EA/Bioware and Dr. Pepper recently teamed up for a Mass Effect 2 promotion that provides drinkers of the soda the chance to win three DLC items for use in the new game. Those living outside the United States are sadly ineligible for the promotion, and players who just dont drink the stuff may simply be out of luck.
As it turns out, I have good news. The keys provided in the promotion are completely static and reusable.
The codes are as follows:
CBEEAAA41NWH
CBEEAAAE4L9N
CBEEAAAFQG9J
CBEEAAAE98ZV
To apply these codes to your EA account and redeem the Mass Effect 2 DLC items, simply create an account on Dr Peppers Promotion website, fill in whatever fake details you please and simply use an @mailinator.com address for the e-mail field. The site will never ask you to confirm your e-mail address. Once youve logged in, simply enter the promotional code and pick No Purchase for each of the three fields.
When youre done, just hit the button to redeem the DLC and log in with your real EA account details, select Mass Effect 2 from the list of games, and finalize your selection.
To redeem the remaining two items, simply repeat the process with a different code and e-mail address for your new DrPepper account, always logging back into your real EA account at the end to claim your item.
TheFightingFish said:Alright, my friend and I finally traded off games for a bit (AC2 / ME2) so I'm just about the dig into Mass Effect 2. To start things off I brought in my ME1 character (female/renegade) and started playing the first hour or so with her. But having done that I'm confronted by a bit of a hesitation as to if I should keep playing with her or fire up a new character. For the ending of ME1 I took the option to destroy the council and coupling that with working for Cerebus I'm kinda put out by playing my pro-human jerk character. So I'm kinda considering starting from scratch as a goody two-shoes male character (plus I could hit on Tali then, which sounds amusing). I know that there is no right answer to this, but for folks who've played though as both Paragon and Renegade focused do you have one or another that you'd recommend for a first playthough?
DownLikeBCPowder said:I did the same thing as you, I was a renegade who was pretty damn evil. I killed the council and placed Udina as the head honcho. I played through anyway, but I'll be playing through again with my Paragon from ME. I'd be playing right now if FF XIII wasn't about to show up.

TheFightingFish said:Heh, I just might not have it in myself to be such a stone cold killer anymore. I tried to do the same character in Dragon Age (evilish female) and ended up just being a vaguely sarcastic do-gooder. Nothing quite like the imaginary disapproval of creepy uncanny valley video game character to make you feel bad about your actions.
Maybe I can save that character for a possible second playthough later.

Also I'm still recruiting people and doing the loyalty quests. Does going to that Collector Ship where you get the above options exclude you from doing something in the game later such as having enough time to get all of the quests and conversations done with each team member?

Free DLC so far is not that meaty but it is decent. Usually other developers charge for this shit. I hope BioWare doesn't screw us like Criterion did with Burnout Paradise (those paid car add-ons). Paid DLC better be really good.

I think it's only possible to hit level 30 in one playthrough if the imported character is a level 60 since you start at level 5 instead of 3.
GuardianE said:Pretty sure you can get really close, but you won't reach level 30 unless you bring in a level 60. When they release some Hammerhead missions, it's possible.
Once you get the End story achievement, you get a +25% experience bonus that applies to all playthroughs. You may wish you actually NOT do some of the UNC quests until after beating the main story so you can get the bonus exp.
Don't think so.djtiesto said:I imported a Lv 50 save from the first game, and am planning on doing all the game's missions (so far, did every loyalty mission, and am doing the last few N7 missions now). However, once you beat the game once. Every playthrough from that point on will get a 25% exp bonus as well as extra resources.
djtiesto said:About to go on the IFF mission, I think I have about 5 or so N7 missions to go though, and I've completed all the sidequests in Tuchanka/Citadel/Normandy/Omega/Ilium.
Hmmm, well looks like I will beat the game, then do the Hammerhead stuff. I was originally planning the opposite - doing the Hammerhead and then going to beat the game.
I'm pretty certain I made it to level 30 using a level 49 import. djtiesto said:Can you 'replay' loyalty or N7 missions after you beat the game, to grind for exp?
GuardianE said:No. You can only do ones you have yet to complete. Not even sure you can do those loyalty missions, either.I do think some non-loyal members can survive given the right choices, but I'm not sure if you can actually even do their loyalty missions afterward
