I'm wondering this too. I installed Disc 2 thinking that the bulk of the game was on that one. Curse my 13.9 GB HDD. Curse it.

That is what I thought..from reading the early reports people were saying they were shocked that it went to disk 2 so quickly, just to find that it goes back to disk 1 to finish the game out.

Can't wait to get home from work tonight and get stuck into this game!

I'm hoping it's going to run OK on my PC, I play ME1 maxed out and it runs fine...

It would really be nice for characters to have more skills or abilities. Getting levels seems almost meaningless. It just really weird to be playing an rpg and not notice that I got 4 more levels in the past few hours.

Should be fine.

WTF?? just got the ending

everyone died, grunt got eaten by bugs, mordin got shot in the face, thane/jack/tali died in the ship. only miranda (how? i sent her to die), Jacob (again how?) and Garrus survived............

how does this work then?
at first i thought the people that you do the trust missions for survive, but then they all started droping...how do you save em all?

So would it be worth playing my Level 57 ME1 character one more playthrough to get him to level 60?

I don't think so, here's the difference:

Level 50
XPBonus=2000 (level 3)
CreditsBonus=30000
ResourceBonus=5000

Level=60
XPBonus=4000 (level 5)
CreditsBonus=50000
ResourceBonus=10000

Does anyone else think the mouse sensitivity is crazy high on PC ?

I have set camera sensitivity to low in the settings but stil...

It actually feels better for me when I lower the framerate by putting on massive amounts of AA :lol

Yeah I actually see no difference at all when changing the "camera sensitivity." I also had my DPI settings at 4000 and I play with 1500. I find that in pause mode 1500 is too slow for pointer speed so I'm constantly switching between 1500 and 4000, but my control panel mouse speed is set to low so that could be why I can tolerate the faster DPI settings. Pretty annoying that there isn't a mouse speed in-game setting.

No. My lvl 49 ME1 import let me start ME2 at lvl 2, with bonus $1,000,000 (for having a "rich" ME1 character) and bonus $20,000 for importing a character, and bonus 2500 of every mineral.

A lvl 60 import gets basically the same thing, but maybe a tad bit money/minerals and you start ME2 at lvl 5. Not worth investing 30+ hours in boosting your ME1 character.

The countdown on Steam is over and the game still hasn't unlocked. Argghh. Why the delay Steam? Surely the game has finished being made by now, just send the unlock command.

You might need to close steam and reopen because that same thing happened to me until I restarted Steam.

Ugh, 2 days and I still can't get my CE stuff. My XBL tag is linked to some other email account I have no access to anymore. Still no response from the web help thing (says they will get back to me with in 24hrs, yeah right). Tried to call them only to be on hold for so long I hung up.

This is stupid, why does EA have to stick there fingers in this shit, was the old way of entering game codes via XBL just to simple for them?

I hate EA.

Yeah, PC seems not to have been their main focus. Anyways, its good you got the AA to work now.

Ubisoft is doing their Ubi Accounts now too. It's a horrible, horrible trend but they are trying to each build up their own communities to try to create brand loyalty and a viable market for their own digital distribution stores.

This is what I want to know as well. I did all of the loyalty missions but
Mordin still died
He was the only one who did. I thought I did everything right.

Why don't you change the email address that's associated with your XBL gamertag? It's easy enough to do.

*Everyone has to be loyal

Tali for tunnels
Garrus for 2nd leader

Mordin to escort crewman
Miranda for 2nd leader
Jack for biotic field

Garrus/Thane for final Party

I used Legion/Grunt for my party in the first 2 sections

There's three Dr pepper items, one is the goggles, another is a hood and the third is basically a visor.

I hate to say it, but this is a good thing, being stuck with Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo is not ideal.

Thanks. The escort was what I screwed up. Should have known better.

You gotta research the upgrades for your ship and your crew. They aren't just there for combat buffs.

The game is decrypting very very slowly for me. Over the last 25 minutes it's gone from 58% to 67%. Is that normal? Decrypting is taking longer than downloading.

