Watching these WWE Vintage specials really makes me realize how much less botching and how many fewer awkward moments there are in today's matches than in matches from the late eighties and early nineties. So many awkward rope moments and weird slams and sells. And the crowds didn't know any better, so they cheered the heck out of it. Now that everyone pretty much knows it's scripted, they demand more from the performers.
I really believe that the in-ring product is the best it's ever been.

To build for their match at November to Remember 1993, they had an altercation at a convention and most of the shit they were yelling about was sex related stuff. I'm not sure why Sherri brought up the Hammer, but he was there at the very end of it sitting on a couch. Joey prefaced it by saying they had no idea if it could even be aired on TV and I would say it was more lewd and crazy than any women promo I've ever seen even from Russo at his best. I mean Sherri flat out blurts out she fucked Greg Valentine for no apparent reason, Madusa says Sherri carried men's balls instead of titles. She also said something about how most women wrestlers thing the back slide is a position on the casting couch. This was in 1993. I'm pretty sure Sherri also said that all the women wrestlers in Japan fuck the men, but I couldn't tell if she was saying fucks/sucks/or kicks the asses of all the men.

Madusa and Greg Valentine were engaged at the time, so that's why he was brought up.
His gimmick limited him. When the WWE became a publicly traded company, they would never push a porn star gimmick as a top star in the company. As silly as it sounds, they take that crap seriously (who represents them, face of the company, etc.). BTW, Mr. Ass never really got a main event push either. Yeah, he won KOTR, but that meant nothing.

Shawn Michaels talks about WM9 for like a couple of minutes on his Mr. Wrestlemania DVD. He said once word in the back spread about Hogan getting the title back by the end of the night, it made all the young guys scared shitless that the old guys were coming back just when they thought they were finally moving on.

Haha, to be honest, I always thought the NAOs kinda sucked. They're not Public Enemy/Nasty Boys tier but I don't consider them to be one of the best of all time as HHH pushes them to be.
They're slightly above Bushwhackers.
They put him in a program with the Rock and he flopped. I think that if they would have let Morley drop the Val Venis gimmick and let him work a program with Rock he would have done much better than Mr. Ass who just didn't belong.

And I was thinking about JR and he's probably the world's greatest pro-wrestling fan. People say about loving this busisness, but he talks about it in a kind of obsessive manner, like, he really really really loves this thing. He is devoted to it.
The only episode of Legends of Wrestling that I saw that he was really cranky was the celebrity one. Usually he is unfunny, but informative, but this celebrity episode is like, he is mad at those people, those outsiders who doesn't respect the holy busisness and so he centers the episode in a kind of weird cult where it is like: "yeah, people loved to see this guy there, but did he loved it? Did he really loved it? Was his love for pro-wrestling honest and pure?"

You're right about JJ, but according to pwtorch (are they even legit? just came upon it during a google search) Billy Gunn was supposed to be the mystery driver that ran over Stone Cold. However, he was such a dick backstage, that spot was given to Rikishi instead.
