Joss had given Marti Knoxon the reigns to Buffy since Joss was seeing to Firefly and Angel as well.
The Marvel movie universe isn't nearly big enough to do Civil War properly. Heck, it's just big enough to do The Avengers.

So somebody I work with and whose opinion I generally trust saw a preview screening last night and said it was pretty fucking awesome.

You guys, having a Civil War story line would be too much right now. The movie Universe isn't well establish to do a Civil War story justice.
And it probably will never happen with Sony holding on to Spider-Man and Fantastic Four considering how big of a role they both played in the story.
Also, I hated Captain America in that story line. It just felt like he was being a dick for the sake of the story and nothing else.

My local cineplex is showing this thing on 4 different screens at midnight this Tuesday. Thing is going to have a huge opening.

It really is. The character designs are a bit dated* but I liked the roster.

"Hey, guys, check out THE AVENGERS! There's HAWKEYE and ANT-MAN and WASP and TIGRA and FALCON"
...and then Iron Man, Cap and Thor pop up in the last millisecond. :lol
Yeah all the impressions so far seem to be extremely positive. I'm still keeping expectations in check because Marvel films so far for me tend to be a little bit worse than the impressions reviewers have of them but I am now going into this expecting a good film.
They're going to be used to help organize civilian evacuations while the rest of the team does the hard hitting stuff.

Solid start so far. Seven reviews means nothing, but having them all fresh doesn't hurt. 8.6 average rating is pretty wow.

All of these films have received decent reviews, doesn't stop me from feeling cold and disillusioned after leaving the theater.

Pretty sure the last time I left the cinema feeling like that... actually it was Sherlock Holmes 2. But before that, probably Shrek 3.

I know Thor and Cap had solid tomatometers, but the average rating was a little lower, and was probably more accurate regarding the quality of the film itself.
At any rate, Iron Man is the only Marvel movie that's actually awesome. Hoping the Avengers joins that party.

Both will do well and be good. But Avengers will be a lot more fun.

Fun isn't the first word I would associate with the most recent Marvel films. I just want it to be what everyone so far is saying it is.
Being "fun" is not mutually exclusive to being an exciting movie, but you'll keep pounding this "more fun" drum anyway so why am I replying.

I also don't understand the 'fun' argument. It is all about which is more entertaining. Entertainment comes in many different forms. Why watch Munich, when I can watch Police Academy 6: Mission Moscow? IS THAT WHAT YOU'RE SAYING MR. BONE?
