I think that's just a bad picture of the suit and it won't actually look shiny in the film.
hah my bad, but the Returns suit is sooooo awful. I'm sorry![]()
Suit is too dark.
Bomba.
SWEAR TO MEWe should ban that word, I swear to god.

It's ok, you don't have to like the Returns suit. Nobody's perfect (=
Amy Adams looks hawt on that cover though.
Thankfully, Marvel forcing the Avengers to happens may mean we'll get better superhero costumes. Superheroes are supposed to look larger than life, as opposed to convenient.
I was gonna blame Singer and his X-Men costumes but they were probably inspired by The Matrix.
The only bad Xmen costume to me is Magneto's final one in First Class.
I love the First Class & Xmen 1/2 uniforms.

Man if I were Supes I'd have major issues with wanting a piece of my adopted mom lol Diane Lane still has it.
Penguin, they really do. Really curious to see what Cavill looks like with glasses.

Edit: Wait, there are pictures of this apparently.
So, are they just going with no glasses on Clark Kent? That seems....weird.
I hope the beard is the new glasses.
lol Anyone who thinks the Returns suit is better really gives no fucks about Superman.
Ugliest piece of shit, it's right next to Dean Cain on the list of things gone bad in Superman movie/tv history.

They look so good as the characters! >.<
Cavill looks great but that suit is fucking turd. Looks like the Nic Cage monstrosity
anything that can irritate Alex RossI thought we agreed to mind wipe ourselves of Dean Cain.
First Class costumes are what we should've had in X-Men 1.
The cast of X-Men 1 isn't that great. The original comic cast had enough visual differences to make them stand out. Beast, Iceman, Angel, etc.
They barely used codenames too. For a movie where mutants are supposed to live in fear and mutants are committing felonies to save the world, they sure aren't hiding their identities.
Everything from that time was about convenience and trying to underplay the goofiness. Hopefully that's over now. Yellow spandex ftw

Yeah that shit looked bad.
I agree that Magneto costume at the end was laughably bad.
You should see my comic collection & office and then tell me I don't give a fuck about Superman. The suit was fine, stop over exaggerating. You can hate it and not go completely overboard every time it's mentioned.
You take everything so seriously when it comes to Returns lol You can be the biggest Superman fan here and I wouldn't care. Heck I'm sure I have just as much Superman shit as you, which really doesn't matter in the long run. You chose to take my little rant about the suit "personally". The suit is shit "IMO" and I don't go completely overboard every time it's mentioned ( I leave that for the shitty actor off that tv series who's name I won't mention again)
I do happen to get annoyed when the Returns suit is compared to the Man of Steel suit or the original Reeve suit which was why I made that comment.
I'm not taking it personally as much as I'm flat-out telling you this:
It's getting annoying.

I get what you're saying, but in a movie, people want to see X-Men saving the world. The last act of X-Men 1 was a bunch of people in dark suits wandering around in the dark. Then Wolverine fights Mystique. Jean Grey gets hit with gunk and Cyclops tries to clean the gunk. Storm had a cool moment when she flew that one time and used lightning. Then Wolverine fights Sabretooth, then Wolverine fought the large spinny thing.Different mediums require different aesthetics. Some things translate well and others... not so well. They also called each other codenames a great deal in that first movie, and this is coming from someone who watched Xmen 1 on Blu Ray last week.
Xmen, when done as well as it was in Xmen 2 & First Class, is mature enough that having Fassbender's final outfit in First Class would kind of undermine the sincerity and real-world metaphors for intolerance. He looked like a buffoon. The Xmen honestly don't even feel like a super-hero team that saves innocents as much as they're constantly in a state of interpersonal identity crisis, which is kind of what I prefer. Watching the team hang out at the mansion is more appealing to me than a 20 minute fight scene with the Juggernaut.
What I liked so much about First Class is that while their mutations weren't apparent, the costumes were customized for their powers. The closest to the original trilogy was Cyclops's visor, Wolverine's claws, and Beast/Colossus's vests. Other than that, boring costumes. One last bit about the Xmen outfits:
I love, love, love First Class, but I think he looked imbecilic in that helmet at the end. I mean, compared to the Xmen uniforms in that movie or his overall wardrobe in the movie... I wish they had toned it down a tad.
These were much more reasonable/functional while being true to the 60s versions of the Xmen. I hope Days of Future Past gives us a less silly looking Magneto.

No, glasses are in this. I just don't think he starts working at the Daily Planet till the end or near the end and that's when he needs them or not until he shows himself as Superman first and then realizes he has to wear them if he's gonna work there next to Lois etc
He could get away with getting around Metropolis etc without the glasses before he suits up so to speak and hasn't met Lois or anyone important in his everyday Clark life.
