Haha what the hell. The game froze during the search for a player match room. Locked my PS3 up hard.

Anyone made MvC2 gaf chat yet? would like to play. I suck at this game though. Like, bigtime.
Damn, mine froze too.

Classic Backbone. Game is Antarctic in its level of fucking annoying freezing in the lobbys. Gets really annoying. Hard lock ups sometimes with the double-beep reset.

Just got Infinite ROM'd by some Mag-fuckin-neto douchebag :(

Well whatever little cornflake box Backbone has put up to match players off appears to be imploding or whatever from the amount of lock-ups and freezes I'm getting now as compared to earlier before the AMERICAN STORM has poured over us like liquid burning grease.

get anything? I have no mouse on laptop so I wasnt fast enough.

Not at all, I had already bought the PSN version since I was impatient. I was trying XBL codes, but people redeemed them within 10 seconds or something. :lol

So this ISN"T the best version of the game?

Kinda glad I didn't get a code now.
If you mean drop outs and crashes the 360 version get's it's fair share of sticky menu's and lobby breaking moments.

Being destroyed online by infinites. Good times. Also having trouble with freezing/lobbies/finding games.

As someone said before, sign out and sign back in. Its faster than going to the dashboard.

So the demo was the full game and we still had to wait 2 weeks after the game hit Xbox Live?
I don't think the old demo was the completed game since you have to download the new demo to make the unlock key work.

Well, it looks like the PS3 version is just as bad as the 360 version. It's pretty much broken out of the box. Thank god I didn't buy this. Fuck Backbone, Fuck Capcom.

I've had no problems with the 360 version.

Look at the massive bug list for the 360 on SRK or capcom unity. Go watch DSP's MVC2 playthrough. It's playable sure, and I'm sure the PS3 version is playable as well, but the game still lacks polish, and is plagued by technical problems. Hard Freezes, broken lobbies, random online glitches that cause desyncs, the poorly emulated character select screen. This game was barely tested.

The only problem I've had with the 360 version is the Non-Progression (not a crash, learn your correct QA language people :)) where it'll stick onto the blue background of the menu system. To counter this I don't wait any more than 8-10 seconds once it's found someone - I go out and back in each time.

I got my retail box for the PS3 version!

Offline mode is awesome. It's basically the arcade/Dreamcast version minus the cool title screen sequence. The new menu system is attractive, but I don't know why they got rid of the original title screen. Perhaps it was to reduce memory requirements?

Online mode is...well...it's good when it works. Unfortunately, right now, "when it works" isn't all that often. My attempts to connect to an online opponent are only successful about 15% to 20% of the time. When I did play, most of the matches were smooth, except for one which was rather laggy. There was also another match (which I'll get into in a moment) which appeared smooth to me, but maybe it wasn't so smooth for my opponent.

The first three games I played, I lost rather fabulously. I had people beating me nine ways to Sunday, and I didn't have an answer to half the stunts they were pulling. The fourth game I played was really good, the opponent seemed to be about the same skill level as me, and I just narrowly beat him. The fifth game was very unusual, as my opponent started off with some slick, flashy, high-damage combos, but then about 30 seconds into the game he suddenly became a complete klutz. I eventually won that match. I don't know if he handed off the controller to someone else, or if he felt pity on me and decided to throw the whole game to me, or if he was lagging out, but it felt much different at the end than at the beginning.

Also, my online record shows that I have 2 wins and 2 losses--one of my losses went uncredited. I thought that was odd, since I accumulated 3 losses before I got my 2 wins.

Just bought this game on PSN.
It's awesome, however the technical issues are ANNOYING, capcom better patch this shit soon. The game freezes when i try to search for a player match too, quick match works fine though.
The netcode is great, i played someone against the us. (i'm aus) and there was barely any lag at all, and just a really smooth experience overall.:D

hey guys, going to be home in half hour to download mvc2.

Anyone want to play any matches add me on PSN: Mackaveli

I can either play top tier if you want a highly competitive match ( i am pretty decent),
or if anyone wants to play low tier or new to the game and want to play characters that aren't good i would love to play you guys. I love to use ryu, ken, guile, jill, gambit, and so forth but it sucks to use those characters against top tier.

Hit me up and we can play :)

How is this getting any praise? The game is straight trash; online and offline. It feels nothing like the arcade / dc versions at all and things that are near impossible to do (rom infinite with only short) happen all the time strictly because of timing / input / thisisworsethantheps2port differences. I played Marvel at tournemt level for 8 years, used to make combo videos in the early days, brought the rom infinite here and taught soo back in the day (grandpa talk) and I'm sure he'd agree - This is not marvel. Consider this a public plea to capcom - please let this game die and get to work on an mvc3 presentation, thanks.

Wow. This game gave me a serious reality check. I played this all the time back in the day, and I guess I had convinced myself I was pretty good. I destroyed all my friends and held my own at the arcade. After playing about 15 matches online (PS3 version... no problems for me... had one dropout), I realized that I am fucking garbage at this game.

Gio_CoD, that's how it is with me. Most of the players that I've played online earlier tonight were clearly much more skilled than myself. On SSF2THDR and SF4, I can certainly deliver the punishment, but MvC2 is a whole different ballgame.

I don't know why, but I've never really learned all of the nuances of MvC2 (like juggles and air combos and such), despite owning the Dreamcast version for several years. I guess it's because most of my friends also never bothered to learn all the tricks, so I never feel any pressure to develop my skills to a higher level. Street Fighter II was different, a few of my friends got very good at that game back when it was popular at the arcades, so I had to keep up with them and stay competitive.

i'll be home, we should play against each other? i cannot wait to play this game. I think i am pretty good with mag, storm, sent/cammy. I can play low tier if you like using other characters then just top tier.

I'm the same way. I'm probably about 70/30 win/loss on SSF2THDR. It's a slower, more methodical game. In this game it's like the bell rings and the other guy has 7 characters on the screen, there are fucking lasers and fireballs everywhere, I get tossed in the air and can't even see who the fuck is hitting me, and then the match is over.

Wow :(
I think its fun.

Every time I go to 'friendly match" then "find match" the game just hangs at "refreshing..." forever... I take it this isn't what it's supposed to do, but is anyone actually able to play friendly matches?

Actually anything that looks up a list of games freezes the whole system. Trying to host a game always results in nothing, and finding a custom match always says 'no matches'.

What the fuck use is this game if the multiplayer doesn't work?!

fucking Backbone!! Write a decent network layer!!!!!!!!!!!
