Also as long as they don't wallow in it for too long (especially if people are helping them at that point), it can pass.

Though to be fair on megumi, when done really well those are the kind of stories I really like, and I've liked the way her character story is playing out.
Partly why I love Honey and Clover and Solanin so much.

With that being said I'm wondering where the plotline for Erina having a crush on Souma's dad will lead to. I can't wait to see her reaction once she finally finds out Souma's father is a man she's in love with, surely it'll result in some more tsundere moments. I'm just going to be like, "When are you guys going to fuck?" the entire time. Do it, it's perfect.
They even set it up in chapter 1, when Souma's dad tells him the trick to being a good chef is to find someone to serve too aka a love interest. And then the next chapter they introduce Erina who has the god's tongue aka the best tongue ever. It's gonna happen, dunno when but it's gonna happen.

Eh, I don't really think her losses are due to "reasons", I think that the manga showcases pretty well that she is a quickly developing cook who has not reached her full potential yet, especially against people who could be considered "end bosses" in a way.

With all this Akira hype coming up, I think mayhaps it'll be Mimisaka vs Soma and Ryou vs Akira in semis.
And of course Ryou is the weapon that Alice brought to kill "God" (Erina) so Akira loses depite God's nose lol. Then cue epic light vs dark food battle. Yup, I'm ok with this.

that last match kinda soured me since they teased that win so hard.
Also the other match she lost was more of the guy being a huge jerk than her abilities.
i guess those 2 mooks who mock her and then are embarassed when she proves them wrong needs more screen time.
I really hope its not Soma vs his doppleganger, that would be boring as fuck.
Although Soma vs Data Guy isn't as interesting either but its a bit better than above.

I always expect fighting out of a series I read because there was fighting. Not that my expectations are always high, but they're still there.
