Someone needs to start a thread: Mario Kart 8 is DEFINITELY 720p/60fps. I don't know how the misinformation and doubt got so widespread.
I made a thread a while ago about how a Nintendo All Stars kart game would be awesome...turns out most of the people who replied said hell no.
Can you picture Samus driving a kart?

Mario Kart 8 is by no means perfect, but its the perfect answer to the terrifying dearth of first-party titles on the Wii U. When Nintendo revealed it was finally making the jump to full HD with its new console, this is what they were taking about. Beautiful, fun and packed with content, Mario Kart 8 is a killer app for the Wii U and one that any Wii U owner would be crazy not to pick up.
Mario Kart 8 will be available for the Wii U on May 30th.
Do physical copies of the game(bought from anywhere) still qualify you for the free game?
Mario Kart 8 review: Nintendo turns kart racing on its head
Ultimately, Mario Kart 8 is everything we hoped it would be. Every race is an incredible orchestra of violent combat at high speeds with cartoon characters in silly vehicles. Its impossible for anyone to look at that with anything but a smile on their face, but its also a charming piece of nostalgia with a fresh coat of paint and a handful of new challenges. This game belongs in every Wii U owners collection, and is more than enough justification to buy the console if you havent already.
Ugh, it's at 88.
Not getting it anymore.
i'm writing an angry letter to george lucas

Mario Kart 8 sits at 88.
This is a conspiracy.

Outside of this, every aspect of Mario Kart 8 is polished to the finest shine: the look of joy as your character faces the camera for a split-second after a boost jump, the way the canvas of the gliders ripples in the breeze, or how the Sweet Sweet Canyon's spectators are gingerbread versions of Mario characters. No detail is too incidental.
Regardless of the Wii U's troubles Nintendo remains one of (if not the) greatest developers on the planet in terms of making games that are a pure joy to play, and Mario Kart 8 is one of its finest. The question with Mario Kart 8 was never really "is this going to be good", because with Nintendo that much can be taken for granted. The question is whether it's the best yet. And, among one hell of a field, it takes first place.
The score is at the top of the article (really small, though). 5 stars.

No worries!Ah, I'll change it then. Thanks for pointing it out.

The Guardian -No score
Edit: Actually, as pointed out by OricWindstar, score is 5/5 stars.
Will it be out for the standard wii, and not just the wii-u ?
If so, i'll need to clear a few weeks in my diary.
Sorry to be harsh, but either because you're insane or a fool lol
I'd also be interested to hear what the regulars from the Latte discussion thread have to say about the power of the Wii U now that we're seeing a little more of what the Wii U is capable of.
Latte certainly seems to be throwing around A LOT of polys for a GPU that's only supposedly drawing 20-odd Watts and pushing 176GFlops, don't you think..?
I would be VERY interested to see if the same guy that had that expensive volt-meter could register if the Wii U is drawing more power whilst running this compared to running whatever game it was when he measured it before (sorry, my memory is failing me so can't remember the user or the game he was running at the time so apologies for that!). I know that he measured things at various stages anyway.
No? They can join you via the friend list if MK7 is anything to go by.Wait, can you seriously not invite friends into a regular lobby? So basically if I want to play with some of my friends we're stuck racing by ourselves and can't have random strangers fill in the rest of the spots?
Pretty crazy that Mario Kart is actually the featured article on the frontpage of The Guardian right now.
The IGN review made it sound like you couldn't. Might just be poor wording on their part. No? They can join you via the friend list if MK7 is anything to go by.
Next step for Nintendo is not another Mario Kart but a Nintendo All Stars Racing!
Only way to evolve.
Wait, can you seriously not invite friends into a regular lobby? So basically if I want to play with some of my friends we're stuck racing by ourselves and can't have random strangers fill in the rest of the spots?
The IGN review made it sound like you couldn't. Might just be poor wording on their part.Or poor reading comprehension on mine.
Perhaps Nintendo finally invests in marketing? ;-)
Have you SEEN Mario Kart 8?
Aww yiss
Can you picture Samus driving a kart?
Don't get me wrong. I am sure Mario Kart 8 is a great game, but if such things appear on a front page of a non gaming publication like guardian I bet there has been some money transfer.![]()
