Yep, never reading another Marvel comic again.
This is hardly the worst plot they've done. I mean...X-23...as a whole...much worse. I actually feel the lead up to this has been pretty good.

Huh?

wtf is a re-genesis?

And fuck whoever is responsible for cancelling the Wolvie and the X-men cartoon. WE WERE GOING TO AGE OF APOCALYPSE, YOU BASTARDS!

X-23? She is perfectly fine. Especially if you actually take the time to read her stories.

What kind of affect have the movies had on the comics, if any? I know Wolverine's always been a hugely popular character, but I don't recall him ever being a leader.

It, like Spectacular Spider-Man, was canned when Disney bought Marvel. The reasoning is still unclear.
The fighting in Spectacular Spider-man was so good. This is just another reason to dislike Disney.

Wasn't there a time when there were like 10 x titles?

Wait, what? So Psylocke will be leaving X-Force? :(

Those are not the final teams or sides.

I could see them keeping Uncanny X-Force "independent" of this storyline, and maybe just making it so that Psylocke is spying on Cyclops' team for Wolverine, for example.

It's because he dosn't like the way Cyclops is handling things. It's been heading in this direction since No More Mutants.

Is Storm just a nobody background character now? And why are Professor X and Magneto followers now? It seems like Wolverine has leapfrogged a bunch of people in the leadership standings.
No takers? :-(

Seems like the MO of that team is to work the fringes no matter what's going on, anyway.

He was pretty much the leader from X3 on.
In, Wolvie and the X-Men series, he pretty much became defacto leader after
Jean blew up the mansion and Wolvie seemed to be the only person that could talk to Professor X in a comatose state but Professor X's mind was in the future fighting along with Bishop and Rover.

yeaaaah..

Wolverine's face... What's going on there?
Not just his face, but the size of his itty-bitty head. Was there an issue where Wolverine got a cranium reduction?

I wish the xmen movies never happened, I use to like wolverine but now am sick of him being the posterboy and taking all the spot light.

Might aswell rename the franchise into wolverine and those other guys.

Because of this?

Nail in the coffin bro. I've been wanting to get back since Morrison left and everything has seemed to atrocious and offensive as a longtime fan of the X-men comics. I have literally read every single main X-men comic from ep 1 to the introduction of Kid Omega in Morrison's run. I read every Spike Seagal thread hoping for a reason to get excited again and all I see are bad marketing decisions and weak stories.

I'm not even trying to come off as elitist or anything, I'm a major apologist. Hell, I even liked the X-men in Australia storylines from the late 80s.

So yeah, fuck it. When I get back into reading the funny books, I'll see what DC is up to.

WTF, that was the best :)
I do not get this by the way. Uncanny X-Force is simply godlike. Read it, do not cry on forums :P

That actually ended up being my favourite X-Man team. Wolverine, Cyclops, Longshot, Colossus, Storm, Psy-Locke, Dazzler, Kitty Pride (was that the line-up? Getting old.)

Haven't followed X-Men for a while but after reading the OP I said to myself: "Well, now they don't even need to justify putting Wolverine on every cover. It's his comic."

Magneto has been soundly defeated and Prof. X had a huge falling out with the X-men due to some awful shit he did. Basically Scott manned up and became the leader when both of them couldn't.

Replace Cyclops with Havok, Kitty with Jubilee, and yeah.

What does Wolverine love in a woman?

Cyclops

Holy shit, this got me good. :lol

But yeah, I don't see how this setup post-Schism could ever work. X-Force is a good series, but that's due to the nature of the team. I don't think "Wolvie and the X-men" could ever be compelling in the long term.

What about the recent X-Men have been weak. i get the impression that most people just look at one thing in the X-verse, then panic and bitch.

"Oh no vampires.

Oh no wolverine is popular"

blah blah blah. Most of the x books have been solid, some of them great.(Jason Aaron Wolverine.) You should at least give Schism a shot.

What was the name of the X-Men event again were cable came back with that girl, that was the first new mutant born? I actually really liked that.

But I still cry bitter tears for Nightcrawler :(

Ha, I'm surprised to find support of it. I remember this was considered the lowest point in Xmen comics back in the day...mostly from comics magazines in the 90s though.

It just felt more sci-fi, kind of apocalyptic to me.

I don't think it's that. It's like how Wolverine and the X-men show came out right before Wolverine the movie or how vampires are popular and now they're getting major storylines in a comic that's supposed to be about mutants. Or how Thor and Iron Man show up in the series around the times their movie is getting hyped. It's all marketing and ridiculous. Back in the day it was about the mutants and the brilliant, brilliant yet simple concept of "mutants = minorities".

Thanks! I shouldn't have forgotten Havok. I like him much better than Cyclops. No wonder I forgot about Jubilee. She was a pretty forgettable character.

It had it's own vibe and was quite different than other titles. The whole mutant racism thing was maturing quite well with plotlines like Genoshia and Mutant Massacre. Australia was a cool hiding place, I never saw it done. It had a very international vibe. Clairemont was still involved, right? Those were my X-Man golden years.

Nailed it. I unabashedly loved all of Claremont's run until Gambit showed up and the art went to shit. Same for Excalibur.

Messiah War was when Hope was born. Second Coming was when Hope came back.

Looking at Greg Land's art hurts my eyes. Why do they keep using him?
this. this. a million times this. it was bearable when he was a cover artist for Marvel, but when he started doing interiors...God, my eyes.

The same stupid smile on every female character.

For more X-Men fun, please see the Astonishing X-men motion comic on Netflix when Scott tried to turn the X-Men into superheros.

I tried to get back into a main line x-men book with the vampire arc. I'm sorry, but turning Jubilee and Wolverine into vampires was too much stupid for me to handle. I don't care if it was part of Cyclops' master plan. It was fucking dumb.

Uncanny X-Force has been good, though.

I'm looking forward to Schism. Mostly just want some awesome recent Magneto stories.

Any suggestions?

Read the last year or so of X-Men Legacy. There has been a pretty large focus on Magneto in that book. The return of Proteus had some good Magneto moments.

YOu wouldn't happen to have an issue number? About to head to the comic book store at lunch. :)

Sorry but i got to say it, this shit is just plain stupid, this is one of the worst drawing i have seen in my life, and about the story, its just ridiculous cyclops and storm are now bad mutants WTF, fuck this, will now download all of the 90´s TV series from Fox Kids and start watching it because this is just plain stupid.

Edit: And still putting vampire, emo, zombie stuff around ..........

And other artists.

He gets work for the same reason a lot of the image guys were popular. The technical aspect of his craft is laughably bad, but he traces attractive people, and his art makes a lot of use of splash pages. When you are starting out in comics (especially as a teenager) those are the artists that stand out.
