Don't think so. Defenders is supposed to start shooting near the end of the year, and JJ S2 starts right after that. Since the latter isn't supposed to drop until 2018, that would put DD S3 two years away as well.

There's almost certainly going to be some crossover in filming between Punisher and Defenders unless Defenders is pushed back. They could probably schedule whichever one they want to be first now that I think about it, Defenders is lower episode count, production on both will probably wrap up early 2018. Doubt Frank'll be full time in the Defenders if he shows up. If Defenders doesn't start filming until 2018? It's anyone's game.

yo i stopped watching around ep 7 cause the long discussions just lost me... should i finish?

i wanna watch jessica jones and luke cage but i honestly got restless watching season 2

Assuming the MarvelNetflix partnership will not end anytime soon, can we expect that to happen every year now going forward?

I can't remember which episode had Frank in prison, but that one had some great scenes. I'd skip a lot of the Matt and Elektra stuff and just watch the Frank scenes.

If you didn't see episode 9, you missed some of the best Punisher stuff of Season 2

It hurts me that the scene depicted in this art never made it into the show:

Huge missed opportunity and what they had Frank do in the climax instead seemed pretty pointless and anti-climactic...I'd love to know the story here. I am guessing it was a budget thing, but it sucks knowing what could have been.

Hopefully he has some moments like this in his own series.

As I recently posted elsewhere, the original plan was:

The last schedule we got was:

2017 - Iron Fist, Defenders
2018+ - Jessica Jones S2, The Punisher, and Daredevil Season 3.

Jones is filming back-to-back with Defenders, Punisher after that, then DD.

Netflix may switch to three-a-year schedule. No reason not to. Puts Cage Season 2 in early 2019.

This would put Punisher ahead of JJ S2, which would mean this is likely the first 2018 show or a new late 2017 entry.

Alternatively, he's filming for Defenders, which is likely.

I couldn't take the fucking scene seriously, he said "y'know" like every 3 fucking seconds. I couldn't stop laughing.

JJ S2 is probably before DD S3 considering Rosenberg is about half-way through the writing process for Season 2.

This is how I see things panning out: Iron Fist is Spring '17, Defenders is Summer '17 (probably June or August to avoid clashes with the big tentpoles), Punisher is Fall '17, Daredevil is Spring '18, Jessica Jones is Fall '18.

Or and here's the crazier theory: Bernthal is filming for the Defenders. Defenders is the next one up after Iron Fist, and it would make sense for Frank to play some part in the conflict that'll then set-up the new status quo for his solo series. The thing that goes against this is that Punisher show is further along than Defenders as Punisher has started casting or rather, cast the main antagonist.

Defenders starts filming this year. It's releasing next year.

Might be for the inevitable "Aw let me be a part of the team guys" where he tries to impress the Defenders by murderising a bunch of people and they're like "Nope."

I don't see the problem with bloat in these Marvel Netflix series. You have access to the entire season at once. I can understand if it were an episode each week. "What?! That episode was nothing but filler and now I have to wait another week to see the next one?!"

Yeah, like I said at the end of my post, having him filming for Defenders makes more sense and they might as well slot him in.

So now we know for sure the Netflix thing Bernthal was shooting wasn't Agents of SHIELD but actually his own Netflix series, right? Glad we can put that to rest.

The Punisher series was announced after that teaser was released. Makes sense that Punisher wasn't in it, and with The Defenders being so far away, it's easy to make adjustments to the story so Castle fits in.

Initial plans for the Netflix series were 13 episodes for Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, then an eight episode mini-series for The Defenders.

But then we got another season of Daredevil, and they announced a series about The Punisher. Though I assume initial plans have stayed roughly the same.

Barenthal could take the material from that and Born and do fucking legendary work.
