New team is raping...Juggernaut, Tron, and Doom. Plus with this new team I've avoided most of the whining I received by playing with Sentinel. However, I did get raped by a guy who did the same shit over and over with BB Hood tossing out missiles and Juggernaut assisting. It sounds so simple, but he timed everything so perfect, and basically ruined my morale everytime I tried to whoop his ass by hitting me with huge hyper's. I'm still pissed about as I speak.

Assist Punish his ass, heh. Abusing assists is fine and dandy but if you're overusing them and not protecting them as the fight goes on, they can get killed before they ever enter the fight as the main character. Bait him into tossing out the rocket and juggernaut, block the juggy, call tron and then headcrush him with your team, heh.

I used to chew MSP teams up with Silver Samurai, Jin and a third because they'd abuse the assist as they rushed down. They'd go head first into a mean Hyper Combo.

I been sick all of sunday and miss this game already, but anyone I play who uses jug support is a very easy hyper combo target, all you need to do is expect when he will use support, block jug and instantly do a hyper combo, if you have someone with a laser attack which penetrates like for example iron man's laser, you will hit his character most of the time as well as the support who can not block, I get people quitting on me because I kill their support before their main character

Yeah, assist punish is really something that be should be remembered and watched for. You can wreck havoc on even the top-tier teams if you careful watch for openings to rip through your opponent's teams. If you can't kill them, then snapping them out does just as good of a job, har.

And yeah, Samurai is a beast at assist punish and with a good assist of his own, really good for punishing folks that rushdown without thinking much about defense. I pair him with Jin's Cyclone Expansion assist (I think it was, it's the cyclone). Watch your opponent go for the rush down and toss their assist out, call Jin to catch them both and then Silver Samurai's lightning + mash the buttons for huge damage. If your opponent isn't being smart, you can quickly the end match if you do it 3 times maybe even 2 if you're lucky. I usually pair those two with Storm to build meter and deal some damage before having to bring Samurai out.

At any rate, I played the game a bit at the arcade this weekend because I needed a break from GVGN. Just doing the commands quickly again took a bit of work because it's such a messy game, heh. Getting the fly and unfly with Sentinel was kinda hard because I hadn't done it in so long. >=|

Yes some odd choices especially when you can just cheat the 200 combo by picking 3 cables or iron men in local, use pad 2 to call player 2's support then use a 3 part hyper.

I unlocked 200 combo by using my team combo just as someone else did their team combo, so I hit all 3 of their players in full force

You know what I'd love in this game?

A "playlist" or online option where the computer picks three characters at random for both players and they have to duke it out with what they "draw". I personally love trying to do well with all the characters and hate seeing the same ones over and over online, so with the ton of characters this game has, something like this would be quite interesting.

i beat it using three morrigans. Just pick a three morrigans as projectile assist and jump around spamming fireballs and assist. When you have 3 super bars, do your super with everyone.

I'm about 1:1 in terms of win / lose ratio at the moment. Been playing very well today.

My favourite team is:

Sonson (excellent range and Air assist, though supers are somewhat lame and easily avoidable)
BB Hood (despite easily avoidable super, it does a lot of damage when blocked. Her projectile assist is quite deadly, as it is slow moving and people don't expect it)
Captain Commando (deadly air assist and has some range, large super but easily avoided)

Beat some jerk who played the Hulk / Juggernaur / Sentinel card. I feel happy.

Son Son is my favorite character. Her giant ape super's fire breath does good chip damage, and you can easily combo into her giant staff super from her uppercut move. You can get people with her wall kick into uppercut into super too, though I have a bit of a problem nailing the execution.

Been experimenting a lot with Jill, and I learned that if you use Jill's sweep move, crouching HK, and summon a zombie, if the person rolls they go right into the zombie's arms. :lol Lots of good mix ups out of that move, since it can even crossup if done close enough and can be combo'd into her launcher.

I'm really loving my low tier team of Son Son/Jill/Tron.

Go to Shoryuken Wiki, find the MvC2 page, and read up on good assist characters, good base teams, and good pairings...And then figure out how you want to play the game.

I love it when I get a Cable who just starts spamming FP. Son Son can run up the wall behind her then kick them right in the head and it goes right over the attack. I did it like four times to a Cable who just wouldn't learn.

I had someone earlier who did the same thing, would try to hit me with FP then viper beam me, he got me a few times but otherwise I was super jumping over him (he would shoot all 4 shots) and just combo his face with my foot.

I'm at something like 79 / 38 in w/l ratio but that will drop very soon as I will start working on 50 wins with 1 character ... such bull but I want to 200 this game.

I was checking the leaderboard for my wins, had someone quit on me after I smashed his jugg at the start so i checked the leaderboards again, I gained a win for it. But I am sure a few days ago I was getting nothing for quitters, does the game give a win if you at least take out one character or something?

I also bumped into someone using omega red, nothing but up throws and was just juggling me like a bitch, if I did get out of it he would just side throw me x_x first time I ever seen that tech but it's annoying, no idea how to get out of it correctly.

I've only played this online twice so far. One win and one loss.

Cyclops gave me my first win, barely. I was getting pretty rocked by a Cable guy but somehow I managed to spam Cyclops single shot thing to hit my opponent enough to where I managed to get the last hit in right before he did his Hyper Viper beam. He even started the flashy animation thing but my bullet was traveling towards him already, hit him and I win!

The next round I got totally raped by this dude who used Magneto and kept doing this insane air combo that I couldn't get out of at all.

Oh well, fun stuff, even though I don't really know strategy and have no clue who I want to use. There's just too many, and I have more fun changing characters up rather than sticking with just the same few. I guess I'm not ultra competitive in that I want to be the best with any one person/group, and just have fun playing.

Although my heartrate gets all jacked up when I'm playing online, I don't know why. Even though I know I'm going to lose most of the time.

I know I'll never get 50 1 character victories, and I'm not sure I can make it to 100 ranked wins. Or 50, even.

It seems better people are becoming more common in ranked now, I like that, but I do dislike that half of them setup such lame scrub teams that at every second of the match they are using blackheart's support / sent's mouth / electrocute etc, I can stand my own sometimes but I do hate those scrub teams.

Also I just noticed, while I have a good win record right now my ranking is rubbish, I use 3-4 different team mixes in ranked but my score is really low, no idea why that is.

And are more people who host causing lag on purpose? 3 times this afternoon I have joined a game where it starts smooth but then lags every time they get me into a corner or start a combo on me, doesn't feel right, no normal lag acts like that.

I got owned last night twice by some guy using a roll servbot tronbonne trio. T. Bonne's assists just tore through me like butter. I forgot how to combat the tiny strategy

Overall W/L at 82-55. Though I shouldn't brag because I'm using Iceman/Sent/Cable until I get the 50 ocv's. I only have 10 so far

Is anyone else having trouble hyper comboing from the left side? Any qcf going towards the right direction fails miserably on the xbox controller. I've lost at least five matches because of it too. It sucks.

I have all the Achievements except for the 50 one character victories... I don't know if I'll ever be able to get that, since you can only get that one if you're dominating a match, and when you dominate a match it sets you up for a rage quit.

I've gotten four ragequitters on potential One Character Victories. It's so painful.

So far I've got 10... 50 seems so far away. And it's hard because I refuse to use projectile spam characters.
