Yo can we get Kratos and Sweet Tooth in this please.
I personally wanna see everyone call companies do well here. Being around FG's a lot, I don't think anything negative would happen if Arc System Works got bought out. I don't think it'd happen personally to be honest. The new cope they're doing on the Reset thread is fearmongering about Sony buying Arc System Works if this collab does well (which it will). The frailness of their reasons are:
1: "FGC will riot". Because a company that bought half of EVO, has been investing in EVO & FGC for years (Capcom Cup for example), and just revealed a new Marvel fighter coming to two platforms 100% of the FGC already play on Day 1....will suddenly get mad because of "reasons"
2: "Arc doesn't want to be tied down". Weren't they approached for an opportunity to do this by SIE? If they didn't want to be tied down, they could've just refused the offer.
3: "I don't have a PS5 or PC". Well buddy it's your own fault you bet on a platform of slim chances this gen as your only gaming outlet. Maybe make better choices next time.
And doubt he was referring to being a Nintendo-only gamer
It's been kinda funny waking up to see what the cope would be now that the weight of this game's existence is truly setting in.
I could see them giving similar Capcom-style movesets to certain Marvel characters, like how we saw parallels of that in DB Fighterz. At this point it's pretty much a given that there will be at least a shoto-esque moveset for at least one hero but the question will be who.As much as I am excited to see this game come out, the lack of Capcom fighters is a bummer. No DMC, no Spencer, no Chris, no Darkstalkers, etc....broken characters in a MvC is part of the appeal of these type of games.
Also, they better have a Wolvie in the game and a large cast of characters. Not a fan of the potential GAAS BS potential and hopefully they don't go full retard in that direction.
Excited to see more gameplay hopefully soonish. It does look like they borrowed a lot of the UMvC3 DNA and less of MvCI which is a good thing.
Let's be real it'll be a dummies first tag game with wall break horse shit. It'll suck cheeks like Strive.I feel some doubts after Stive with ArcSys... but it looks cool AF.
I might give it a try, I have to test Gundam Iron Man.
Found the fortnite player.Yo can we get Kratos and Sweet Tooth in this please.
Nah. I just think it would be funny to see.Found the fortnite player.
More of a chance than Gambit, less of a chance than Wolverine. Are we feeling confident our Chad will make it into the game?

I have a big feeling there will be a play test at EVO this year.
I've rewatched the trailer numerous times and now I am watching reaction videos. So cool. So far the biggest gripe people seem to have with the game is its name. Maybe they should drop the "fighting souls" part and just have it "Marvel Tokon".
Where it leaves MvC is nowhere. MvCI fumbled so hard that it gave Sony the chance to swoop in.
Nowadays games require way more development resources than before, which means Capcom's fighting team is too busy with Street Fighter to handle another fighter at the same time. They are also GaaS, meaning a new MvC coexisting with SF would cannibalize player time and revenue.
So even if they'd have resources, maybe wouldn't be a good idea for Capcom to make another MvsC. I assume Marvel also thought Capcom did a poor job with Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, so wanted to try something new in the fighting game area. Netherealm already had MK and Injustice, and Bandai Namco has a gazillion fighting games.
Marvel and Sony are very happy with each other, so partnered for this game. ARC System Works are very talented, but their own IPs almost don't sell. They got super successful with Dragon Ball FighterZ due to the huge popularity of the IP and sold over 10M copies as of two years ago.
Sony's publishing, funding and marketing (which includes owning EVO) will leverage ARC System Works production values and reach a bigger audience, which combined with the extra popularity of all these top Marvel IPs combined will help the game to sell even more than what they sold with DBFZ. It has potential to become the best selling fighting game ever (not counting the different SFII editions, sequels, versions, ports, collections, etc together).
Having this game and EVO, make sure Capcom will put real money on the table to move the eSports of this game. Something that will also benefit the eSports of SF, Tekken, etc. because most tournaments feature multiple games and it's important for proplayers, sponsors and viewers to have multiple important games. It's a win/win for everybody.
This means Marvel vs Capcom will sleep at least for a while, but it would be the same if this game wouldn't exist. Maybe in the future, if Capcom's staff continues growing and the fighting game userbase continues expanding we may see a new Marvel vs Capcom coexisting with this title.
I'm not really that into fighters - I always buy the latest Tekken, but that's mostly due to nostalgia. And Marvel... I love the characters, but we all know what MCU is these days.
But, this looks dope as fuck. Day one. Although I doubt they'll introduce my favourite character, Nightcrawler (yes I know, I was a weird kid, now I'm a weird adult). He'd be both underpowered and also completely OP with the teleporting ability.
Yeah, I still don't see Nightcrawler happening. I'd be extremely pleased to be proven wrong though. The roster on this will probably start out at a minimum of 18 characters and it'll adopt a live service fighting game model and introduce new characters and the roster will swell to probably the largest marvel roster in a fighting game ever. We're talking about years of support in this.
Love the art style. Unfortunately its a fighting game
It has nothing to do with Capcom
Yeah, I still don't see Nightcrawler happening. I'd be extremely pleased to be proven wrong though.
I mean, general pessimism I can get behind. But just as a character. He is not that powerful. Mostly what he has going on is teleporting. And given those constraints, it would be very difficult to make him into a character in a fighting game. But as said, I'll be glad to be proven wrong.Other than general pessimism what are you basing that on?
What an odd Playstation Studios title, looks good but unexpected.
Would love this as a 1v1 game. Dont like team based fighting games
How are Sony and Arc System Works able to do a Marvel Vs. game using basically the exact same format as Capcom's Marvel Vs Capcom series? Surely there would be sometype of infringement/legalities that this production has crossed.
That is most certainly not a viable way of playing multiplayer. and the single player i couldn't care less aboutI mean you can play it focusing on 1 character...

I didn't. Thanks for the reminder though, I've heard good things.Did you watch X-Men 97?

Is this a way Sony is making to acquire Arc Systems ??
Regarding easy/entry level controls, they already mentioned that you'll be able to choose between an easy type and a classic (with inputs) type.Agree totally.
To my shame I've never really delved deeply into Arc fighters - never got Strive or DBZ and just dabbled on some of the older entries.
I've mostly stayed on Capcom fighters and Tekken with a dabble into Smash Bros.
But I'm entirely down with this concept and I hope it's great.
I just hope Sony let Arc do their cooking and don't try to make this a kind of entry level experience to shift units.
PS All stars just seemed like a missed opportunity to create something great because they tried to break the mould too hard and watered down the complexity.
Anyway, at the moment it looks great and I'm enjoying the speculation of the mechanics for it.
There was ALOT hidden in the background ... fun video
I mean... does Chris Claremont say anything to you? I am certainly aware he's a very unique character, from the original comics, way back. Just not sure how he'd work in a fighting game. But again, I'll be glad to be proven wrong, and thanks for the TV tip. Will binge later on today. They showed a lot of what he is capable of in that show. I think he has a lot of unique value in a fighting game.

I doubt they'll go after any of the ones you mentioned.I'd put them number one on Sony's list at the moment. The positive reception the game has received should cement any doubt. A purchase of Arc System Works could start a new era of "Japan Studios".

Arc Systems is possible since they want to increase their involvement (even more) in the fighting scene.
