What's forbidden is campaigning: propaganda for either candidate that could have an influence on voting.
So yeah, the media can still report about current events, they just have to be careful about it.

Le Figaro has a story about an attack on En Marche! in Lyon yesterday evening by far right activists
French HuffPost has an article about how MLP's campaign spent its last day propagating fake news (I had missed some lol)
Liberation has an article about how the leak propagated between 4chan, Wikileaks, the fachosphère and FN officials.

I was on a media blackout these last few days because of work so I just found out about this. What a crazy turn of events but some Russian fuckery was expected I guess. Glad to see that this doesn't seem to have that much traction so far. Let's hope everything goes smoothly tomorrow.
This is important, we need to increase sanctions against Russia as the present ones clearly aren't enough.

While probably impossible to accomplish and not a good idea as not all of Russia is evil, it would be interesting to see how many /Pol, r/the_cockholster users, and Twitter bots would suddenly stop posting if we would manage to simply ban russian ips from accessing these sites.

Macron was Hollande's economic adviser as well as Minister of the Economy, he was one of the most important member of the soon to be former PS government. It's pretty easy to see why a lot of the PS member more on the center would run with him, Especially when Hamon was a frondeur. They didn't side with Mélenchon because he's way to extreme in his foreign policy as well as with the Europe.
It's really not though.
Le Pen is doing worse then what we thought so it's really not the same situation. She was the favorite at the start of the campaign and always a threat whereas Brexit and Trump were either more close or a complete surprise.

I have no social network account. I imagine that people will be flooded by fake news that will be "legitimized" by the leak and its acknowledgement by macron's team.
Though the number is growing, we don't have as many deplorable people in France.
