why are planes still directed to fly over that area? they know its an active war zone and several Ukrainian planes have been shot down before..

holy cow... a prank caller who said he was a staff sgt on the ground in Ukraine saw the missile hit the plane called into MSNBC.

Got onto live tv and said it looked like it was a blast of wind that shot out of Howard's Sterns ass. Then the MSNBC anchor said "So can you confirm it was a missile?" and he replies back with... "Well you are a dumbass aren't'cha?"

Wow.. What is wrong with people.
Msnbc and cnn need to just quit. Fox needs Shep only 24/7 and we're good.

Sorry to be nagging, but is there a live stream online? I've tried all the major networks and they force you to sign in with your cable provider. Or they cannot play in my location (US)

JFC, i hope consistent news comes out soon about this, because right now it's a clusterfuck of information.

I hope the families of the deceased aren't watching any streams or social media right now, to see the body or photo of a dead loved one is just too much.

Even if the missile did not come from Russia, the Russians are still responsible. They supplied the seperatists with surface to air missiles, run of the mill rebels around the world can't get access to gear like that.

Russo is directly repsonibe for everything that has happened, flooding the area with weapons and paramilitaries has only caused the conflict to grow. I hope the world reacts and does something.
Sorta like what the US did in Afghanistan?

These are tweets after wards

@JasonBiggs: Hey all you "too soon" assholes- it's a fucking joke. You don't have to think it's funny, or even be on my twitter page at all.

@JasonBiggs: Truly- you losers are literally trying to find shit to get angry about. Channel your issues elsewhere.

@JasonBiggs: That last guy is the kind of person I want following me. All you other pussies please go back to being pussies. Thanks!

@JasonBiggs: Hey @tmz - well done on posting my face next to the wreckage of the plane- you might almost think I actually shot it down!

Jason Biggs career could be over.

Everyone at my work is saying that the 777 was at 33000 feet, it would have to be a very advance ground to air missile or another plane to shoot down the airliner....crazy shit.

Not very advanced at all, SA-2's could to that in the 50's as well as its American equivalents.

They've done this for 30 years. I think howard trying to book a flight to the 15th street bridge or something in DC back in the 80s (where a plane had just crashed) was the first.

I blame the networks for not doing simple checks on who they let on. Its their fault.

Or why is a Ukrainian military plane flying so close to a commercial plane?

My point is, I can understand the interest in the most sensationalistic tweet yet, but lets just wait.

Because he escort him? Those assholes with weapons already shut down several airplanes. And Russian warplanes already cross our borders.

And LifeNews was on crash side after 15 minutes, thats what I am calling professionals.

When people double-down on online idiocy... well, it's usually the end of good career opportunities for them.

Can we please get a more detailed Translation? Thx!

20:27:

BBC Monitoring reports more from the conversation between militants allegedly intercepted by the Ukrainian Security Service.

The conversation starts with Igor Bezler, a key militant, apparently telling a Russian security official by phone that the pro-Russian militants have shot down a plane.

20:31:

In the YouTube footage a militant nicknamed "Major" is seen saying it was shot down by "Cossacks from the Chernukhino roadblock".

Major goes on to say: "It is definitely a civilian plane... there was a lot of people on board," BBC Monitoring reports.

An airliner is the world's easiest target. Just about any (non-shoulder launched) AA missile fielded in the last 40 years can easily blot one from the sky.

where are people getting their updated pictures from? apparently there are pictures of the separatists securing the area and not letting ukraine officials in

My undertanding is that it was restricted to a certain altitude, though pilots and such have been expressing concern about flying over said area since this war started
