I just got the soul eater soul art book.
Seeing some of his early illustrations reminded me that he was GARBAGE at faces early on. The eyes were all shitty and droopy.

Wait no ones done chp47 of BLue Exorcist yet? First time us weekly shonen jump has beat the groups for that series and we even get it a week late even. Takaras gonna be great, cant wait.
What do you mean? Its not like mashima hasnt done multiple fairytail chapters a week before and I don't think it really gave the impression that things are being rushed especially when oneof those chapters was just a party.

It's a shame there's only 5 chapters of this in english left to read and there won't be more until February next year and by that time there'll be two more volumes untranslated. ;_;
Hopefully Yen Press pushes the release date forward or someone else starts translating it again now that the anime came out.
Alright, this is startin' to get real good. The characters and their motivations are being fleshed out, the overall bigger picture is slowly but carefully being revealed, and the wittiness is just as humorous as usual. I kinda figured that Fuyumi's mother was a demon due to the mixed energy thing from earlier, but I wasn't really expecting her being related to Bell's mother of all people (though it was p. obvious where this was going with the butler looking just like her dad). This "volume" also did a great job of making Braz a much more likeable character as it's given him a perfectly understandable reason for just what he's pursuing.

This has always baffled me and since someone brought it up, I have to ask. Does keikaku mean anything else than "plan" that's actually relevant? I totally understand leaving the honorifics in the translations, and in some very rare cases, the Japanese word because it's pun that just can't be translated or something, but usually it just seems like urrgghh aghh so irritating weaboo hnngg stuff

Unfortunately I have to agree with everyone regarding to Arslan. The writing was extremely trite and boring, I couldn't finish reading it. :/ Maybe she should stick to highschool Comedy/drama for a bit.

There are manga adaptations of stuff where the original writer of the novels also write the manga? I always thought its the mangakaga who chooses which scenes to do and makes all the dialogue and plot points and etc? At least Ive never encountered any that were written by the original novel writer.

Komatsu's friend Ume was introduced returning from space, there's an astronaut chef, it's stated Sunny's Satan Hair can reach space, and NEO stated Joa is saying "goodbye to humans" or something.

Finished looking through the soul eater artbook, and I have to say it is well recommended for fans of the series. While his early stuff does have some dumb derpy faces, I really like his vibrant, cartoony style, with inventive designs that have a pop culture awareness.
Makes me want to reread the series again. I'll probably do that once it's finished.

The resolution was so good, though that tease...can one who watches the show at least say if we ever see or hear who this Moriarty is? This just ends with the bullet and then the name comes up, but no face or nothing.
I think the manga accomplishes its goal of introducing us to the franchise and getting us interested. As one who had never heard of it before and then trying it out here, I do have various reasons for now wanting to watch it on AMZN streaming this weekend in free time to see the events play out and even more. Hopefully John, Sherlock are just like they are hear and really connected, and Mycroft and Sherlock do interact more than just one brief scene.

It just donned on me that I first read this in community college 4 years ago. Mostly a set-up and departure chapter, Long is going to have another nervous breakdown and Andre is probably going to move in on Lele now that she's not with Yin. Hopefully Long's obsessive possessive nature with his brother will be resolved soon. Also showing more of the fashion modeling and production world would be interesting.

Jaco the Galactic Patrolman Chapter 1
Although it had its moments it just felt pretty boring in the context of all the other stuff running in JUMP and most other manga of today. I guess I just cant connect with the old geezer lead character and the costumed (I hope) alien character. The few laughs were just mere chuckles I guess and felt a bit on the childish side of things, and then the plot, I wish it was slightly a bit more. Curious how deep this can get before the ending at chp 10 or so...

The Bellamy thing is interesting... people saying that he couldn't take Luffy in a straight fight, are probably right. But they say 'assassination', and we all know how trusting Luffy is. Maybe his observation haki will help out there though.
Really want to find out the connection between the rookies and Luffy. The last time something like this happened (Duval) it was glorious, so I am pretty optimistic.
I wonder if Luffy would have stood a chance against Dorry and Brogy back in Little Garden... Always nice to see Luffy's complete dominance.

Ugh. Kind of sexist for sure, I think... few characters have died in Fairy Tail, so these two are a significant share of the dead characters. There isn't exactly balance. (Oh, and in the Fairy Tail movie,
didn't the original female character in the film die too? I forget if she was protecting guys, though. There was something about her being centuries old or something, etc.
Maybe that's where he got the bad idea to do this with Grey, then.

Maybe. Dorry and Brogy spent 100 years fighting each other, so their skills may have gotten rusty going after the same opponent for so long.
The post-timeskip cover story confirms they're still fighting, bringing it to 102 years. I imagine Luffy would dominate them now.
