Nice, so it's an open world racer like I was hoping. Nice to see them trying something a bit different. Looking forward to this.

Looks great! But I do wonder how - if at all - this will get cannibalized because MK8D would technically be available on the Switch 2 as well (through BC).

This looked a lot better than what they were showing in the teaser. Like this has proper AA now, image quality looks great.

Digging the concept. Easy day1 buy if I manage to get a Switch 2.

This looks so sick!

Open world racing game, weather effect alter the game world...I mean, Nintendo would never copy Ubisoft...right?

This was everything I have ever wanted from a Mario Kart title. In fact this was my comment on Nintendo Life this very morning, five hours before the actual event.

"Just inject an open world or hub based Mario Kart 9 onto my veins now..."

One very very happy Mario Kart fan. :)

Mario Kart 9......... Or world has just guaranteed the Switch 2 instant success. And is it's killer app at launch.

I don't like how it looks like but because it follows the same trend of most games and movies of making shadows to bright which makes the presentation look washed out, other than that it looks great, maybe I'll change my mind about graphics once I see on my TV

Planes, jetskies, outfits, open world, this is a system seller for sure, its gonna sell like crazy. I remember BOTW sold something like 1:1 with the console at launch, this might repeat that.

Looks fun. If they fill up the world with cool stuff to do and find it could be awesome. Having a more robust single player experience is something I've always wanted in Mario Kart.

I'm not a fan of the art direction though. Would have preferred a more colorful and high contrast look, this looks washed out.

Looks kind of innovative, liking the new types of movement like grinding and wall jumping, open world could be a hit or miss, depends if there's like sidequests and missions or stuff like that. New roster looks huge and weirdly diverse, those bonefish and cattaquacks are even playable.

People actually wanted an open world Mario Kart? Like seriously?

I didn't like Burnout Paradise all that much so I'm not sure how this one's gonna go. But I guess we'll see

It looks like the best of both worlds with this. But we do need to see some more information.

Are launch games this and Metroid Prime 4? Seems like a light launch.

I think this game looks really great.

Looks fun. Open world kart racing can definitely work as Lego 2k Drive was really solid.

Am I wrong in thinking this could be a switch 1 title? Graphics look very similar.

Well, MK8D is pretty much perfect, so they've had to do something different.

I have never ever seen so little hype for a new Mario Kart but that is probably because of all the negativity surrounding Switch 2.

Weather effects and night and day seem like a great addition. The game looks really clean as well.

You know what I literally never thought of when thinking of Mario Kart?

Let's make it open world.

The most disappointing Mario Kart trailer I can remember. Nearly indistinguishable from MK8D graphically.

I hope there's an actual single player adventure that makes it worth exploring this world. Aimless free roam is pointless.

They need to announce if the physical version of this game is an actual game cart, or one of those download key cards.

This seems to be more like a bunch of normal Mario Kart circuits with an open world connecting them. Pretty different from Paradise, where the "tracks" were just the roads in the world.

Seems like there are a bunch of costume unlocks. Maybe those will be littered in the open world and vehicle upgrades through the normal progression? I'm not much for open world racers to be honest as I think it usually hurts track design and I do think it could limit some creativity (the anti-grav stuff from 8). It sounds like you'll race from one track to the next to make use of thee open world which could be a neat idea to determine starting position on the track.

This man is looking at Nintendo games for graphics

laugh at this man

The fact that it looks exactly like MK8D is a huge letdown. No one is asking for it to be ultra cutting edge realistic. It's disappointing.
Keep eating it up though, you're obviously Nintendo target demographic. Praise whatever they feed you, accept and say thank you.

On the surface yes, it does look like a Switch 1 game, but the Switch couldn't handle this level of detail in a huge open world. MK8 looks as good as it does because the tracks are very contained, there's not much else going on outside the tracks themselves. I also don't think the Switch could handle streaming in the data fast enough.

Ya all we got for a new Mario kart game was open world, which is completely unnecessary for a kart racer. What a terrible concept. Nintendo always behind the times and yet it will still probably sell like hot cakes.
