Madden Season 10 Official Thread: I want you back for good!

SickBoy said:
I've used the double pass maybe three or four times this year. I've tried one pass, which was incomplete, but otherwise the net result's been essentially a WR screen. I've also been picked thanks to press coverage on the play (couldn't see that wide and threw blindly rather than taking a sack, which is always dumb).

I wasn't accusing anyone of being cheap or anything just to be clear. I just thought it was something that should be discussed or that FMT might want to look into and decide on thats all. I think the main problem isn't the throwing (although that seems somewhat exploitive as well depending on the packages), but the fact that the cb covering him instead of tackling him runs away and leaves a huge running lane.

I know, just thought I'd offer my experience... I'm sure there are some expert cheesers out in the Madden world who can probably work the play far better than I can :)

Joseph Addai, third in the league in rushing, now rated the same as Adrian Peterson, and still not a weapon?

Hey Rors, at least Lamont Jordan got a WHOLE TWO POINTS.

About damn time! I get a DT weapon out of this. My main man Rob Bironas (K) gets 3 rating points. Vince Young gets 1 point! That's not enough EA! Look at my INTs/Sacks. I need at least 5-10 more overall points to stand a chance.

Holy shit @ Moss and Brady. We're all doomed. Is Brady the game's only 99 rated player? I don't even remember one last year.

notable raises:

Romo 84 to 89. TO 94 to 97. Shawn must be pleased.

Plaxico 90 to 92 (CK celebrates)

J Gar 84 to 86

Surprising one here, Antonio Gates, 98 to 99..we've now got a 2nd 99 player. I want the Chargers! I love throwing to TEs.

notable downs:

DE Michael Strahan – 94 to 92 OVR (Take that Wellie!)

Sickboy,

You got my GT so hit me up whenever you're available. You should play your earlier games before ours, I agree. But I'm ready to play.

* HB Edgerrin James (Cardinals) – Becomes Trucking Weapon

Yeah! I have been using J.J. Arrington as my third down scatback lately, as well. Two games ago I burst off a 72 yard run for a TD. Shipp demoted to return duty confirmed.

Deducting points from Rolle. Oh well. I still have Eric Green, who plays better any way.

Deduct points from my 10-sack DE Bert Berry! Noooo!! :(

FMT what would you think about having these plays banned?

http://jjsticks.wordpress.com/2007/0...en-challenges/

some of them, especially the wr double pass, are being exploited heavily online (not necessarily in our league although I know some people do use it *no disrespect to those people, I assume they didnt know how exploitive it is*) and are pretty hard/almost impossible to stop. The wr double pass is almost guaranteed 15 yards running or generally speaking a longish pass. I haven't said anything cause I haven't seen anybody run it on me, but just something to consider.

I also noticed it on the site I posted with the roster updates and they take the exploiting to a new extreme it seems.
http://www.sportsgamer.com/content/1...r-double-pass/

I have this play in my playbook, and yes I have used it at times when I thought a heavy blitz is coming. Against Wellington, I was able to complete a bomb to T.O. using Patrick Crayton when he sent a nice blitz my way. If someone ran that play to simply run with the WR, I can see it being exploited. But you'd only throw that pass when the WR is open because the WRs do not throw the ball accurately consistently to rely on that play.

Crayton used to be a quarterback in high school so his accuracy isn't atrocious, but yeah I can see why some people would think it's cheese. But Wellington can testify his defensive play call left him vulnerable against that play when I called it.

Whatever you guys decide, I'm fine with it because I have a whole slew of plays I've become really proficient with. I can't lie though, it is satifying at hell to hit that thing on a nasty blitz from the defense.

I'm sure this is the wrong place, but me and a friend (i've only played Madden08 twice) can't figure out how you show your play at the line of scrimmage.

I thought it was due to him saying in that same post that he and Ando were like Kane and Undertaker, then signing the post the way Ando's brother used to sign his (this is Indy).

I think DM paid them off to not include Carnell on the IR list. They must have just been about to put him on there until the phone rang and DM made his offer.

Now it'll probably be another month or two probably until reality kicks in and he loses him.

Why are we putting up with flaky players who obviously don't want to be in the league? I say we call up another rookie from the minors.

I'm available from now through the rest of the night to play my Madden games. I'll be playing Halo 3, so just message me. Sorry I'm a little bit behind!

Why are we putting up with flaky players who obviously don't want to be in the league? I say we call up another rookie from the minors.

I'm definitely interested if you guys decide to replace someone else! My record in the Rookies league
(2-4)
(FMT, don't look) may not be the greatest, but I'm a dedicated league player.

:lol A man after DM's heart...achievement whore! You should let them come naturally like a real man. I like how you chose to pick on my shitty oline and half-assed QBs :(

i need someone to possibly fill in permanently for CP. he has expressed interest in playing all along, but his schedule doesn't seem to allow it. also seems that the only reason he wants to play is so he didn't "waste $60" on the game. this isn't really good for the league as i think a good league is predicated on good competition. and someone going through the motions is an auto-win for his opponent.

LJ11, or birdman or whoever, please post here if you will be available to fill in for the bills (possibly for the rest of the year, possibly for a few games). thanks friends

LJ's favorite team is the bills.

However, he is a much tougher player. How fair is it that half the people have Ws against a guy that really didn't even care to play and now a guy that wants to make a name for himself? I need that win.

Matrix

LeBron loves his girlfriend. There is no other woman in the world he’d rather have. The problem is, Dwyane’s not a woman.

Agreed. I say we let Bob play as the Bills. He's a total cupcake without his auto uber-team!

It's very different from a guy that is 0-6 to a guy that is 0-1. If LJ or any other competent player picks up the team, I think all those games should be replayed.

no replay on the games. it doesn't necessarily need to be LJ, but it needs to be someone. is it fair that teams would have to play a better bills team now? why not? was it fair the rams had to play brady and all his satanic majesty instead of drew "wooden legs" bledsoe? shit happens, people get hurt (or, in this case, replaced), and other stuff happens as a result!

he has actually been reasonably dependable, it's just he has no spirit when playing. im not saying you have to be at a certain talent level, but come on man you getting destroyed 40-0, 35-7 every week, it's like everyone of your opponents is getting a free pass

That's no excuse FMT. I'm 1-8 and I've been blown out a lot of weeks. And I have a busy schedule too. And as Wellington knows I'm never a free pass. :D
