Marvel Cinematic Universe |OT| Discussion on released and future projects (spoilers)

Still Alive
Speaking of Dr. Strange, have I missed anything on that front a far as rumors go? Is he going to be making an appearance in Thor 2? Also, apart from the 'political thriller' news with CA2, anything else we learned lately?

I can't get enough of Iron Man suits. The more the better. I also like that invariably they all get trashed.
Seriously, just grab some guys and put them in a room to chugg out suit designs. FOR THE HELL OF IT.

The space ironman suit would prob be in future projects that involve space. Possible
Avengers 2 or future gotg projects?

Maybe they have to ditch the red armor at some point anyway or else he's going to color-clash with Ant-Man (assuming Ant-Man keeps his familiar aesthetic). If IM3 is the last standalone earthbound Iron Man appearance on film, the space armor is easily justified. And if they go the World War Hulk route for Avengers 3 and they make Tony part of the Illuminati (responsible for exiling Hulk), Tony's gonna need that Hulkbuster armor for when Hulk comes back for revenge.

Everyone hasn't read that spoiler for how Iron Man 3 ends and ties into that other upcoming movie?

As for the Hulkbuster armor, I sure hope they use a more attractive design if we ever see that armor on film.

Joss Whedon Briefly Discusses THE AVENGERS 2

Responding to questions about doing more Shakespeare, Whedon says he doesn't want to do another one exactly like he did Much Ado About Nothing. He says that he needs to keep trying different things from a creative standpoint. From there, the discussion turned to The Avengers sequel.

Whedon: When I first considered doing Avengers 2, my first question was what can I do that's new? Because I can't make it bigger....but I can make it better.

The moderator asks about his philosophy for Avengers 2.
Whedon: Death, death and death. (Crowd applauds madly.)

I'm betting that this confirms that
Mistress Death
will be appearing:

What spoiler r u talking bout?!?!? I was just giving my own speculation.

Dafuq??? Did u just spoil it for me?!?!?

I think Whedon will kill off Fury to show just how outclassed SHIELD is by a threat on the level of Thanos. Doubt we'll see any casualties in the Avengers roster.

pffff i dont think shield will even come across thanos. By that time the main base for the avengers will be either Avengers mansion / tower.

Kind of going overboard with all the armors......it's going to diminish the idea of a suit and adapting to a scenario.

In the comics, Tony Stark has a whole crapload of armors.

New Iron Man 3 plot details from Empire:

http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/JoshWildingNewsAndReviews/news/?a=74761

The scene ends with Stark, bloodied and dazed, flying away not entirely in control of his malfunctioning prototype. He lands hundreds of miles away in a snowy field, where, out of power, he can't get in touch with Pepper. Or Rhodey. Or The Avengers, neatly sidestepping that question.

Breaking into a deserted-looking garage, the tone then zigzags again as Tony is startled by a ten year-old kid, Harley (Ty Simpkins) sparking what [Drew] Pearce calls the film's "sci-fi Capra" phase. "We loved the idea of doing something classically Spielbergian - a kid finds a superhero in a shed. Their relationship is not something you would traditionally see in Spielberg, though; it's bawdier, more fractious."

Extremis is a scientific program invented by Hansen and abused by the Mandarin and his right-hand man, Guy Pearce's slimy Aldrich Killian. It rewrites the operating system of the body, upgrading strength, speed and durability to the very zenith of human possibility.

"We're calling it a biological reality and there's a science behind it that allows people to glow and rip apart Iron Man suits," says Feige. "Frankly, Shane was not interested, and we were not interested, in having another armoured character and another armoured character fight. We've done that twice before."

Not sure I like the use of a
kid
, but everything else sounds pretty cool.

EDIT: Apparantly, they're using this guy as inspiration for the film.

Someone on 4chan supposedly has a copy of a production reference guide for Iron Man 3, which outlines the names and descriptions of some, if not all, of the suits that appear in the movie. All tagged just in case but if true some of these are some pretty MAJOR SPOILERS, so read at your own discretion:

MARK XI
STEALTH ARMOR v.01
A derivation of the MARK VI armor, TONY STARK configured it to have built-in stealth capabilities, which allow him to infiltrate the TEN RINGS' hideouts unnoticed.
-Slightly modified Mk.VI, with a dark blue color palette. Red eyes and Arc Reactor.

MARK XXII
LAYERED PLATING ARMOR v.01
Experimenting with various forms of armor formation, TONY STARK designs this armor with the concept of retractable layers. This technology allows this armor to fold into a more compact form, making it more portable than the MARK V armor.

MARK XXIII
LAYERED PLATING ARMOR v.02
Dissatisfied with the previous LAYERED PLATING ARMOR, TONY STARK further refines the armor design into this version. Featuring a simpler assembly procedure, TONY STARK is able to head into battle at a moment's notice.
-Classic/Spandex Armor, v.01 has the horned face, v.02 has the rounded face with a different color palette.

MARK XV
STORED KINETIC INTEGRATED NETWORK (S.K.I.N) ARMOR
Attempting to create a new form of malleable liquid metal that could be configured into other shapes, TONY STARK creates the S.K.I.N ARMOR. Unfortunately, the alloy compound proved to be unstable, resulting in TONY STARK putting the project on hold.
-Looks like the comic SKIN Armor, but slimmer and more segmented. Huge shoulder armor.

MARK XVIII
SPECIALISED AQUATIC ARMOR v.01
Designed with the sole purpose of undersea exploration in mind, TONY STARK builds the SPECIALISED AQUATIC ARMOR. Able to withstand greater pressures than his standard armors, IRON MAN travels deep into the sea to recover rubble from MANDARIN's attack.
-Hydro Armor. Resembles the comic Hydro Armor, but sans the glass fishbowl helmet.

MARK XXXVI
HEAVY DUTY BRUTE ARMOR v.02
Designed for heavy duty tasks that his standard armors cannot handle, TONY STARK creates the HEAVY DUTY BRUTE ARMOR with sheer strength in mind. Equipped with state of the art hydraulic systems powered by a modified ARC REACTOR, this armor enables IRON MAN to take on the strongest enemies.
-A.K.A the Hulkbuster Armor. Not explicitly termed as the Hulkbuster though, since that's not the intended purpose. It's prototype is the Mk. XXII / v.01, and is smaller and more humanoid.

MARK XL
ASGARDIAN DESTROYER ARMOR
Taking into account that Earth might face future threats from the ASGARDIANS, TONY STARK set about designing an armor specially to take down any invading ASGARDIANS. Using the DESTROYER's blueprints stolen from S.H.I.E.L.D's HELICARRIER, STARK creates the ASGARDIAN DESTROYER ARMOR.
-A mecha version of the Destroyer seen in Thor. Incomplete prototype.

MARK XLII - X01
PARTICLE RADIATION CANNON ATTACHMENT
Unable to deal with FIREPOWER's fiery attacks, TONY STARK designs the PARTICLE RADIATION CANNON to absorb and channel TAGGERT's heat against him.
-A huge cannon that attaches to the Mk.XLII's chest. Based on Bleeding Edge's cannon.

MAJOR PLOT SPOILERS START HERE
edit: Removed, for sensitivity's sake. If anyone's interested in reading them, send me a PM.
