"Bungaku Shoujo" to Shinitagari no Pierrot 23 [END]

well, that was downright incredible. It was so heavy though, so depressing to read. I feel like if I wasn't in a good place emotionally I would never be able to read it. Very much deserving of its tragedy tag.

great story, particularly if you like mystery and intrigue and don't mind it being a downer.

the sequel manga was dropped, so I'll have to continue with the LNs, but reading the synopsis of what the second one is I might need to take a few days' break before I decide to tackle it.

Definitely recommended though.

Checked it out and it was cool
what happened the the MC really sucks since even now it affects him greatly and he can't see that the outspoken classmate likes him lol
.

crazy twists there too
i.e what really happened with S and the revelation of the girl wanting to follow the same path

its really unfortunate about the sequel since i'm getting into that one as well but no more progress is being made.

I mean seriously.

Lucifer and The Biscuit Hammer Vol 1

A personal dream of mine was realized: This manga actually got a release here in Brazil. With some color pages, decent paper and a short preface by the author (which is just "please like it").

This manga is just as I remember it: awesome.

Congrats on getting it before America! I hope it sells well over there as it did here, so you too might get other works by its author.

So Vinland Saga is really good. I really liked Shokoku no Altair and Otoyomegatari too. Any other historical/political/action manga I might like knowing this? I hear Kingdom is good.

Gots it. I'mma check them out.
I've been reading some dark-as-shit books/comics/manga and I'm looking for something nice and fun with a decent plot and since Nisekoi doesn't have a story any more, I need something else.

Well, the ones I listed aren't necessarily plot heavy, but they are super cute and in gekkan shoujo's case super hilarious.

Hadi Girl is pretty cute and I guess the main girl counts as tsundere

I swear like 90% of the panels is blushing.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun 1-5:
Already 10/10.

Shinozaki-san Ki o Ota Shika ni! 1-2
Oooooooooooh. This is so gewd~
We've already hit the Monster Hunter chapter, so it can only go up from here.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is god tier 4-koma.

Also if you want something adorable-heavy, try Gakuen Babysitters. The main girl is pretty tsun sometimes.
But the real tsun of the series is the chairman

For what it's worth on the first spoiler,
the Light Novel doesn't make Nanase nearly as obvious as the manga does. Sort of. By the end of the book, you get the same picture though. Still, MC's past is tragic as fuck and I quite like what it means for him, as a character, to be kind of broken like that
.

Anyway, all 8 of the Light Novels (well, there's 4 side stories we'll probably never get because reasons) are available in English so they're readily available if you want to get the rest of the story. They even have Kindle versions now!

Off-hand, the manga adaptations never even get to Captive Fool and beyond anyway so the LNs will eventually be the only route anyhow :x

I mean seriously.

Wait, now I'm lost. Oh, do you mean in the actual story?

Ryuto is ... well. Ryuto is Ryuto.

I like how everyone assumed she was a redhead before the reveal.

Was I really the only one who knew she wasn't?

Isn't that in like the Volume 1 or 2 insert images? I know it's also the Volume 4 cover but pretty sure it's also shown well before that.

Edit: Though, to be fair, she totally seems like she would have had red hair. such cliches I guess :x

"Next time I'll be your exclusive model... in the nude."

As for the first spoiler i guess that's what happens when actual art is now involved as it makes the character easier to read.

also
its very unfortunate about what happened but it seems he's slowly being healed by literature girl and her antics. Also one of the reasons i'm really into the second story is because of the similarities he is seeing in this new girl with the one he lost and his reaction to it .

Also thats cool to hear about the LNs but i actually like the art of the manga so thats gonna be somewhat disappointing missing that :(

both actually :p

It's one of those things where her b/w hair really should have a lighter hue. THE ART IS LYING TO ME

Anyways, I want to dump a few light novels on my kindle so maybe one day, just perhaps, on some offhand whim I could flip through a few on a rainy, but most likely sunny, day. Already loaded up the first Biblia Koshoudou volume. Thinking about Log Horizon next. Any more suggestions?

Utsuro no Hako is pretty good. I've only read the first volume, which is about a groundhog day loop. Gekkou also looks good, that's another one Dakku was reading (a boy who caught a girl with a recipe for murder, when he father had just passed away).

There's always the more mainstream things like Maoyuu Maou Yuusha, Index, Toradora!, Baccano!, Mahouka, or Durarara!! too.

edit:
I wouldn't call either of the highschool girls main characters.
which is why I say main girl. That doesn't necessarily mean main character or main lead. There are only two "girls" relevant here (that are not too young or too old), and out of the two, she's the more important one.

Yeah. One of the main differences between the first book and the manga (since it's the only completed one I can really compare) is that the majority of the "fluff" between events and everything about the characters is explained better in the novels. Which is to be expected: There's more time and space dedicated to these things.

The manga, however, allows for a far greater impact on key scenes. Like, for Book 1,
the final reveal for "S" and their final line to Shuji is done amazingly in the manga; in the LN, it's merely some text on the page. The final diary entry has an actual page just with the line "I hate it" repeated for a full page; the manga's two page spread hits harder, though perhaps that's the impact of the untranslated text in that font. Of course, it also allows for mistakes like Miu's suicide is depicted way too early (it's near the end of the book, if I recall) and incorrectly (she falls over facing him just like Shuji's) but that's minor gripes I guess
.

For what it's worth, the manga designs are still based on Miho Takeoka's designs from the LN so the times they do appear, they'll match up. I just wish some of the scenes chosen to be depicted were better. There's many things I'd love to see "properly."

I'll refrain from commenting to much because real spoilers so I'll just say this: Since Book 1 had to introduce characters, Book 2 really takes off on giving us all sorts of insight and development. Famished Spirit's girl is one of my favorites and it's a shame that this never got fully scanned.

"--do you know how you can get back the things you've lost? You just have to reverse time."

both actually :p

hohoho~

I remember reading the passage in the book and being stuck on it for awhile. Ryuto's philosophy of hate fueling love and love fueling hate isn't anything new or fresh or anything like that at all but seeing it here combined with my own expectations of the story ... well, it certainly made my assumptions go crazy on how the story (both the individual book and the overarching plot) would go.

Because it's on recent discussion, I'll suggest the Book Girl Light Novels. It's primarily psychological mystery with a blend of tragedy for the stories.

I'll load up Utsuro no Hako, Gekkou, and Book Girl. Of the bigger series named the only one I'd be interested in is Baccano but that only seems to have volumes one and four translated. :(

I was also in the camp that pegged Seo with red hair, but Seo da bes so she can have whatever kind of hair she wants.

The molasses pace of LN translations really does blow. I've been waiting on Hataraku! Maou-sama translations for forever, so I know how you feel. :(

Nana to Kaoru 112 - Did not expect that. Still..thats slightly safer than ryokou going hog wild unsupervised. Also one of those guy things scares me. That would chafe my willy.

Oh, I see that Baccano had a bunch of translations outside of b-t. Guess I'll load those up too!

Also feeling rather bad that my real, legitimate, literary novels are being crowded out by cartoon covers. My decline is complete.

So on the Bleach front, I really wish we'd had found out what the four Sternritter girls did to Bambietta.

Also, I still think The Yourself brothers were some of the neatest things Kubo did.
