It seems to be that the cases are grossly under reported. If anything, China is basically a surveillance state that was equipped to quickly quarantine people and lock things down, and they are at 80 K cases. It may be they have gotten it under control so we may see a lull in the case count over the next few days to a week, and then as all the other countries begin to ramp up it will get bad again. It has already made it to some third world countries completely not prepared to deal with it. This thing is like the seasonal flu x 50-100, and if it gets widespread in the US you're going to be looking at 1-5 million deaths.

I would buy some surgical masks, hand sanitizer, plan less frequent trips to public places (like grocery stores), and avoid travel where air is recirculated. It's possible this may not blow up all the way, but both the CDC and the WHO are saying it's inevitable. The president's behavior is grossly misleading in all this, the lengths some people will go to stay in power to the point they are willing to compromise public health and safety.

Yes? I don't know the specifics off the top of my head, but I would guess there have been. I've seen the "no deaths under 10" repeated in a lot of places, so I tend to believe that part is true.

Babies have fresh lungs. Your lungs deteriorate over time. Fucky lungs are a magnet for pneumonia. This virus is related to the flu, and it does kill the good old fashioned lung inflammation way.

Then the primary deaths should be 20-40 year olds as they have the strongest immune systems.

iran is not not exactly hot right now ( Qom has been below 60F for the highs this month with lows below freezing) and I would not call having less then 100 cases thriving for Singapore at least in comparison to how it's blowing up in Korea and Italy.
