Oh yeah forgot about those. I wonder why the flower messes people up. I'm pretty sure you can see them on the map
pretty easy to dodge from far away but close they can be a pain
Also doesn't help that it can be used a lot so if someone is close or has good aim they can make you spin out multiple times and lose like all your coins.

Worldwide is shit because:
Mario Kart DS = snaking [overpowered] and hackers
Mario Kart Wii = NGC pad + bikes [overpowered] and hackers
Mario Kart 7 = Maka Wuhu
This game was definitely more fun a few weeks ago: i just played it in ww and yeah, the maka spammers are killing this for me.
I actually didn't expect it to be this bad: at first only a Metal Mario was spamming Maka.
Then, after we actually played on it... they multiplied. more and more voting for Maka Wuhu.

From what I've seen is he just selects Wuhu every race, and if it gets picked he cheats and then immediately disconnects.

The GF got me this for Christmas and I'm enjoying it very much. So far I've only played the single player in 100cc to get to know the new tracks and circuits. I also played a bit online today with randoms and was fun. I couldn't win a single race but I finished around 3rd or 4th in each one of them.
I might have to add some of you after I practice a lil bit more.

So Online is still without question, broken for me. I've had access to the game since christmas and haven't been able to get into a single online race. This is seriously dampening my enjoyment of the game. Once again, I've put the 3DS outside of my DMZ firewall, I've manually inputted DNS and IP settings and still ... I cant get into a race. What the hell is going on KartGaf?

I had problems with my ISPs DNS. I changed to Google's DNS. try this too.

Yoshi's Orchard - apple-tree farm with a barn
Whomp Swamp - a purple poison swamp overrun with thwomps and whomps
Ancient Catacombs - underground ancient ruins with crumbly stone pipes and multiple paths
Waluigi's Casino - think Coconut Mall but nighttime and gambling
Egg Cup - New character: Penguin
River Rapids - one-lap trip down a treacherous ravine perfect for white-water karting!
Wiggler's Wormhole - a lush, overgrown gully with tree roots, giant flowers and a dark mossy tunnel
Cloudy Court - like the SMG2 level, but in circuit form, and home to Lakitu
Snowman's Lookout - spiral up to the top of a giant snowman -- danger: falling snowballs! -- then glide back down
Lucky Cup - New character: Paratroopa
Gingerbread House - chocolate and candy obstacles in this two-storey brown sugar bastion
Iced Donut Lifts - an Arctic gorge with donut lift transportation to and fro

Battle mode doesn't seem to do it at all, but you'll be cut off for either sitting there or driving the wrong way.
It's so you can't intentionally hang around a set of item boxes and grief players coming around on the next lap.

It's Mario Kart, and I find it difficult to believe that anyone with a GAF account didn't know what to expect beforehand. What you're talking about is wanting Nintendo to make a different game. There are those types of racers out there, but MK just isn't one of them. It gets old hearing the same complaints over and over. In the same way I don't expect Metroid Prime to be Modern Warfare (though they're both played in first-person), I don't expect a strictly skill-based racer out of MK, and neither should you. They set the tone a long time ago, and you know that. Nintendo (very) successfully executed an idea that he/she just doesn't personally jive with; therefore, the game is broken? No...

I said it before, but just because bullshit has always existed in Mario Kart doesn't mean Nintendo had to make it worse than ever in MK7.
I just took a SNES Rainbow Road race free because I got a star on the first set of item boxes and no one had any room to dodge because the track is too narrow. Not only is that stupid and unfair to the other players, but it's not very rewarding when you win like that.

Modes
Grand Prix - Just like previous Mario Karts, this is a frantic race for first place amongst eight racers. Choose between three speed classes, 50cc, 100cc and 150cc and play through the 8 different cups for a total of 32 different courses.
Time Trials - Test your speed on any of the given track. Then challenge others to beat your best time by sharing your ghost data with them via StreetPass communication.
Battle - There are two different battles in Mario Kart 7, Balloon Battle and Coin Runners. Balloon Battle has you each duke it out trying to pop each others balloons with every item in your arsenal. In Coin Runners, racers collect the Coins spread in the battle course within the time limit and the racer that has the most Coins at the end wins.
VS - This mode lets you race with up to 8 players total, with a range of options to customize your match. Choose the number of races, teams, types of items allowed, and much more. Supports both multi-card and download play. Those that download can only play as Shy Guy however.
Online Multiplayer - If you have wireless broadband Internet access, you can link up with other players of the world for online play. You can hold 2-8 player matches in VS., Balloon Battle, or Coin Runners modes with people on your Friend List, or opponents from around the globe.
Streetpass - Head to the Mario Kart Channel in your game to access a ton of awesome StreetPass features. This is where you can share and view ghost data from racers you pass on the street, and even share your most recent Community data to recruit new members. At any time you'll see the 100 most recent players you've passedand if they're online, you can challenge them to a race right on the spot.
Spotpass - Turn on SpotPass communication for Mario Kart 7, and you can receive 20 new ghosts to race per day while the system is in Sleep Mode.
Communities - Join a Community to play whenever you like with groups without having to add them to your friend list - or create your own Community and and have racers play by your rules. Custom rules like only certain items or weight classes.

Mario - The older, more courageous Mario Bro. He's the Mushroom Kingdom's go-to guy if the princess is kidnapped. - Medium
Luigi - The younger, cowardly Mario Bro. Since he cleaned that mansion full of ghosts, they've been out to get him. - Medium
Peach - Princess and ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom. She's been kidnapped by Bowser so many times you'd think there may be something going on between them. - Mid-Light
Yoshi - Mario's trusty green donkey. Likes to sleep on the roof of Peach's Castle for some reason. - Mid-Light
Bowser - King of the Koopas and Mario's arch-nemesis. Though Peach would never admit it, she and Bowser did get married once. - Heavy
Donkey Kong - The great King of the Jungle and protector of the great banana horde of DK Island. Do not mess with his bananas, just ask K. Rool, Ghastly King and Tiki Tong why. - Mid-Heavy
Toad - Royal retainer of the Mushroom Kingdom. Not to sound racist or anything, but he looks pretty much like all the other Toads... - Light
Koopa Troopa - Loyal minion of King Bowser. Um... there's not much else to say about this guy... His shell is green I suppose - Light
Unlockable Characters
Daisy - Princess and ruler of Sarasaland. She like never get's kidnapped, so she's got a lot of free time to waste her money on luxury cruisers and fancy resorts. - Mid-Light
Wario - The obese, yet surprisingly handsome, hot-tempered, greedy anti-hero. He really hates Mario for some reason. - Heavy
Rosalina - The large and beautiful commander of the Comet Obsevatory. She watches over the night sky and takes care of all the Lumas - Mid-Heavy
Shy Guy - Timid troublemaker who works for Kamek, or Wart, or Bowser. It's never really clear. - Light
Metal Mario - Mario, but with the metal cap on. Seriously, that's the best they could come up with? - Heavy
Lakitu - The brother or some relative to the Lakitu who works for the MKGP. See, he's got a red shell, so he's different! - Light
