I mushroomed into the gliding pad, I think it was because of that.

I'd heard Nintendo stopped people from spectating in full rooms in an effort to curb communication errors. Not 100% sure if that's true, but if it is, I wish they'd find another way to do it.

It's their ghetto solution to the communication errors that happened before, so now it just won't let you spectate full rooms.

Now you get the joy of hammering A about 10 times just to get to the screen that lets you know if you're in or not.

It is skill-based with a healthy dose of luck from items.

The best players usually finish in the top 3 every race but there is a lot of luck involved too.
