The Ice Arrow change is the first change that bothers me. I kinda liked the way it worked before. Still, its a pretty minor change.
And only people who played the game already are bothered by it.

Well that would be the case if they changed anything. And only people who played the game already are bothered by it.
And they're the people that made this game a reality. Nintendo should be trying to find a middle ground, not saying fuck you to the old fans.
Nobody but Nintendo made this game a reality.
It feels so odd when compared to the Wind Waker HD which was pretty much to me close to perfect remaster of a Zelda game.I don't see why they couldn't have included a "traditional" mode for fans of the original like myself. Instead of trying to preserve the original, it feels like they're trying to overwrite it. And to me, that's one of the most abhorrent things you can do when remaking a game.
Pretty sure you have to give up all masks to get it, so probably not...Did we ever find out if the Fierce Deity Mask is now usable outside of boss battles?
Aonuma has gone on record saying this remake was due to fan demand.

The Ice arrow "puzzles" weren't particualarly complicated or hard to begin with.
Why should we not be surprised? OoT only made changes to item usage right? People wanted MM to be like that.Looks like this is shaping up to be a really great portable version of this game, completely removed from the currently available, playable, and original MM. That you can still play. On the Virtual Console even.
I find it interesting that so many threads have devolved into complaints about changes to Majora's Mask as if they didn't expect something like this to happen. MM3D is not MM. It's not. It's the same story and it will provide a similar experience, but if you find yourself frustrated by these changes, especially the ones concerning the save system and the Bomber's Notebook, then I don't think you wanted a 3DS version in the first place. If you're still skeptical, which I am still about a couple of things in this game, then you need to play it. With the way these reviews are looking, I don't think anyone needs to worry about wasting their money by purchasing this, even if they dislike this or that about it. If there are problems with some of these changes, it's not the end of the world.

In the Gametrailers review, they specifically state that there's no Hero Mode or Boss Rush mode. I expected as much, but still a missed opportunity.
Please, if Nintendo didn't take a middle ground and just tried to appeal to new fans they would have gotten rid of the whole moon and 3 day cycle. That actually would have been a fuck you to the old fans, not dumbing down the ice arrows.

So is there a list of all the changes that they've made? Haven't been keeping up and it seems like they change a lot of stuff from the original.
Isn't finding a middle ground the reason they introduce these changes? To help the game appeal to a wider audience than Zelda diehards?
The thing about finding a middle ground is that somebody has to give some up, you know.

I don't want to shoot down people who are upset at the changes, but I am a big fan of the original and, sincerely, none of them seem like a big deal to me. This things I enjoy about Majora's Mask are still there and intact.

seems to me there are inevitable changes to adjust to being on a handheld system.
As if there weren't old fans who embrace the changes.
-The song of time no longer saves the game.
-You can only save at owl statues and the new feather statues.
-Aiming with the Deku scrubs bubble is now more accurate.
-The Bombers notebook now keeps track of more things, including giving you a map showing where people are.
-Zora swimming has been completely changed. You now have to use magic and put up with the humming of the electric shield if you want to go fast.
-Instead of holding the A button to roll as the goron, you now only have to hit it once.
-The game pauses every time you do something new in a sidequest and tells you exactly what to do next. Find an item? The game will make damn well sure you'll never have to wonder where it goes.
- Fishing has been added
- There's a new phase in the Gyorg fight
- The Twinmold fight has been completely redone
- Ice arrows can't be used to freeze any body of water. You now can only freeze special sparkling spots
This truly is MM redone as if it was made today, and it's really disappointing.

Wait are this both true? The miniquest tells you where to go next? Like what's the point, then?
Best review so far, loved the overview and video great job!
From the outside looking in, that all seems super minor. But then again, I never finished Majora's Mask.

This is completely and utterly false. In that case in the video it does spoil it, but that's an exception, the notebook doesn't tell you what to do.-The game pauses every time you do something new in a sidequest and tells you exactly what to do next. Find an item? The game will make damn well sure you'll never have to wonder where it goes.
I can understand the saving modification, since the new system lends itself to a handheld more. However, all of the gameplay related changes seem completely pointless and just slow the game down.
