I saw Civil War last night and really enjoyed it. Spider-Man and Black Panther are fantastic. All my Spidey fears surround a second reboot are gone. Love where it leaves the universe.

Some speculation relating to Civil War concerning the Vision...

Warning, Civil War Spoilers:

So something I noticed...am I looking to much into this or was this intentional?

Vision bonds with Wanda in some way (you can interpret exactly what way that is however you want, but it's there). At the end of the airport sequence, he goes to comfort/is concerned about Wanda after War Machine uses the sonic device to stop her from holding up the falling debris. He is distracted with her when war machine and iron man give chase to the quinjet...and he misses falcon and shoots war machine due to that distraction. But...was he really distracted?

To me it seems like he might have shot War Machine on purpose. War Machine just caused Wanda great distress/some sort of damage. So Vision intentionally strikes him. Alternatively, it might not even be an act he was consciously aware of intentionally doing (he doesn't completely understand/control the soul gem yet). Maybe it's what he wanted to happen without entirely realizing it. Either way I think it's intentional/not a coincidence that War Machine is the one who causes Vision to become "distracted" with Wanda...and then is the one shot by Vision.

Am I crazy?

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
I seriously wonder what the MCU's Norman Osborne is like

Not crazy, seems like
a valid interpretation of that scene. I wouldn't know what to make of Vision if that's true, tho. I liked the idea that he was distressed at Wanda being hurt enough that he didn't even pay enough attention to ensure his blast wouldn't hit War Machine if it missed Falcon.

That's actually a decent interpretation. It really wouldn't surprise me if this was teasing Vision becoming more human, and considering how Marvel seems to be sowing the seeds of the Vision-Wanda romance, it seems more than valid that, regardless of how conscious Vision was of his reasons, some part of him wanted to hurt Rhodey. But, then again, considering how the whole thing was to stop the Quinjet without killing Cap of Bucky, it might have just been a huge coincidence.

Right this is basically what I'm trying to get at. Could be a coincidence or it could not be. A big theme of this movie -is- vengeance, so...

He should be more evil. So excited to see a Marvel Osborn in th scree. To bad Dafoe wont return
Dafoe WAS Osborne... almost as much as RDJ is Iron Man. I'm sure the character can be done justice again, but the bar has been set ridiculously high.

Anyone read the supposed MCU Leak thread on /tv/? Some of it is rather interesting reading even though, you know... 4chan leaks... lol.

I'll just paste them here.

>Mads Mikkelsen is playing Dr. Anthony Druid in DOCTOR STRANGE. He's the main villain. Amy Landecker and Scott Adkins are playing his followers. Michael Stuhlbarg is playing a LHC scientist who assists Doctor Druid. Dormammu is referenced.

>Kurt Russell is playing Stakar in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2. He's Star-Lord's father and the main villain. Secondary villains include Tullk and Taserface. Ego, the Living Planet, will appear, and they're scouting high-profile actors to voice him.

>Sylvester Stallone, Sharon Stone and Christopher Lloyd have minor roles in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2.

>The main villains of SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING are Norman Osborn and the Vulture, with appearances by Spencer Smythe and Miles Warren.

>Michael Keaton was approached to play Osborn, but declined because he didn't want to commit to a multi-picture contract. Other actors are now being approached, including Jason Clarke and Dougray Scott.

>Mark Rylance has been approached about playing the Vulture and Gary Oldman is in negotiations to play Smythe. Andrew McCarthy is in early talks to play Warren.

>Peter won't have a prominent love interest in the first movie, although he will have a crush on Liz Allan, who is being played by Laura Harrier. Flash Thompson will also appear, with Blake Jenner in talks to play him. Daniel Zovatto and Charlie Rowe are in talks to play Harry Osborn.

>THOR: RAGNAROK will feature Cate Blanchett as Hela and Surtur will be unleashed in the third actor. Josh Brolin will have an appearance as Thanos that leads directly into AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR.

