Marvel Digital Graphic Novel Sale at Amazon

Weirdly, I own very little Spidey. Most of the stuff I read was at a library or Marvel Unlimited but it's been so long that I honestly can't remember a lot of the stuff.

Gimme recommendations like I'm new (I own Superior onwards).
Let's start off with easy ones:

Superior Foes Of Spider-Man

The Complete Clone Saga Epic(if only due to the price versus how many pages you get)

The JMS era(that ended with One More Day)which had quite a few good books like Marvel Knights

Venom by Rick Remender

Back In Black

Blue

Death of the Stacys

Kraven's Last Hunt

There are so many Spider books that others here can probably fill in more.

Edit: If anyone wants some cosmic books, try some of these:

Coming Home is one of my favourite Spider-Man stories.
Gonna feel really nostalgic going back to it after so long.

I havent gotten in to comics since I was a teen.

X-men Dark Phoenix Sage

Star Wars - The Thrawn Trilogy

Looking to get Punisher Max and Astonishing X-men

Do I get the whole collected series for both? I think Max as 2 colletcions and Astonishing X-men has like 11???

The Joss Whedon Astonishing is just:
Gifted
Dangerous
Torn
Unstoppable

Ok, had to fight back buying the entire Claremont X-Men run, but here's my haul:

Civil War Series:
-Amazing Spider Man
-Civil War: X-Men
-Road to Civil War
-Civil War: Captain America
-Civil War (main book)

Question, I do see some other tie ins on the recommendations page, however, this is what Amazon recommended for this series. I'd like to make sure I have everything Civil War, so any other recommendations on this?

Wolverine: Old Man Logan (Millar)
X-Men: Days of Future Past
X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills
Astonishing X-Men 1-4

I just redeemed some reward points, so if I wanted to, I could just buy out the Claremont X-Men run, but I keep telling myself I don't need to......

Besides X-Men, what other series in the MU are worth checking out? I'd mainly be interested in graphic novels contained stories?

If you want cheeky, manic superhero action, try Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E. from Warren Ellis and Stuart Immonen. There are only two volumes at $2.20 each.

"What's NEXTWAVE: AGENTS OF H.A.T.E.?
It's SuperheroesfightingexplosionsexAvengersFinFangFoomgiantflyingsubmarinemonstrosities

Some quotes from a previous NeoGAF thread on Nextwave:
"Nextwave: Agents of Hate is on sale right now"
"Were there only 12 issues!? ...I thought there were more."
"Marvel hasn't put out ...since."
"A friend of mine turned me on..."
"Kind of wish I could forget this..."
"Nevermind."

So it came down to a choice of either Spider-Man the Clone Saga Epic or Punisher Max, and it was a really tough choice going for Value for money both seemed to offer over 2000 pages.

I read a few brief reviews where parts of the Spider-Man Clone saga is a bit iffy but still interesting to read, whereas for Punisher Max is reviews are great all round mostly, Spidey was my first love growing up as i had the PJ's toys etc from the age of 2 long before i was old enough to know who he was, but i only ever saw the cartoons/films and maybe a few random comics over the years, i never really got into marvel comics, though i read the entire Miles stuff on Marvel Unlimited when I had it before, kind of moved on from Spidey being my number one fave now though, though i do wish to go back and ready some Spidey Comics eventually

I went with Punisher because many times i have heard great things, i believe i read a small amount Punisher Max (at least one or two issues at some point) and i enjoyed Garth Ennis Work on the Dredd stuff he did years ago, also it's not available on Marvel Unlimited, and if it's great it is something I'd like to read again, hope i picked well, and after seeing the Punisher Movies and of course from the Daredevil Series 2 he is quickly becoming a favourite of mine.

In case the sale ends today, I'm going through my head thinking of heroes that I don't have any comics of

Any great modern runs for Iron Man? I only have Extremis

What about anything involving Apocalypse or Ultron? Anything featuring them since to be related low on Amazon

At that price, I couldn't pass up

One minor warning, while the digital versions of NextWAVE are listed as CMX HD, they sure as hell don't look like it. It's probably the "lowest resolution" comic I own on CMX (it's super noticable on the text, etc).

With that said, it's absolutely amazing and might be my favorite comic of all time. There are some stunning 1-2 page throwaway bits (Machine Man & The Celestials, for example), that will stick with you for quite a while.

Ah man, that's slightly disappointing. There's a Cap run I have that isn't in HD, and the quality dip is noticeable.

No huge deal though, considering the savings.

Directly to the comiXology app? Not exactly since I need to send it to a registered device and that requires that I have the kindle app too.

If you link your Amazon account to your Comixology account in the app, it should just update your app automatically with a purchase.

Hmm, I think originally just logged on with my amazon account. Let me make an account and hopefully that makes this possible. Thanks!

Edit: oh nevermind. Can't do that. Oh well, I'll delete the kindle app once I'm done buying.

So I went to Comixology (first time) and logged directly in using amazon account option.

I've mostly used local library for some hard/soft covers before, bought a couple classics (never read a comic before watchmen movie). But this sale made me lose my will power.

Deadpool Adamantium collection.
Planet Hulk
Infinity Gauntlet
Marvel 1602
Punisher Max (1-4)
Spider-Man Blue
Thanos Quest
Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #1
Vision 1-2
Old Man Logan (Millar collection 2003-2009)
X-Men Messiah Complex

$52 or so.

The Comixology App works great on my K1 Shield Tablet. Usually do full page views, sometimes use the guided. Buy on Amazon...deliver to any one of my list of defunct devices...then they show up in the Comixology app on the tablet.

Only read Punisher Max #1 so far. Born was especially great.

For the most part avoided a number of them that are free with Comixology unlimited. I figure I will sign up once I knock this backlog down. Starting to feel a bit....like steam...games.

As someone who isn't too invested in comics, this sale has been incredible! What's the best Doctor Strange collection I can buy? Looking to spend $10 max.

Whoa didn't realize everything was so cheap. I only have a kindle and I'm tempted to buy alot now for lets say when I eventually own a tablet lol.

Though not in the sale I've been considering picking up some volumes of The Savage Sword of Conan (Marvel's magazine from the early 70s, black and white) for the Kindle. Anyone know how well they read on a Kindle PaperWhite?

Damn, my Amazon Store Card got hit with Fraud Protection, and there's no way to remove it without having the card on hand, which hasn't arrived yet.

Oh well, I think I'll be all right with the 191 trades I bought.

Was Avengers vs. X-Men good? Can't decide between that or Planet Hulk for my free book. When I do the "1-click" will it automatically use the promo?

Ok looking it up I guess a Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is my best bet for a relatively cheap tablet for reading comics. Where's the best place to get one for a good price and I'm guessing I'll have to get it refurb too. Bout to go HAM on this sale as soon as I can get a proper tablet to read all these comics on haha.

If price is your main point, Amazons new tablet would be a great get. I'd also recommend getting your comics now, sale could end at any time.
