curry guy vs dark soma should happen, curry guy is the lesser of the two evils so i want him to beat the super cliched dark soma. Alcie aide vs soma sounds about right since alice aide hates soma

No way we're not getting soma vs dark soma, this character wasn't introduced out of the blue to simply job to curry guy, nor to be round two fodder for Soma before the final boss of curry guy.

You sure do love your cart games. I play Yu-Gi-Oh, you play? Cause I want to duel you someday. We can get Manga-GAF to watch and everything.

I usually played the yugioh tcg games (tag force) and now on ps3 and soon the 3ds. I have lots of physical cards but barely anyone plays here :(

I want to get the cards for Arc_V, the entermate and pendulum, and also more Cardfight!! vanguard cards and Futurecard Buddyfight ones too.

Try out Dueling Network or YGOpro some time. I play Cardfight too but not as much as YGO, I own a full Spike Brothers deck but that's about it when it comes to me and Vanguard.

Hello, all.

I couldn't find a light novel topic so I figured I should just ask this here. I hope that's alright.

Has anybody read the Book Girl light novel series? I'm interested in collecting it but the import cost is rather high so I hesitate a bit. Could anybody kindly give a general impression?

I tried reading the comic version of Book Girl and the Suicidal Mime and I did find the twist wonderful, the theme well-delivered and the paralel with Osamu Dazai's work very interesting (I assume/hope other books would have other works/authors as basis). However I also feel that the mystery layering is a bit contrived and the character motivations a bit unclear (also, weird fanservice sequence in the middle). Basically, not lacking in feels but a bit disappointing in logic.

Perhaps this is simply because the manga doesn't have enough time to build the plot and characters up. I imagine this kind of a novel would use pages of descriptions and musings and thus deliver these point better. So in short, I'm curious how the novel version is compared to it, and how the other novels stack up against it (and how's the quality of the English translation, if that's the one you read).

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 6: Stone Ocean Vol 66

The new Big Bad seems terrible. It's an interesting ability but it makes everything seem terribly boring. Plus we just did 'find out about unknown villian' last part. Was really hoping they got out of prison too. Sidelining one of the series best characters just makes it more boring.

Sticker power seems eh. Suicide power was also eh.

What is happening to Nishimiya really makes sense. Explains her cheery character as well.

She believes everything is her fault. Her parents divorce. The bullying. It was because she is deaf that these things happen.

And maybe, if she's gone, people would be happier. All of these events are centred around her and if she takes herself out of the factor, permanently, things would be better.

Behavioral self-blame sucks. God I need to lie down.

Koe no Katachi 42

...so Ishida's blow-up on the bridge drove Nishimaya over the edge. Way to go dumbass, maybe now you'll learn not to push away your friends. Except Kawai and that other guy, fuck them.

edit: seriously through screw Ishida. If he hadn't gotten there he would've been 100% boned too. damn. Hopefully hitting absolute rock bottom means things can only go up from here.

Damn Ishida for being a self-deprecating douchebag and wanting to redeem himself. Damn him.

I think the release schedule plays heavily into this.

It definitely does, but I think the bigger culprit is that the story is trying to round out the 2nd store. The waiters->actors plot is boring and seeing Ban just kinda slink after his confrontation is also slow, since we're gonna have to wait for that volcano to explode for the 2nd time. And the fact that the new guy that needs to be continually pleased is less interesting than the company owner.

It's not like rounding out the characters is a bad choice, just that it lacks the energy that I liked from bambino.

Attack on Titan Volume 7

This series finally hit it's stride here. What a satisfying and well-built up moment. The fight between Ehren and the Female Titan was some genuinely good action manga. Some of the best action manga I've seen in a very long time. By far my favorite volume.

Attack on Titan Volume 8

This Female Titan arc has a whole new twist to it, a twist that honestly surprised me and caught me off guard, even though if you look back at the previous chapters, the Female Titan's fighting style really was pretty much exactly like Annie's. Not only that, but I'm genuinely interested to see what Annie's story actually is, not just Ehren's. This world keeps on getting more and more interesting.

Honestly this whole Female Titan arc has been awesome.

Dragged with it to its grave.

It's amazing how Illegal Rare is the only surviving series from the freshmen group and yet no one cares about it.

If you got rid of Soul/iShouojo/Stealth than Illegal Rare would be last this week. There is no mistake that nobody cares about that one either, they just care less about the others.

He is only taking 1 week off and will be returning the week after.

Really strange too since Togashi usually does 10 weeks before taking a year off.

Maybe he's splitting up his hiatuses.

So it's the least dead series there. Gotta be bad for Jump that they can't keep a new series alive for more than a year at this point. Or maybe bother giving things a chance, etc, etc.

You could say the same for his other hiatuses only with a different set of time. >_> <_<

Actually I'm more interested if this counts towards the betting pool.

It's just really hard since 2012 was such a good year. Looking at the current weekly Jump lineup you really have to stand out to make it since there are so many big series now.

AssClass -> 1million+
Kuroko -> 700k+
One Piece -> 4million
Naruto -> 1million +
Saiki -> popular gag manga
Haikyuu -> 600k+
Isobee -> popular gag manga
Soma -> super popular
Sumou -> probably will get canned
Toriko -> big franchise
Gintama -> big franchise
WTrigger -> anime in Oct
Nisekoi -> one of most popular shounen rom/com ever
Kochikame -> immortal
Hunter -> Togashi
Bleach -> still sells
Illegal -> probably canned later
stealth -> canned
Ishoujo -> canned
Soul -> canned

Touta's got some serious balls to take on Fate, as anyone who read Negima would know. That dude is real. I laughed my ass off when he called him out of his Negi obsession. XD

Yeah, but it really does feel that unless you suddenly gain a large amount popularity super quickly, you are basically dead from the get-go which basically does mean most new series that launches in Jump is doomed to get cancelled.

Naruto

Well played, even I chuckled a bit. Shame that is probably going to be the only highlight for the rest of the arc.
