Marathon Server Slam CCU Watch

If Gaf is an echo chamber, why theres people here positive about this game? Do you even read what you type?
Also anyone can find positive or negative impressions on youtube if they want. Thats how youtube works.
I've mostly seen people being negative and wanting the game to fail, simply based on the #'s we're seeing from the slam on here. Many of the posts in this thread and previous threads show that. While what I have been reading outside of GAF has been the opposite. Make of that what you will. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.

You said it hasn't done anything majorly wrong yet and I'm just pointing out that bungie imo has been a bag of dicks so maybe a little humble pie is what needs served up
not to me. i played destiny 1 and 2. i had some issues with D2 but none of the things you mentioned which are new to me.

Well for me for example i played one of the earlier tests and i played some of the serverslam and there is just no reason for me to mix in Marathon in the rotation with Tarkov and Hunt(And Arc when i want a more chill experience in an exfil-shooter). I do think Marathon is OK but i just have more fun in thoose other games. I DO NOT find Marathon hard to get into at all, but that might be couse i play Tarkov i guess :messenger_tears_of_joy:
care to elaborate then?

why do you not want to mix Marathon into your rotation? why makes it "OK" and why are the other games fun? difficulty of getting into the game aside of course.

Arent you the guy that hates people that hates games they dont play? And as an answer to me yesterday had to throw jabs at arc(i just said arc is in its own league)and now you qoute som tards from the net, i mean your not really consequent are ya.
I played ARC Raiders and know for at fact the quest structure is the worst thing about that game. Marathon has a great mission structure (the hook) and "workbenches" to upgrade (another hook). Seems like Ralph didn't even play Marathon

If you want to find only what you want to find, then sure you will only find negative people. But thats basically like wearing a blinder(same happens on youtube). Calling off GAF for being an echo chamber isn't going to help your case.

Isn't that the same
nope. Shut down means everyone just disperses and the IP rights (probably) stay with Sony for later use. Turning independant means someone takes over the reigns, from within or some outsider, and replaces Sony as the final decider, with or without new studio name and or even buying IP rights.

It is very clear Skillup does not like the gameplay loop of acquiring better gear and extracting. That is not a hook for him. He weirdly criticized Bungie for making a more "niche" game and not a game for the masses. He would never say that about single player developer. People at Bungie were passionate about this game and did not want to keep working on Destiny. It is very clear Skillup loves Destiny and wanted more of it, which is understandable.

Never trust a PvE gamer!

what is it about the maps you find boring? compare them to maps in other games if you don't mind.

a reply with more than 8 words would be nice.
I mean, sometimes it is just hard to know what it is about a game that dont makes it click. I know i dont have fun and or get "the feeling" when i play Marathon, the maps are one part, maybe it is the artstyle, or that i feel they are to small.

The finals i really liked, but i droped off after a while. But more couse i didnt want to "invest" the time it took to grind, and there is sooo many games to play.
The Finals is probably the best FPS I've ever played. Skill ceiling in that game is way higher than any game I've tried before, so I can always play it

Yeah, its alot to master in that one, and its so fastpaced! Even though it takes times to grind, it is also a game that i feel that i can just jump into and play, no FOMO so to speak. So someday in the future i will be on it again.

Have you read this thread?

For me the issue with competitive multiplayer games is that the lows eventually outweigh the highs.

Multiplayer games are a hell of a drug, lol. They get you very high and can be quite thrilling during their best times.

...but as time goes by they tend to become less enjoyable and eventually you are putting yourself thru stress and turmoil and not having fun at all. It all becomes meaningless and so you have to move on to the next game or wait until your friends group picks one to quicken you once more. You also have to dip out to get the toxic off sometimes. Multiplayer only gaming can be a really cold experience. The little things that were annoyances at first eventually become intolerable and usually, USUALLY the more I play the less fun I have.

For many the highs of the best times with games like this will outweigh the lows, but for me the lows are just too depressing to tolerate. MMOs and games with persistent community and gear and character building really do prevent this but the more niche and narrow and rote and repetitive the game is usually the worse the lows are.

I want to play a multiplayer game that is setup like a real gaas multiplayer but everyone is an NPC. Like a .hack game that was really an AI based single player game but was disguised as one of these live service games. Even have the AI be toxic to you via llm. That would be a unique experience and definitely wouldn't be as soul crushing as dealing with real blokes even if I lost more. It really probably never was the game itself why some of us hate these types of games, but the pool of humanity from which we must fish. With ai this is solvable.
