I absolutely love it.

The latter looks a lot better because it has the blue right; that's Superman. Doesn't anyone else agree the actual suit is too dark?

Looks like no... sadly.

Also I honestly could care less about the blue, makes the red stand out even more. The red was just so awful in Returns (if you can even call it red) the darker blue seems like nothing in comparison.

Again all I care about is a great Superman movie at this point.

Superman has looked different on film, animation and comics that even if some things have changed you still see Superman in Snyder's suit, so it really doesn't matter anymore to me for the reason I listed above.

The bulge is so distracting. I understand now why they implemented the red underwear on the outside: to camoflauge from the Man of Steel's man of steel.

Am I the only one that see's an S-shield that is a hell of a lot more red (bright) on the Man of steel suit than the one that was used in Returns.

I'm not color blind, but wtf

Dark blue looks 10 times better then light blue. Light blue looks too cartoony / boyish.

What is Brandon Routh up to anyways? Haven't seen him in anything since SR. Kate Bosworth too.

He was on Chuck the tv show some before it was cancelled and did some god awful movie called Dylan the Dog based off a comic book. Also had a role in Scott Pilgrim movie, wasn't that bad in that.

Bosworth has been in a bunch of crappy movies. Only one I can remember was a crappy remake of Straw Dogs.

Like the above poster said, Routh has done better for himself than Bosworth. I guess that happens when you end up being the worst Lois Lane of all time hah

Nah man the red is much more brighter and...well redder. They went with a much darker maroon color for the shield on purpose for SR.

Nothing much. He did an annoying guest spot on Chuck and gave his own awful Vader "NOOOOO" in an episode and then he did that Dylan Dog movie that bombed. Bosworth doesn't seemed to of faired any better.

Thank you Simo. I just smh though when I see comments like the S-shield is too dark and then I see pics of it and I'm like wut O_o and then it's like people blocked out the Returns color red.

Yes the blue is darker, but that red (brightness) in some of those pics you posted is almost just as red as in the Reeve suit. Again in the little footage we have seen the red doesn't seem to lose it's brightness, just look at the scene in the trailer where he's in space.

I guess some people just want the super bright red from the Reeve suit still.

I like the new look of the suit... doesn't look as out of place as the SR one. The colour tones look good too, but I guess im not that picky

just give me a good film! if its entertaining, then everybody will start to like the suit lol

Empire Mag's piece was really poor. Expected better, especially in the area of direct quotes but instead the vast majority we've already read before

Damn I love Cavill's body movements as he flies. Just from what I've seen through the trailer and teaser, it's not your typical 1 or 2 hand in the air shit. Like look at him, it just fits him and looks so natural (amongst his choreographed lessons, he pulls it off nicely)

And even when he falls..

Routh's looks too stiff and forced. Doesn't look good at all

Him being thrown or shot into the bank fault is just epic looking. I enjoy the crap out of the little we have seen from that scene more than the entire plane scene from Superman Returns lol You can even tell he's bracing himself so he won't cause the whole place to just explode.

COME AT ME RETURNS LOVERS/or only super plane save lovers!

I got the feeling the Routh suit was supposed to be shot in a way that the colors would seem richer. It doesn't look that way in real life though.

I think it's okay to blame Singer's X-Men for color-muting modern superhero costumes. The ones in First Class were pretty good though. Spider-Man is probably the only arguable improvement of any superhero movie with the embossed webbing.

Since Cavill's suit is depicted as more of an actual armor, I've come to forgive the differences from past circusman getups.

I wonder if Alex Ross is ever going to paint New 52 junk lol

He was also going for a timeless/romantic look and it was done on purpose since Singer said he didn't really want a time period placed on the movie.

Besides some scenes, the majority of the movie when Supes is in his suit he instead ends up looking like Evil Supes the majority of the picture cause the red is just too dark with the way he shot the film.

Bleh stick to X-men movies Singer.

I'm done :P

I think having that muscle outline really enhances the look of Cavill's suit, and emphasizes his figure. Routh looked skinny in his suit.

More importantly, I think the cape is what really makes the suit. Routh's looked like plastic, while Cavill's looks richer and more natural.

The thing that throws Rouths suit off more than anything is the combination of the S size, and the neckline.

The neckline makes it look like Under-Armour.

Singer is a moron who did everything wrong with the outfit, first off it was just...ungodly awful. And he wanted it to look like some sort of weird long gymnast outfit with those awful shorts and the cape looked like a damn fruit roll up.

That's most likely CG and not Cavill.

Hasn't it been stated that any flying shots are CG, and Cavill never got in a wiring harness?

Why would Carla Gugino act as Cavill's stand-in? She doesn't even look like him. Though I could understand wanting to put her into a tight harness. I guess Snyder's worked with her before and she's doing him a favor?

Mornin, Sculli.

lol god that gif is perfect

"Hasn't it been stated that any flying shots are CG, and Cavill never got in a wiring harness"

He got in the harness a few times for body position and that's all, but yea everything is CG when it comes to flying.

One quote that has stuck with me recently is the portrayal of Donner's films as 'idealistic' - a tone that wouldn't be appreciated or favoured by modern day audiences, allegedly.

I disagree with that. I think the sense of idealism conveys a majesty in the character; it isn't about his powers but rather the man who holds such power; it is what distinguishes Superman from the rest. But they fret over this, believing it conflicts with their goal of portraying him as a more realistic figure in which people can relate to. Yet, I don't want to relate to him - I want him to be something you'd want to aspire to; I want him to be inherently different, inherently good.

This pursuit of exploring the human side of superheroes has led to the conflicted, the outcast, being the norm; audiences have seen enough of that.

Well I didn't feel anything from Returns that I got from the Donner films, they couldn't even get that right cosplaying off it. Heck I felt more from Smallville... then again that was 10 years worth of tv.

Who's to say you can't have both? We have no clue how Supes is truly going to be portrayed in this movie. Obviously he's considered an alien, odd/maybe even scary at first, but you don't think that quote they used by Jor-El in the teaser isn't a hint that Superman is going to change the way people view things and him.

He's inherently good in this film, heck they show him saving kids with his powers at a young age and turning himself in and allowing himself to be handcuffed. This Superman isn't a dick :\

Will Supes be a sexual deviant?

1445128_ovpjey.gif

Or a man walking around with a anti boner?

I was so sad when I was younger and found out that was a body double and not her real body lol

Well from the comic-con teaser we saw Supes kissing Lois.

Returns gave us stalking and him needing to get laid badly. He should have knocked up Kitty(Parker Posey)and Super kissed her as well.

Supes was full on horny in Superman 2 lol gave up his powers to tap Lois.

Agreed!

And boo on Kruek not showing off her body.

Any idea what led her to be so uptight?

Any idea what led her to be so uptight?

She was really young and insecure as far as I can remember from articles. Then as she got older... Erica Durance and her fake tits came on the show (no problem at all with that hah) and no way she ever was going to show any skin. That episode where Erica gets in her red bikini and Kristen is in the same scene with her, well she is basically covered up wearing a swim suit that a old lady would wear. I can't get into the mind of a girl lol, but I'm sure Durance and her insane body played a role in that. Plus she got really really thin on the show for awhile.

Heck Supergirl got into a bikini one time (great body on laura vandervoort as well lol) and Kreuk is in that scene too.