>Tessa Thompson is indeed playing Broomhilde, the warrior valkyrie. She is Thor's new romantic interest. It will be established Thor and Jane Foster's relationship ended on amicable terms due to his responsabilities as the guardian of the Nine Realms preventing them from committing to a life together.

>Villains of BLACK PANTHER are High Priest Achebe, Ulysses Klaue and M'Baku. Andy Serkis will reprise his role as Klaw. Martin Freeman is also reprising his role as Everett Ross.

>Black Panther's love interest will be Monica Lynne, reinvented as a political envoy employed by Ross. Other supporting characters are Shuri, T'Challa's sister; N'Gassi, the royal advisor; Okoye, the leader of the Dora Milaje; Adenbi, Achebe's loyal follower; and Jack Truman, Lynne's handler.

>Casting is still in early stages, but Marvel has already named Michael Jai White as one of the frontrunners for M'Baku, and had meetings with Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Nicole Beharie, Yaya DaCosta and Sharol Leal for the lead female roles, either Lynne or Shuri or both.

>Carol Danvers will appear in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR before CAPTAIN MARVEL, and Emily Blunt is lined up to play her. Emily Carmichel in talks to direct.

>AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - PART 1 will be renamed. First draft has recently been delivered. Apparently set on Earth and centered on the assembly of the Infinity Gauntlet.

>CAPTAIN MARVEL will feature the Kree as villains. Not much is set.

>ANT-MAN & THE WASP will feature the return of Janet Van Dyne and Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne fighting an old enemy of Hank Pym's past familiar with the Quantum Realm, but his identity hasn't yet been determined.

>AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR - PART 2 will be set in Space and feature the final battle against Thanos.

>INHUMANS will most likely be scrapped.

>Chris Evans is expected to renew his contract for more CAPTAIN AMERICA movies in Phase 4. Robert Downey Jr., however, is not. although there's renewed interest in IRON MAN 4 lately.

>Sequels for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, DOCTOR STRANGE, BLACK PANTHER and SPIDER-MAN already in discussions. They're being optimistic, but more reserved with CAPTAIN MARVEL.

>SECRET INVASION and SIEGE are popular storylines that are being considered as overarching storylines of Phase 4 and beyond.

>There is a plan for the potential return of the Fantastic Four to the MCU. However, there are no contigencies for the X-Men, which are unlikely to ever return. There is interest in Namor, too.

>There is interest in the Sentry, Spider-Woman, Hercules, Photon, Nova. the Young Avengers and the Thunderbolts for Phase 4 and beyond.

>Blade, Moon Knight and Ghost Rider are being lined-up for Netflix shows.

>BLACK WIDOW is actually of interest, but likely won't happen in phase 3. Likewise, there's been debate about a standalone WINTER SOLDIER movie.

>There's a running gag about producing a Supreme Squadron movie, but chances of it actually happening are virtually zero.

This level of info dump is probably fanfic tier. But one can dream about a Moon Knight Netflix series.

I'm going to call complete bullshit on that list. Emily Carmichael? Come on, that sounds like the guy took the same-name rumor and googled.

I thought Civil War was Evans last portrayal as Cap.

:(

my dreams are crushed.
Come on, did you honestly thought that Evans wouldnt show up in some kind of way in Infinity War?

Edit: LOL, this list is so wrong, they didnt knew about facts like Mads Mikkelsen beeint Nightmare.

is it a fact? I thought that was still just speculation, but idk

Standard "leak" mixing stuff that's already known with a few rumours and some basic guesses. Captain Marvel is a case in point.

Also not true. We don't yet know which role he is playing. That is just a common one that is speculated.

Also IIRC, Vulture is the only villain in Spiderman: Homecoming.

This was never stated. It was just rumoured that the Vulture would appear in the movie. Not confirmed, much less stated he'd be the only one.

All that said, I don't really believe this list. It's all plausible but there's almost too much in there for it to be actually real. We'll quickly discover how bullshit it is since more Spider-man casting announcements should happen soon and I am sure they'll officially announce Doctor Strange's villain before the film comes out.

