If you switch back to your first PMC, do you get your level/exp back?

I'm asking because I have no interest in level SVER a second time but also don't want to be stuck with Raven or even Valor after going veteran just to be level 60.



btw.: I just played the BC2 demo and in my eyes the graphics of MAG look a bit better than the MP of BC2. BC2 has some nicer effects and animations, but textures and most of all PQ are way better in MAG (which is really sharp&clear while BC2 PQ looks ugly mostly due to massive aliasing).
Sure BC2 has destructive environments but on the other hand MAG has this gigantic scale in players&map-size.
I'm posting this here as it's not supposed to be a Battlefield rant but to question some of the reviews/opinions about MAG being ugly as hell etc.

Are veterans going Valor Gaf next? It would be nice to know 'cause the Veteran button is calling me and I want to pick the right PMC. I'll probably play all of them at one time or another but it would be golden to be in the faction where most Gaffers are this time around.

I'm only level 51 now, but at 60, I know I'll be up for a pmc switch. To Valor, I believe, is where a bunch are gonna go. Probably in a few days, ppl will switch... we have a bunch of people 45+.

No, you start over with every Veteran mode increase.

I don't think it costs any RAM/performance available for games in the first place.
You open up the XMB, select it and it saves the current output image in an exporting process with a short loading time. Besides, you would not be able play at this time anyway.

(actually even XMB music should also only be fed by XMB dedicated RAM, but I think it's possible the PS3 offers some of that or sound stuff/channels for SDK voicechat systems, maybe even due to CGC later on. My evidence is XMB music is often deactivated in games as soon as you go online and sometimes you even get to choose between VC or custom music, but on the other hand you could force it to play in any [sp?] game on debug consoles)

You can only have 1 character per PSN account. So you'll have to switch usernames every time you want to change character. Once you commit to a PMC, you're stuck with it until level 60 when you can enter veteran mode and re-select a PMC to start over with (except maintaining stats/medals) or delete the character permanently. You will always reset your level/skills/loadouts when you enter Veteran mode. So if you go Valor -> Raven -> Valor, you will once again be level 1 in Valor.

I was just in a game of Sabotage with this dude that was just talking shit about all of us not doing the right thing, etc. His comments and play all game seemed to indicate he was from the one-man-army cloth...sure enough...after the game I looked at his profile: 91 hours played - level 11. Unreal.

He even made the comment during the game "as long as my kills are over my amount of deaths, I'm good".

I just don't understand how this game is not teaching players that they need to be somewhat of a team person in order to succeed. This guy sunk 90 hours into getting to level 11? I am not that great and I'm level 32 in 20 hours. Despite his hours and hour of experience AND his being in a clan (wouldn't his clan-mates tell him how to play successfully) he still plays as a one-man-army...

You can delete your character, but you'll lose all progress.

You simply can't be only lv11 after 91 hours.

Ha, that's something. I'm really terrible and I'm level 12 after like 6 hours or so. Played with some of Valor GAF last night, my mic was sort of working sporadically unfortunately but we did all right I thought.

I waited for him to spawn. Gunned him down. And unloaded a machinegun clip in his face while he begged for a medic. Sorry. No medic for assholes.

Just checked, and it seems that you have to level up again to be squad leader. Kinda odd imo.

Damn MAG pissed me off today. Kept getting disconnected from the game server, freezes, and retarded lag/rubberbanding. One match (Sorry Violator, Lince, and iPoopy) I was lagging in Lince was squad leader, he got disconnected, which gave me Squad leader and I didn't even realize it until someone said it. Then I got disconnected a couple mins later, got back in. Saw someone else had Squad leader but then disconnected too, Only for me to get SL again, and then the game lagged for like 1 min straight with bullets floating in the air and nobody moving. The rest of the match I could barely tell what was going on. :lol :lol :lol so bad.

That's not even including the one acquisition map where someone purposely got the escort vehicle stuck right next to the crate so we couldn't do anything but wait for the other platoon to turn their escort vehicle in. Fucking griefers.

