Wait, I meant the 8th or 9th or 10th defense not the Mania numbers. You mean actually X-Seven and XIX right?

Yes. 9th win was 17. That was the first time it was really mentioned in more than passing. Then going 10-0 at 18 was a big deal, but the streak itself didn't play into the match or build. 19 was the first time someone was trying to break the streak.

Best wrestler with a porn name: Dick the Bruiser.

So which wrestler's nickname is the best for a porno name? Jimmy Hart taking this one? It's tough to beat The Mouth of the South.

The 8th Wonder of the World (Andre the Giant)

Above Average (Mike Sanders)

The Alpha Male (Monty Brown)

The Animal (George Steele, Batista)

The Anvil (Jim Neidhart)

Bamm-Bamm (Terry Gordy)

The Beast from the Black Hole (Abyss)

The Big Red Machine (Kane)

The Canadian Destroyer (Petey Williams, would have to be pretty niche)

The Crippler (Ray Stevens, Chris Benoit)

Das Wunderkind (Alex Wright)

The Dirty White Boy

The Dirty White Girl

Dr. D

The Dogfaced Gremlin (Rick Steiner)

The Dumpster (Duke Droese)

Everybody's Favorite Homeboy (Chilly Willy)

The Sicilian Shooter (LIttle Guido)

The Face of Terror (Meng)

The Fink (Howard Finkel)

The Funker (Terry Funk)

The Gentleman (Chris Adams)

The Human Highlight Reel

The Human Skyscraper

The Juice (Juventud Guerrera)

The King of Old School (Steve Corino)

Black Machismo (Jay Lethal)

The Man of 1000 Holds (Dean Malenko)

The Miami Pound Machine (Rod Steele)

And so on.

At this point the streak is especially dumb because there's no chance he'd actually have it broken since I don't see any reason he would agree to job at WM.

The Miami Pound Machine is hands down the best imho. Dick the Bruiser is also pretty fucking great. But Miami Pound Machine...wow

I'm probably the only one who sees nothing in Chris Hero
I'm with you. He's a Shane Douglas to me. All hype with nothing to back it up in my eyes. He looked especially bad being next to Cesaro for so long.

I can sort of see how people in WWE felt this way about Punk, though Punk's ROH feuds/matches and his "I'm signing a WWE contract" angle were so good that I believed it in Punk's documentary when it was implied Vince and all his friends probably never watched Punk's work before.

I can totally see going to the Performance Center and seeing this and just wondering why this skinny fat mark is hanging out with the stars.

Cesaro's talent, physique, and push just makes Hero seem like the worst loser and failure in the history of Indie Wrestling.

Wikipedia says Hero is 6'4", he's good looking, and he can work well enough. He was given everything and blew it.

Look at this sad idiot anime fan:

Side-note on a massive pet peeve I have (Randy's a serial offender.) If you're going to wear a T-shirt to the ring, and you're wearing trunks, do not have the bottom of the t-shirt line up with the bottom of the trunks. You look like an overgrown 7 year old who got out of bed.

That's rude, man. What happened to the enlightened Sunflower? More like JRFlower.

What's wrong with Eating Spirit? You think that makes him bad? LOOKS LIKE THE TABLES HAVE TURNED! No more fat shaming!

It sort of just boils down to economics, is there more upside to allowing him to retire with it or helping to build the legacy of a newer star? The problem is that anyone good enough to be able to use it really shouldn't need it anyway.

I think Hero was perfect for a guy who would be better under the WWE style. I think he went over board with strikes and movez in PWG/ROH, but he would have been excellent with his style in the WWE system. I think he could have had the kind of success and improvement that Seth Rollins has had in the WWE system. I really had no love for Tyler Black. He's SO much better within the confines of the WWE style. I felt Hero was the same way and I would have loved to see him on the main roster in 12 minute Main Event or the random long Raw match.

Dood looks so much better in NXT. Seeing him in the indys, I swear he has gotten worse. Either that or everyone else in the ring is just that much better in shape when compared to him.

And honestly, we're all just sideline shitheads - who knows whose bag he may have shit in? We all just assume it's his attitude in general, but sometimes people do some shit that DOES stay on the low down and people never know.

