I'm actually kind of sad that I missed the ESC, because it's always a great experience on GAF. Brb, checking the results for some outrage.
Yeah, The Non-Spidey Ultimate universe kind of sucks. I remember being really disappointed in how dull Ultimate X-Men was in particular.
But Ultimates 1&2 are good! Even the avengers movie was basically an adaptation of the first volume.
Ultimate Spider Man is offensively bad even for Americomics.

Yeah, but how much of that can be replicated live? Europe has had decades to perfect the art of bizarre stage performances and I simply don't think Japan are ready to compete at that level.

It was boring. Eurovision is at its best when countries send elderly folk singers, costumed rock bands or flat out jokes instead of the samey tripe that usually gets shipped out.
I'm pretty sure it would be against the rules to present a song where the singer wasn't present. Or even real.

I know patriotism plays a big role in those things and it's great that your country won and all that, but that song was so safe and boring, it made the Super Mario franchise look fresh and exciting.

It sort of does and while my eyes enjoyed the artistic pornography Murata displayed in that chapter, I remember being annoyed, because of the lack of story progress.

Sounds like a pretty realistic take on the usual comic hero.

I'm just glad Murata stopped with the story board panels. The gifs were really nice and I'm sure he enjoyed them, but moving on with the story is more important. That chapter when Genos transformed was terrible in that regard.

I wish you guys wouldn't call it Food Smut, because otherwise I would've checked it out much earlier (I don't read smut and this manga has barely anything to do with smut, judging from this chapter). However, I'm glad that I'm easily able to catch up, whereas with Toriko, it's going to be next to impossible.
I like the premise and this first chapter started out really good. Souma's father is pretty badass and Souma himself at the cooking school should be fun to follow.
The art is mostly okay, but also has its great moments.
