Lucha Underground Casket Match is up and I implore everyone (because I guess I'll beg) to enjoy it. It's pretty excellent. And yes, I realize it's weird saying Mil Muertes is in a MOTY contender but...there it is. Played his part wonderfully.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RX1X7IBOa-4

It's very, very good.

It's odd to think of a casket match as good in 2015....but I'll give it a shot. First time really watching Lucha Underground.

Or maybe WWE finally realized what unfathomable fucknuts NXT fans are, and how their chants in a small arena make the product sound like a bunch of inbred country folk having a good ole hootenanny in a barn.

Let me cut through the bullshit in this, because there's a lot. Just taking the words apart says all you need to say.

- It appears WWE is really still bitter over The Young Bucks turning down a tryout in 2014. We’ve noted how WWE has applied to trademark the “too sweet” hand gesture, which is used by The Young Bucks and New Japan Pro Wrestling’s popular Bullet Club stable.
So it "appears" - but isn't necessarily the case. And WWE is trademarking something their dudes did. Non-news.

We also noted how Mark Henry apparently took a shot at the brothers during his SmackDown segment with Roman Reigns last week as he said you “young bucks” haven’t been anywhere, talking down to Reigns.
This is a common term, especially for someone from Texas like Mark. More speculation without anything behind it.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted on his message board that people within WWE report the line by Henry was indeed done to take a shot at The Bucks.
Does this mean anything? "Did he do it on purpose? I don't know. Maybe? It sounds like the kind of thing Vince would do. I don't know."

Back in February, WWE posted a “Fury” video on YouTube that was the “Superkick Party” edition. There was some chatter that this was also done to take a shot at the brothers and apparently that is the case. The term “Superkick Party” has been used by The Bucks for some time now.
Another thing that means nothing. It's gaining traction due to the Young Backs, sure - but it's now a part of pro wrestling itself. That's like saying Okada's Tombstone is a tribute to the Undertaker.

We heard a few months back that the superkick move and the word “superkick” was being used on WWE TV a lot more. WWE has had restrictions on the move because it was once considered to be the sacred move of Shawn Michaels. There was talk within WWE that when The Bucks turned WWE down last year, WWE decided to up the use of superkicks in matches.
Riiiiight..."there was talk within WWE" - go fuck yourselves.

End of the day this is written to get people talking, not reporting a single goddamned

I don't know about murdered - it would be smart on WWE's end to (and I sigh to myself saying this because people really, REALLY overuse it thanks to a little lardass) make Roman look strong, but not dominant. Brock is going to go into a monster babyface run after Mania and make some serious, SERIOUS merch money as the God-King Kal Lesnar.

I think you're giving this carny industry a little too much credit. The Young Bucks are a pretty huge fucking deal in professional wrestling. It makes perfect sense that the WWE would pull a concerted effort to delegitimize them.

the only thing sillier than nxt chants are the people complaining about them.

So your answer is "no" you don't believe Kojima is a misogynist?

depends on the context and what you define as misogyny (or, obviously, examples because it's entirely possible that there's information i dont know about)

Nah, the stupid shit is a Full Sail thing.

The Ohio crowd was a typical indie crowd. One woman was shown on screen wearing a Bullet Club shirt.

You could still hear the crowd chants when they got hype though, and the most of out place chant was a Mr. Wrestling chant for Owens.

do you believe that not-real women in skimpy clothes makes him a misogynist?

If I look at all my past hobbies. Heavy Metal music, comics, anime, action movies, videogames etc. etc etc etc. I'm pretty sure every single one is misogynist in one form or another.

I guess I'm supposed to feel guilty now? It's not like I got into them specifically for that. I got into almost anything because it entertained me.

Society transforms for the better and we move along.

So not worth it

But hang on, doesn't Kojima have a ton of strong female characters in full clothing in his games as well as half naked men and even men in nothing but their underwear?

I mean, isn't the Boss one of the strongest female characters in video game history?

MGS4's entire "Beauty" photography segments. Let's just dive in there.

So since he has one strong female character (That he did sexualize heavily, btw) and there are shirtless men, this means the misogyny simply isn't there? It's not zero-sum. The way he treats women in the MGS series is despicable. Hopefully Feminist Frequency does a deep dive on MGS' treatment of women.

I watched NXT last night and was immediately compelled to watch reruns of HEE-HAW.

I think Sunny might have a point. I mean wasn't PT's main villain a stereotypical house wife who fell into a deep depression after going through with an abortion? Which by the way is a goddamn woman's right to choose.

Kojima thing is a worked shoot that's getting people to shoot like they've been shot and let me tell you brother, it's working.

What I mean is just because you CAN play as a nude male in a sequence in a game doesn't give a free pass to the disgusting photography sessions you could do in MGS4, to cherry pick one (actually what, six?) scene.

Just because you see its perceived equality (which it's nowhere NEAR that) doesn't mean it's truly equal. "But a guy grabbed a guy's dick!" doesn't make it ok.

isnt this what professional wresting is, at its core, anyway?

Just watched some John Cena videos on youtube... WWE can be really entertaining. It's very soap-opera-y in a way, but still amusing.

No sillier than the ridiculous fighting moves in cartoons

PT's main villain was a house wife that was murdered by a crazy husband.

I kind of feel like you're stretching with the photo stuff in MGS4. If anything, those just felt like wastes of time more so than sexualization of a fictional character to me. It's interesting that you focus on the Beauty & the Beast Corps from MGS4 though. Those villains have a lot of issues well before sexualization ever comes into play.

Exactly... Why couldn't it have been the opposite?

I think if the roles were reversed it would have gotten more controversy for being a big scary man-ghost beating up and chasing a helpless woman character. PT kind of turned it upside down in my opinion, turning the man in to the helpless one and turning the woman into the powerful thing you fear.

Enthusiasm is sometimes squashed in here. Doesn't matter what it's for. Read almost any reaction to my ROH posts a few months ago.

I always liked your ROH posts Alucard and appreciated your excitement their product (Hanson love aside lol). It seems like this board has had an identity change as of late as its been fairly more positive towards alternative products and less snarky towards people. This board is great for me as I get a lot of thoughts and gifs on the Japanese scene, recommendations on UK indies like PROGRESS and recommendations on Lucha and smaller US indy companies. In conclusion, wrestling YAY!

It is a video game. Who gives a shit.

About misogyny? Video games have been driving away women from this industry making it a haven for cishet males that simply treats women unfairly. It bleeds into "real life" beyond just treating women poorly in games. We need equal representation in everything and I feel very strongly about that, regardless of what I like on the inside (I love looking at boobs. I could do it forever.) - but I realize that's a problem.

Will we ever get a sequel to Rumble Roses?

There was Rumble Roses XX.

This shoot would typically work over a jabroni ass mark, if you worked it on Gaming side brother, but you shot the shoot at OT Community. The HULKAMANIACS will sandbag this work like the shoot it isn't. GOODNIGHT

WHAT THE DOUBLE FUCK?

I log onto WWE Network for first time in a month and this place has been infested with 30 second ads. Can't watch ANYTHING without a 30 second ad first. Fucking HORRIBLE.

Getting rid of this garbage after Wrestlemania and that's no empty threat.
