the Beta and Dev channels, at least. I'd recommend switching to one of those (I pretty much always install the Beta channel on a computer when install Chrome, I like it more than stable).

Unfortunately I use my browser for work and have to use stable released version. Or else yea, I'd be all over that beta/canary.

God damn Safari is good now.

Wow.

See, when I first started using it I thought it was just my imagination. Glad to see it wasn't (unless it's just everyone else's imagination as well O_O). I've been going back and forth between it and Chrome and it is noticeably faster to me.

I hope there's an update that supports push email or something. I'd rather not have mail up all the time anymore if I can help it.

Still waiting for my code. This is a ridiculous regression considering that customers didn't go through this nonsense last year. I wouldn't even expect this behavior from Microsoft, and yet Apple is making us jump through hoops for a $20 update. Ugh

Currently upgrading about 20 minutes left. Fingers crossed nothing bad happens

Bad side to this whole situation, I stil have to buy another copy for my iMac in a few days.

Is there a Google Voice thing that will throw notifications to Growl (which I'll then push to NC with Hiss)? With Messages on OSX now, Google Voice doing the same thing would be a great complement.

All installed.

First speed bump in the road: Google Drive freaked the fuck out when I logged in. It said my Google Drive folder was missing. It was not. It refused to connect and use the folder that it had used all this time. I had to disconnect from GD, delete everything in the folder, reconnect, and have it download all the files again.

Why, Google? Oh well.

Am looking for more speedbumps.

And yep. This is build 12A269. Same as the GM was. Guess there were no show-stopping bugs. Good.

Just updated and LOVING IT. One thing, is iCloud syncing not working? Seems like my notes, reminders, cal, all are not syncing via icloud. Weird.

It's now been ten hours since I applied for my code. Even if these were all being individually processed by a group of people, I can't believe I haven't received it by now.

Make sure you have it enabled on both your iOS device and in iCloud preferences. As long as it's the same user ID.

I caved and bought Mountain Lion on the MAS. Then I emailed iTunes support and bitched about having to wait. They refunded my $19.99.

Still waiting on my code! But I've got ML installed now. :)

I can't seem to get Notes added to my iCloud account. When I try, it asks for a .me email address even though I already have an existing iCloud address.

Also, tab synching doesn't work. I click the button and I just get a box saying that iCloud tab synching lets me sync tabs...

HALP

Do you like throwing away money? You are legally entitled to install ML on as many machines as you own or use.

WTF?

MY bootable usb stick doesn't want to work on my MBP.

Did you mount the DMG when you created the boot disk?

On Lion, you didn't need to mount it. For ML, you have to open the DMG, and it opens a Mac OS X Install ESD" volume. THAT is what you burn/copy.

MOUNT the .dmg AFTER you drag it over into Disk Utility by selecting the dmg file and clicking the "Open" button at the top of Disk Utility, and burn/copy over the mounted file that shows up called Mac OS X Install ESD, not the .dmg file itself.

On Lion, you did not need to mount the .dmg file to complete the bootable copy process, so yes, this is different and new.

If you don't, at the end of the copy, you'll get an error stating "Could not restore – Invalid argument". Some sites, like Ars Technica, say this doesn't matter. I think it's BS, took me about 4 tries to get it to work after I stopped following their guide and mounted the dmg, and burned/copied the Mac OS X Install ESD volume that showed up.

The one thing that actually makes me not wanting to switch to Safari is the bookmarks syncing across devices. Have to save double bookmarks now, because I don't want the mobile version of Youtube on the desktop, for instance.

It's still really fast tho, and this is a relatively old Mac.

Assigning the notification pane to the very top corner F-key makes it so much more usable and intuitive to me.

My iPhone is no longer recognized in iTunes. I can't Wi-Fi sync from the phone, either.

Any suggestions?

FWIW, my iPad still shows up in iTunes.

Something I've been meaning to rant about is how websites are treating their mobile sites in this day and age of syncing between device and computer.

NeoGAF does it right. It does it well. If you visit www on your phone or tablet, it redirects to the mobile site without problem. If you reopen a mobile version on your desktop, ZOOM! Back to the full desktop version you go. It's seamless and problem free....

But if you go to YouTune on your mobile device, it redirects to the mobile site, but if you link someone to a mobile YouTune page, it STAYS as mobile! And forces you to switch back to the full site. Why? What good reason is there to not automatically switch back? This shit should be 100% seamless in this day and age of link sharing and bookmark syncing. It's inacceptable that it isn't.

So I've figured out how to enable Notes for iCloud on my Mac - apparently it was syncing with Gmail Notes (which I didn't even know exists).

Unfortunately I can't figure out how to disable it on my phone so my Mac changes show up there too. When I check the Gmail Exchange account, I only see "Mail" (on) and Contacts, Calendars, and Reminders (off), not Notes.

:-(

BTW I don't think it's just some placebo effect, Safari is fast as shit now!

I'm loving notification center for shared calendars - it's great to get a little pop-up alert when someone you share a calendar with adds an event or reminder. I also like how Calendar shows you events added since you last opened it, and gives you a grid calendar when dating events. It's all the little things that add up.

I find it easier to just swipe.
On a laptop sure but on a desktop Mac where you may not have that option it's a great alternative.

Do they still make the top-right key on wireless keyboards an eject button? They should totally just make that the new Notifications key with an icon and all since disc drives are growing extinct...

And I'm like Gary, F19in' it.

Chrome suddenly has shadows when searching in Google. I'm using latest chrome beta. Anyone else having this issue?

I won't be surprised if a keyboard comes out with a dictation button.