Well I think my 360 is going to die soon. Graphic chip artifacts at Bioware logo, sometimes freezes before the EA logo, frequently freezes at loading screens (almost always now.) :(

Just leave it alone. If it's in the decrpyting phase, you're almost there. No sense in screwing it up trying to speed things along.

You don't have to do it this way. I did it differently with literally every selection and had everyone at the end.

It's not based on who you put where. It's definitely loyalty and ship upgrades.

you know, thinking about it, I don't remember any Asian characters in mass effect 1 or 2...

The Guard Captain in Noveria on ME1 (Matsuo?), Fai Dan from Zhu's Hope.

damn, i spent all that..stuff on getting the nuke-type gun and it's such a pain. since it's so big it gets in the way during cutscenes, blocking the screen..and as a weapon, it's just a hassell to get it to 100%..should've went with the one that cost 15 grand :[

YES! Praise the lord. That ATI hotfix works and ME2 looks glorious. AA doesn't even effect my FPS whatsoever. Still 60 FPS, fuck me. BioWare really outdid themselves optimizing this game.
How do you put AA in the game? Using the steam version.

All my members were loyal and people still died if i didn't use them in particular roles.
Moridin pretty much died every time unless I sent him back as an escort, regardless of who else I handpicked for certain roles

For example, when you're picking the tunnel person, they specifically ask for a tech expert, which I foolishly picked Thane for, and he died.

I did almost everything different from Ryu1999 except for the tunnels part, I do think to have everybody survive you have to do the loyalty missions and upgrade your ship and crew upgrades. And I was paragon biased if that matters.

I did everything differently except I made Zaeed escort. Which when I think about it wasn't a smart choice. I'm redoing the mission now to see if I can keep the doc alive.

I don't think it makes a difference I sent Jack!

Did you upgrade his omnitool?
also did you stop him from killing his former student

Recruited Garrus and Zaeed now, and just finished up the Lorek mission. I kept the scandalous Cerberus info to myself. Im finally warming up to ME2's vangaurd tonight, especially now that Ive unlocked a few more biotics and have realized that Shockwave is basically lift+warp.

Ive logged 6 hours now, and Ive been chatting up everyone at every chance, but I have 2 questions:
- supposedly disc 1 is short, so what is the trigger point? I have seen no indication yet of switching
- how do I get the loyalty quests? I keep on talking, and nothing yet from anyone

Snuggles

erotic butter maelstrom
I'm super anxious about
keeping my crew alive at the end
. If I fail to keep
Tali
and
Garrus alive
I'll probably cry like a bitch. I can see myself reloading until I get it right, but at the same time it'll probably be more meaningful if I just let it all play out in one attempt.

And to make sure that no one got the wrong idea when I was agreeing with dark10x's posts from way back - I too think that Mass Effect 2 is so much better in practically every way over Mass Effect 1 - even though there are a couple things I miss from the first one.

Yes. I loved Mass Effect, but this is just so much better it's ridiculous, I knew it would be better but I didn't expect them to have improved it this much. Unless it suddenly takes a turn for the worse, ME2 will most likely end up being my favorite game of the generation, no bullshit.

Added the Mass Effect 2 site where you can take customizes faces as well as upload your own to the second OP page under miscellaneous info, as well as the Mass Effect PC Saves website for everyone's convenience.

Oh, and I'm over 10 hours in now, with some new party members - damn this game is sooooooo good.

Both are triggered after you recruit the initial members and complete a compulsory mission.

And a couple of others that looked mixed.

So after I spent an hour trying to remake my shepard with terrible results
so I just imported my me1 character design directly how I made him and I really should have done that from the start
I wanted to add some more facial hair to my original design but there is no way to do that without starting all over

early impressions? The combat is SO much better then in me1 everything moves smoothly, it really feels like a shooter

Yes and yes.
I left him with the crew that holds the door at the end section.
Which now when I look back at it wasn't very smart. He isn't very battle ready like most of the others.
