I did almost the exact same thing except I sent Garrus to escort the crew. Going to try Legion in pipe, Miranda for Fire / distraction team and Grunt to escort the crew. Then take Mordin / Thane with me for the final fight

Veteran, but I haven't done a lot of the side missions / scanning of planets yet. I've maybe done 6-7 of the anomaly missions, I have in no way completed the game. Just finished the main story, going to do the rest of the side stuff this weekend.

It took me 34 hours on hardcore. And I completed every quest in the game I could find. I got 100% explored on everything.

that's awesome. the day before my birthday was the release of mgs4 and i took 4 days off of work and did nothing but start and finish metal gear, go out and get hammered, then do another playthrough.

gaming marathons are fun as hell.

The missions are absurdly hard on insane and between the protracted fights and the constant restarting (I am assuming that the game counts the failed missions when you click resume) and the fact that I am pretty slow and methodical, it makes sense.

I'm one of those guys with a monster rig who plays it on a HDTV (OMG BIG COMFY COUCH etc), and it just doesn't make any sense that a 360 port won't include the functionality. It just doesn't feel right with a mouse and keyboard. It's seriously denting my enjoyment of the game.

Nah, I only had to switch there and at the very end of the game - 26 hours later.

Vanguard is a death trap. Adrenaline rush is pretty awesome. Thane is becoming one of my favorite characters in a game, I just find him really interesting. That and he's a complete badass too. Got done playing most of the loyalty missions, they were amazing.

Edit: find the MassEffect2 process under Task Manager, right click and choose Set Affinity. Click one of the cores on then off.

I took the assault rifle as well on my Adept, unstoppable I became (at least on veteran). I didn't mean the class as whole but just how the special skills seem so useless compared to the general ones. I think the only real comparisons would be Pull vs Singularity, Combat Drone vs AI Hacking. Both just seem like a waste of points.

Skills like Slam just made me laugh because I couldn't find a use for the points compared to other things in Miranda's tree. It's like the abilities were put in there because they'd look cool when rendered.

I'm guessing you need to level it up to be able to do that? The only time I seem to be able to Charge is when an enemy is close enough to charge into....can't seem to be able to charge away though.... : /

I got the 360 version, but afaik, all versions have content "locked". You need to redeem the Cerberus Network Access code at the BioWare Social site for the "free" DLC (the 11th character, the driverable vehicle coming out next week, etc...). Other in game DLC like the CE Armor & Rifle and the Incisor Sniper also have to be redeem at the Social before you can download them.