Whatever the reason is, I hope he gets hired back. He'd be a great addition to the mid card.

Kinda doubt it here, given that the explanation we were hearing ("he refuses to work out") was backed up 100% by his appearance. :p

I think so too. He's a lot of fun to watch and it would have been a great addition. I love to give him shit because I'm an internet bully but still. He's pretty good.

Does the Hercules trailer really look that bad? Looks fun to me. No different than any other trailer really. Why are people saying it awful in the thread? What am I missing?

That's the reason we're hearing second hand by marks who just made it up because it fit with their expectations.

If "the dirtsheets are reporting what we're saying" makes you believe their shit then I'm afraid I've got some very bad news.

It looks pretty awful. I think you're missing the Taste Bone in your skeleton!

I've NEVER seen anything in Chris Hero

even back in the days when he was trying to get Punk to do Ironman matches to pretend he was as good of an opponent as Samoa Joe or whatever

Idk, a Hercules movie in general sounds lame to me. I'm not interested in what seems to be an upcoming trend of Greek mythology movies.

The only guy I could see at the moment that could both benefit from the rub and is deserving of the spot is Reigns next year. A big enough name for it to be believable he could win, and a guy who's career would be made by it. Pretty much the same position as Orton when he was setup to break it at 21.

Hercul3-des was real bad.

Only Herculeses that matterses is Hernandez and Ferrigno. Don't fuck with the legends. You saw when Khal Drogo tried to be Conan. Dogshit.

"I hated it before it was cool" makes you the worst hipster. It's also weird to say this as his long matches with Punk preceded the ones with Joe.

Thing is, WWE is extremely hesitant to push someone so hard and fast. Lesnar kind of ruined that.

The last guy they put on TV with a build like that had just one leg.

Lesnar/Angle both showed the downsides to it- especially when they're not someone coming in from a promotion like WCW with lots of experience.

Why do I have to be a hipster just because I don't like a guy? Why can't I just not like a guy? Jesus, I'm starting to see what Bionic and lambda mean when they say anyone who doesn't like someone who's well liked or the opposite is considered a 'gimmick poster' because wrestling fans just can't deal with someone having a different opinion.

Unless Reigns shows some wild improvements across the board then there's no way he should be pushed as a singles star. He has a great look, great presence, and looks like a million bucks when he's getting his shit in. Otherwise he's a dead fish.

If Wyatt can keep the act up for another year then I'd say he'd be the closest we have to someone worth killing the streak. They could get some mileage out of another occult weirdo being the Big Bad of Wrestlemania for quite a few years. Which oddly enough would do more to keep the memory of Taker's streak alive than allowing him to retire with it.

I specifically meaning trying to sound credible while saying "I was the first to hate something" in 2003 makes you a weird nega-hipster.

My guess is that it doesn't really matter how much of a company guy Calaway is, he probably isn't going to agree to job at WM for pretty much any reason.

Yeah, Reigns to me, is very well protected as a tag guy right now but needs some serious singles work before he's ready for main events like they want him to be. That Bray/Reigns match a few weeks ago was not very good at all and the crowd connection was definitely not there.

The crap Reigns and Bray match a few weeks ago proved that Roman is not anywhere near ready to be a singles star.

But there's still very much room for improvement. I say give him a year or two more before giving him a singles push. He definitely has the charisma and "look" as you guys call it to be successful.

"Dude shit" like this is just totally done. The Rock stars in comedies like Pain & Gain that seem aware of that, but then he tries to be serious about it in this.

A couple more nicknames

The Yellow Rose of Texas (David Von Erich)

The Total Package (Lex Luger)

Sweet 'n' Sour (Larry Sweeney)

Stinger (Sting)

Special Delivery (S.D. Jones)

The Irish Curse/The Great White (Sheamus)

The Samoan [Ultimate] Submission Machine (Samoa Joe)

Polish Power (Ivan Putski)

The No Pain Train (Iceberg)

Mr. No Days Off (Darren Young)

And for Stro: Purely Sexy (Michael Hayes)
