Man, the hate for cartoony art is fucking crazy.
I would understand it a bit more if this would be an A list title.
But this is supposed to be a fun character, nothing wrong with trying a little different approach.
But why am I ranting, this is Springrolls where everyone just wants Mcdonalds.

So, she draws all of her characters thicker and more ugly than they're supposed to be? And this is a good thing?
Man, I'm out of the loop.
I hear that.
This looks charming and hilarious. I think it's going to be a hit. People who hate on it probably wouldn't like any squirrel girl comic or any comedic comic at all anyway.
It's a different style. Cartoony in the wacky sense for a fun series. If all you get out of it is that "all characters are thicker" I don't know what to say.
Actually this judgement was just from her Tumblr page, where every character has that same, semi-derpy, shot from an odd angle face and unnecessary thickness.
I dunno, there's a difference between fun cartoonyness and different fer the sake of being different, and this is definitely the latter.
"unnecessary thickness". I don't even know what you're getting at. And there is a reason to be different, and it's because it's a wacky, different kind of character whose comics should be used to explore that different side to superhero comics. A "joke character" a carte blanche to do things with you couldn't do with others. So it should be different to be different. It's also great to see superheroes who don't sport personal trainer-groomed looks, but sure enough, one series in a million looking like this is enough to provoke some people who want not only 99% but every one of them to adhere to the same format.
I think that different can look great, and I agree, 99% of comics are pretty similar looking. I just don't understand this new trend of "ugly fer ugly's sake" with comics and cartoons. Steven Universe does the same thing. The art and character design just isn't visually appealing. There's nothing wrong with a little perfection especially when it comes to published works. I dunno.
...that art is really cute, shit.
Okay, you win marvel, I'll buy a squirrel girl book.
WTF is that art. Looks awful
hahaha awesome !
Who made it ?