Yes, but you have to earn it back. It's basically starting from scratch but you maintain all the medals, stats, and respec points. That means you are Level 1, with no points to spend on specializations. So you'll have to get to level 15 once again to be a leader and then earn points to move up that ladder.

With 40 hours into Valor, I noticed this just this weekend...for the first time. It wasn't happening before. Alot of new players this weekend, alot of bad players. I was slowly getting frustrated and I see now why SOCOM players ar known as elitist. There are alot of people playing this game that should not be in my opinion.

Edit: I wanted to state that with this one loadout I have, with the sensor jammer and the enemy locator thing coupled with improved steath I am an engine of death. 45-12, 50-18 etc. after only one day with that loadout...a little too effective maybe.

Raven = Halo crowd
SVER = KZ crowd

mhh lv30, half way done (not really ) and I took a look at my exp stats:


Total Experience: 16137

FRAGO Bonus Points: 3611
Victory Bonus: 1945
Shadow War Bonus: 834 (what is this btw?)
Directive Bonus: 300 (30 per Directive match?)
Ribbon: Count: 16 -> * 5 = 80exp (medals too?)

Enemies Killed: 880 -> * 5 = 4400exp
Enemy Vehicles Destroyed: 12 -> *10 = 120exp
Resuscitations: 189 -> * 10 = 1890exp
+ about 3000exp I'm too lazy to go into detail (+don't know how to calculate the healing&repairing stats etc.), most are from mission related stuff like completed primary objectives, arming&defusing bombs etc.



As you can see, FRAGO and simple kills gave me more or less the same amount of exp, that's what you get from following orders, kids!

They high amount of overall winning (partly due to SVER GAF squads) gave me 1/8 of the total exp, though its about the same I got from simply reviving teammates.
The bigger chunk is from objective stuff, so as long as your squad is good, your exp should be good even w/o winning as a whole team.

I played a couple of random games early today and this Japanese clan was erratically driving the APCs back and forth but never getting close enough to the bunker we were attacking (one of them was SL but he/she would never FRAGO anything). I was laughing so hard when I noticed they were just sitting in the APCs bumping into every possible wall while yelling "aahhhh" and "oohhh" through their mics as they found that fascinating or something... then I planted C4 on the bunker and suddenly they all got out of the APCs... just to start running in circles around the bunker like they were trying to defuse the C4 (wtf guys, we were attacking), then *boom* -15 XP, I took a bunch of them out with the C4 detonation. Depressing.

I've been purposely slowing down while in the 50s. :lol I have a feeling once we all switch, there'll be many of us who get frustrated and quit MAG altogether if the Raven/Valor bitching is any indication of the experience on that side. Basically does what's advertised, not much of a tradedown from the PKM in close, but from range it feels like your shooting bb's at people. And, ugh 3 clips goes fast....

But speaking of the motion sensor....

Did you know it gives you an audio cue when it detects people? Fucking amazing, I don't even have to stare at my minimap constantly. Although if you're say, storming C on the Valor Sabotage map, the motion sensor will beep constantly. I'll be sticking with it for a while I think. Did anyone notice it on that Sabotage defense we played? I was on the ridge, so you probably only notice the red dots popping up if you were defending the left side of B. I was also using it on the Valor Domination map beforehand. I ended up sitting on the catwalks above E & F, watching the massive wave of red dots poor in. Lemme know if you remember getting the motion sensor updates on your maps too.

Is there a limit to its range? Would it be useful to snipers?

I'm in NZ and currently a level 31 Sver. I could probably rank up quicker if I played more Domination but it stresses me out to no end and I start getting shitty.

I wish Zipper would add something to MAG, a medic sign on the radar/map. Like, if someone dies, a small plus sign shows up on the radar/map exactly where they died. Sometimes I'm shooting and everyone is behind me, and I don't realize there's people that need to be healed due to them being downed by an enemy. Just something that I think would be a cool addition, and a helpful one.
