Mass Effect 3 SPOILER THREAD: LOTS OF SPECULATION FROM EVERYONE

No clue, every one I've seen has been dark purple/bluey. My friend commented on the Grandpa having a robotic like voice in his but I'm not sure if he means Buzz Aldrin's VA or if his ending was different (with everyone being robotmen)

Synthetic end: Joker and EDI spawn a new race of machine-men with fragile human bones. Buzz Aldrin is Joker himself.

Hey, hang on a second, how would there possibly be kids and old people if all life in the universe is turned into robots?

Remember, the old guy at the end says "it's just a story".

They werent killed in the beam, they were following you and were lagging behind. They probably left when they thought you were killed.

This hallucination theory is getting to delusional levels now.

That makes even less sense. The people who've been following you through hell for 1-3 games would not just leave you and not try to complete the mission to stop the reapers, lol.

Michael Gamble (apparently @ Bioware) re-tweeted the horrible, fallacious Penny Arcade article. Take that as you will.

PR statement about mis-aligned expectations incoming.

The thing with leaving Shep for dead is I'm not sure the Normandy crew would leave him. I mean didn't Liara have a whole spin off comic series about trying to get Sheps burnt, dead corpse? And I don't think my crew would leave the fight. They were prepared to die to stop the collector base, why not in the fight for the future of the entire galaxy?

They gave all organic beings circuitry lines, and made all robots capable of growing old. Or maybe they made a robo grandpa for this robo kid.

Kuchera followed by Bioware peeps. That explains it. hehe

Shep was indoctrinated and everything post-Harbinger laser was an illusion.

Lol, I really fucking doubt Garrus, Liara, etc would just leave Shep for dead. They'd follow him anywhere. If they saw Shep eat it, Garrus would go in. BECAUSE THERE IS NO SHEPARD WITHOUT VAKARIAN. /tear

Why would they just up and leave when the goal of everyone in that part of the mission was to make it onto the citadel no matter what? That makes even less sense than space magic.

He doesn't say that at all. He says that all of that happened years ago so all of the details might not be exact. It's basically the fail safe Bioware used in the case they can't take into account all of your choices in an eventual sequel.

Yeah, he never says that. He says it really did happen but details were lost. He then offers to tell one more story (DLC).

I hope when the DLC releases, after Grandpa Aldrin says "all right, one more story" the player is forwarded to Origin's ME3 DLC page.

Its obviously a coding mistake. They probably meant to have the character with you not appear in the endings instead of appearing. It doesn't make any fucking sense for them to be there except by mistake.

Also after the Invasion comics being billed as a prequel to ME3, was anyone else disappointed that there wasn't a mission to retake Omega? It seems there were some missions related to it in the november leaks but they were cut.
You arrive at Omega as it is under seige. Cerberus is attacking Omega as punishment for siding with Shepard.

{TEMP} Aria tells you that Omega is now under a blockade from Cerberus. Since a direct attack didn't work Cerberus is now trying to starve Omega into submission by blockading supply ships coming in through the regular Omega relay. The level's appearance will change to reflect this -- the Afterlife has gone quiet, the music is off, the flashing lights are gone, maybe a soup kitchen has taken over the dance floor. Aria requests that you steal into the blockade and board the command ship. Take down the blockade so Omega can be resupplied.

Bububut Bioware doesn't make mistakes!!! You must've been indoctrinated to think they were with you on that last mission!

I like how everything you do is left even more meaningless by some guy at the end saying the whole thing is just a legend.

"Sorry sir, you have aids...in your cancer"

People have been speculating it'd be a DLC mission. I think it sounds likely but it's completely unappealing to me.

I actually liked Udina in this game. I mean until the whole betrayl deal. Before that, his assholishness fit, because he just wanted to help earth. It's a shame really. Him siding with Cerberus wasn't surprising. It would have been better if he had just remained an asshole who had gotten more species to help just by being a loudmouth determinist.
That's why I think it would have been much more interesting if Anderson was the one who betrayed you if you supported him in ME1.

Few questions. What happens to udina if you don't shoot him? Does he explain himself? Does he shoot someone?

Can you kill Kaiden during that sequence?

Is the dream sequences suppose to symbolize something?

Also, does the iOS game give any good backstory about anything?

They seriously do that? Man, it's even worse on PC than on consoles then, I really didn't think as much of that "stay tuned for more with our DLC!" message, but actively being pointed there for Origin comes off as shameless.

Now that you mention it, it's a good candidate for a DLC mission. They already have the plot and possibly even assets after all.

No, no, I was just sarcastically hoping for it to happen, like how there's a character in Dragon Age whose dialogue tree offers DLC.

He said "I hope" not "It did"

How does the story change when Tali is exiled? Does she even appear in the Quarian plotline?

Also, I find it hilarious that Morinth is turned into a Banshee that you fight. I think for my genocidal run of every death possible in ME1+ME2 I'm going to keep Zaeed and her alive.

Anyone know the name of the song when Legion/Mordin dies, the emotional cue music that I think is all the way from ME1.

Kinda like the one from the beginning of the game, but without the big loud reaper horn in it.

Kuchera's "reporting" of the Cross Assault fiasco exposed him. He's only interested in creating outrage that will get him page hits. This sadly falls right in line with his prior behavior.

So, if the details are lost, i.e. being made up or improvised, who's to say what's accurate/real and what isn't? Again, unreliable narrator. But yes, he doesn't flat-out say "I made it up," I was incorrect.

Interesting response to all of the 'criticisms' being levelled at fans, especially the Penny Arcade article.

I had to unfollow Kuchera. Constant ME3 Ending defense force tweets got old. Seems like he can't deal with people not liking something.

No one, this is why it is a fail safe plot device. If they make a sequel later they don't have to take the possible multiple genocides you might have commited as the actual story as it might have been distorted with time. The only probable canon thing in a sequel would be the fact that the reapers were defeated and that the mass relays were destroyed. The rest is part of an ancient legend.