There's enough separation between the film and TV sides of Marvel that I'm particularly skeptical about anyone who claims to have significant inside information about both.

Eh, Regardless of if this is true I'm pretty sure both sides know more or less what the other is doing despite being separate. Maybe they don't know casting and far in the future plans, but I am pretty sure TV side knows internally more or less what the upcoming slate is like for the films and vice versa. Film side being aware that TV side is going to do a Ghost Rider series, or whatever, makes complete sense.

I don't really believe they're really completely at war with eachother or whatever either. Movie characters have been in Agents of SHIELD. Agent Carter had direct involvement from Feige and she's been a presence in many of the films (including the newest one). Tom Holland (Spider-Man) allegedly did screen tests with Jon Bernthal (Punisher).

I will say that while I would not have guessed Dr. Druid as the villain in Doctor Strange, he fits the description of Mikkelsen's character much better than Nightmare does.

Giving a big movie to a indie short film filmmaker sounds risky, I know indie film makers are around P3 but this sounds really risky.

Marvel's director hires have been pretty good for the most part. They seem to have an eye for talent, or at the very least, directors willing to submit to some oversight to have their movies fit within the MCU.

I'm not even worried anymore after the Russos, who were known for doing (good) Community episodes and comedies prior to The Winter Soldier.

There's hiring someone like Tim Miller, who has been involved in various projects even if not as a director to do a $60m Deadpool movie and then there's hiring Emily Carmichael, who has not been involved in anything remotely big and has not even directed a feature film (or actual TV episodes) to do a $130m Captain Marvel movie, a project Marvel seems very cautious about.

The only truly plausible thing about that list is Marvel's reluctance towards projects with female leads.

Illness is the doctor to whom we pay most heed; to kindness, to knowledge, we make promise only; pain we obey.
I really hope there is an Iron Man 4 and Captain America 4 in the next phase. They need to position these characters after "Infinity Wars". They also need to bring back Shane to direct Iron Man 4. CapAm4 needs to put some closure to the character, seeing as Civil War didn't progress the character in any substantial way.

Phase 4 is going to be crowded as is, though. Spider-Man 2, Black Panther 2, Guardians of the Galaxy vol 3, Captain Marvel 2, Doctor Strange 2, Ant-Man 3 and hopefully a new property or two.

Perhaps for the newer characters but in regards of the original MCU Avengers, I see IW as their accumulation of everything that has been lead up to since Thanos' appearance in 2012 (or perhaps Fury's appearance in 2008). The Infinity Gauntlet is the finish line for everything else that has been building up to and for vet characters, whatever shit that's been lingering since their MCU debuts may as well end there because when Thanos comes to town, whatever story arcs that are going down, let alone in Phase 3, will no longer matter. Surviving Thanos for these characters may as well be their new slate.

Given how many indie filmmakers have been given blockbusters it's safe to say in many ways it's preferable to someone semi-established for a big studio. Passion for the craft and talent but assumed deference faced with a big studio and property.

At 3 movies a year 6 films isn't crowded at all. Phase 2 was 3 years. Phase 3 will be 4 years. If Phase 4 is 3-4 years that means you can expect 3-6 more beyond those 6 sequels.

The only problem is they may end up with a full blown Josh Trank situation, bare minimum a Thor 2. Anyway, I suppose if Emily is getting the Captain Marvel chair, she probably knows what she's getting into, and Marvel probably has enough oversight on it to make sure it works out. I'm still hoping for Kathryn Bigelow to direct a something, but I'll take whatever.

How likely do you think Thanos will kill Vision in Infinity War?

I figure they need to make Thanos a credible threat, Vision has the Mind Gem and he's a robot, so...

Most of these leaks sound more like speculation based on stuff we already know. That said, I'd laugh if Tessa Thompson becomes the new love interest for Thor. Lady Sif always taking that L.

Stakar/Starhawk is a superhero with powers tied to light and darkness manipulation, being able to make constructs out of pure light, so maybe.

And his origin story mirrors Starlord's in some ways.
