Mario Kart Wii: 16 players online

Which is more likely:

1. They honestly reported speculation as fact in error.
or
2. They weren't supposed to reveal that information and are trying to write it off as speculation.

¿?

They once stated as fact that the Wii's stand doubled up as a power supply.

I'm going to assume they're just retarded, amateur writers.

I see. I didn't really know they had that bad of a history.

We all stated alot of shit about the Wii that was a fact back then though.

I don't think I'd want 16 player Mario Kart online..think of the lag!! :(:(:(

They'd also seen the Wii version of Zelda, but couldn't publish any screenshots... because if they did, it'd be immediately obvious what the Wii Secret was.

Or how just like the Wii had a remaining secret that was yet to be unveiled, so did the new DSLite have a hardware secret that was yet to be unvelied.

After that period, I quit listening to them (So I don't know what bullshit they've been spewing lately.) But it amazes me they've somehow avoided the filter banner. Personally, I think it's because the mods love seeing the wing jobbers go nuts over the latest ONM gossip... only to laugh at their disappoint when it turns out to be lies.

Amusing, yes?

Their exact wording was:

Doesn't sound like speculation to me...

That said, MK is awesome, the DS game was amazing, and given there are set to be more than 8 players online going by what Reggie said at E3, I expect the details from ONM are likely to be true, they just got a bit of a telling off from Nintendo for spilling the beans too early.

Or, this was all planned to generate a bit of publicity for ONM and remind people MK Wii is on the way.
Oh wow! We've been had.

You can learn to avoid the blue shell... It's tricky, but doable.
I know, the item still sucks though, by lining up for the blue shell blast and carefully timing your boost you still loose time.

Plus what always iffed me about the BS is that in my experience once it was fired it goes to the kart that was first when the BS was fired, otherwise there could at least be some funny moments with the BS...

Problem is, all of those people have to be friends right?

Using friends codes right?
I can't believe there are still people out there who don't know how the WiFi Connection from Nintendo works. It was even explained in this thread.

This can't be considered a small mistake, can it? The text is very clear, there is not a single hint it is speculation. Nintendo should withdraw its support for the magazine or at least have NGamer and ONM merge.

in general, friends codes are for playing someone specifically. But for just a random match up, they're not needed.

This is gonna be so sweet. I predict a mega GAF freind code thread.

That's gonna be reeeeeal fun. :lol

The game is built around the motion-control just like Excite Truck.
And motion control is the reason one bougt a Wii, so no.

Why are you trying to limit people's options? If someone wants classic controls, why deny them that? The Wii is not only about motion controls just like the NDS is not only about touchscreen controls. It is possible to have classic controls mixed in with new controls in the same game.

In a game like this that's definitely feasible, however if it's like Excite Truck then the developers are going for a certain feel in the game and would probably rather limit it to Wiimote only instead of allowing different options.

HEY ONM

GO GET RUN OVER BY A SHIT FACTORY ON WHEELS

BUT YOU'D PROBLY LIE AND SAY YOU WERE ACTUALLY HIT BY 15 OTHER MARIO KARTS READING ABOUT A NIGHTS AND BWII EXCLUSIVE WHILST PLAYING ON THE WII WITH ITS POWER SUPPLY STAND

While i agree with what you say for games with motion controls that replace button presses, i dont agree that Mariokart should give you that option because knowing Nintendo, they probably designed the whole game around motion control. If the tracks were made specifically to adjust to the motion controls, or stunts that use the remote in some wacky way than you cant offer classic controls.

I don't really care about Mario Kart series anymore.
Didn't buy Double Dash, and I don't think I'll be buying MKWii either.

Mario Kart lost its charm :(

in addition to Mario Kart Wii, I'd like to see Namco's two TriForce hardware based Mario Kart arcade games ported to Wii also.

Every time I damage you, you come right back at me full strength. It's uncanny!

I hope they include map pack downloads like nds pack or n64 pack or snes... for this game, I would even pay 800 - 1000 wii points.

Nintendo better do it right if you want make this game a must buy for everyone (even japan).
Mario Kart is a system seller dont forget.

(how about making a thread about it)

MK DS is the most recent (no idea about the arcade ones) and arguably the best iteration. The charm is back in full force, baby.

Ho boy, why did you do that ? Just to hurt me ? Just to give me hope on something new about MK then say "ah-ah" ?

Oh yeah can we ban that Twilight Rockstar twat while we're at it? Anyone associated with that characterless mess of a magazine should be shot.

For the umpteenth time, you don't need friend codes to play online.

To be fair, most of the guys seriously spouting this probably don't have a Wii, so how would they know?

great! Day one purchase.

The only thing to top this is multi-console gaming without internet! So I can play against my family with 2 wiis standing next to each other and without connecting to the online services but connect ad hoc to each other.

THAT would be HUGE!

I dunno why the MP Games for Wii doesn't support this already :(

What's so bad about using the internet for this? Just curious...

if we carry those wiis to a friend, we have to set up a new wifi connection each time we do it! That sucks. especially typing the key. Some of my friends doesn't have wifi, so it is not possible to connect to the internet.
