thank god my real life fantasy draft takes place in about 10 mins. this is the calm before the pending DM-Zep post game storm which i have already heard about (game is still going on now).

You were on my 45 on 4th and 4, you were up 6-3 and you were in punt formation (I was in 4-3 because the god damn 7 sec play clock went out before i could get to punt return, and even so why the hell would the game give me the 4-3 on 4th down!?) Then you call timeout, and go to a 4 wide play and hit me with a quick slant for a first down. The drive ends up being a TD drive.
Im looking at the rules and I still dont see where this is ok. All I see for the 3rd quarter is:

Eh. If it is 3rd Quarter and there's 5 to go, it's not too bad. Plus it wasn't like he was winning by 30.
In myself and Daw's game this evening, I went for it on 4th & inches on his 39-yard line. I wasn't sure if it was allowed, but we both assumed it was okay. That drive did stall, and it was 4th & inches again, but this time I just went for the FG.

Listen, I understand it wasnt in the rules per se and I'll own up to not knowing the rule for field position but seriously that play turned no tide of the game...Just let everyone know you gave up on the GL TD there after you stopped me on the GL in the 1st half(and could've again)

Speaking of the rules, what's the consensus on gambling in slightly closer territory. Say, for example, the 35 yard line. Field goal range, but I'm not sure I'm good enough to hit it.... if there's lag, it's definitely not makeable (for me).
I think that's four-down territory... not so sure about much further, but that's for more important people than me to decide

I just lost to Konex. Yeah Konex. How freakin bad is that? Ugh I hate myMADDENself right now.
I'm inside his 10, run Crump on a corner slant, he breaks free and is wide open, I hit his receiver button and push slightly right to lead him. What does freakin Joey "his Noodlearmness" Harrington do? He throws is about 5 feet behind Crump into a pack of 3 of Konex's guys. They were all just standing there taking part in the bake sale so I toss them a muffin. Freakin JOEY!!!
That was the low point. I bit a PA pretty bad and then the two guys that were covering his strong side WR didn't recognize that the ball had even been thrown (even though they were standing right beside him - oh well crazier things have happened). But that was his only offensive points.
I had some fumbles again too. After completed passes. Joey almost tackled one guy on the way to the endzone but he got his face slammed into the ground. It was pretty funny actually.
The high point was D.Hall getting another 2 INT. Good boy. And Jennings running a kick return back for a TD. That was cool. Everyone seems to be kicking to Jennings. I'm not sure if people are avoiding "Rocket" Rossum but Jennings is all boosters too.
It was still a gg though. No cheese just some bad plays/breaks. I'm still no closer to my 3 win goal.

Personally, I'm in favor of going for it on 4th and 1 or less at all times as long as you are inside the opponents 40. But that is something the commish would have to rule on. If you are winning and it is greater than 4th and 1 I think you need to punt the ball. But if it is 4th and 1 or 4th and inches teams go for it all the time in the NFL, even when up.

I agree. In the last game I played, my opponent could have extended a drive and since I couldn't stop his run game, 4th and inches with him trailing seemed like a no-brainer. What is worse, is I felt like less of a man as I waited for him to possibly go for it knowing that if he did I would have to complain to the commisioner. The season has started and I think altering the rules now is inappropriate. But for one of the following seasons, I am in favor of at least trying a rule like Bob suggested above.

Pennington doesn't just throw it in the general direction of the other team, he throws to the other team with "precision passing". He is worthless like tits on a bull.

I am still perplexed by the ability of linemen to jump 10 yards both vertically and horizontally to swat down a ball I throw to a wide open receiver or TE running a corner route. Even with noodle arm, I should be able to complete that pass.
