Mass Effect 3 Spoiler Thread |OT2| Taste the Rainbow

Wasn't it obvious the synthesis ending was the one Bioware considered the best? You can't get the ending at all unless you have like 3000 EMS. The 2 seconds cutscene where you live in the destruction ending is probably an easter egg.

I would disagree, if anything I would probably say Synthesis is the worst option out of the three, but that is just my opinion lol.

They are just options depending on how much you did in the game, I look at the fact that they give you the Destruction ending first regardless of what you do up to that point seems to me that it is more likely the default ending they were going for.
And you need 4000+ EMS to get the Shepard lives clip IIRC, so I don't see why it would be any more of an easter egg than the Synthesis ending is if we are going by EMS scores.

Or they just ran out of time. ;|

Maybe Bioware shouldn't have had a few people spend like 9 months getting Kinect functionality sorted instead of actual game content, lol.

I thought it was skeevy of Bioware to have Chobot in the game and now, here she is, taking a stance on an ending she does not know. Defending Bioware.

I wasn't outraged over the ending, I just didn't like it. This, however, is just slimy.

She is by far the worst voice actress in general in the game and she has her own model and missions. I cringe thinking of that first dialogue with "I think we could help each other".

Still interesting though that the paragon colored ending is the bad ending. I always found that throughout the three games most renegade options were the most logical ones, but ymmv. Although personally I think they didn't mean it as paragon/renegade color coding, but that they just used the colors so that the user could connect the cutscene with the correct path.

that scene was so terrible that I just denied her, and never saw her again. at least they didn't force her into anything.

The Paragon ending being labelled "BadA" says nothing about the Renegade ending being good. Quite the contrary, actually.

Good ole Jessica Chobot couldn't keep her mouth shut (and this time she isn't licking some crappy piece of gaming tech) :-

http://www.ign.com/blogs/jess-ign/2012/03/29/i-know-i-always-say-it

I kinda wish it had been Diana Allers dying on twitter now instead of Emily Wong.

Considering she is in the game and works for a game site that would be reviewing said game, and hasn't even finished it, she should shut her mouth about any of it.

I consider my cats to have a more valid opinions that her on the subject, at least they have seen the ending.

I'd pay Bioware good money for DLC that added a scene like this to the game.

Can't bloody stand Chobot.

Wow. Getting tired of IGN attacks. Do they want readers?

The one thing to keep in mind about her is she doesn't necessarily always represent IGN. She's a contractor; that's how she does stuff for G4 and things. She's freelance, she doesn't work for IGN full time. Like the whole her in ME3 thing - they probably had nothing to do with it. I almost feel bad for them over that specific issue.

first comment lol

So you haven't finished the game, don't know what the issues are about, and yet you are calling the core ME3 fanbase "entitled".

How about you educate yourself on the issues. You know, use some journalistic integrity so that you at least know what you're talking about.

Actually.... scrap that.

Do us all a favor. Stick to looking pretty for the camera. Go lick an xbox or something, and stay the HELL out of the games themselves.

I can't believe Bioware replaced Emily Wong with YOU. I've seen better acting in porn.

It's easy to forget when she does it over her IGN blog.

Why should you? They contract her, as you say yourself. It's not like they catch freelancers like you would catch a cold.

I love how the gaming media was absolutely silent about her being there. I mean, I know they probably just think it's bad form to bad mouth a colleague, but it's like no one sees anything wrong with her being in the game. What? Mass Effect featured in their April's fools joke as well? Yeah, there's nothing sketchy going on in there at all.

I still think Control is the 'best' ending. If Starchild tells the truth then you are now in control of the reapers meaning you can help repair the relays (because I assume you have reaper knowledge and all that) and can help the galaxy and then, when everything is all nice, go back to dark space and make the reapers kill each other. It might not be the most moral (what with taking control of a sentient race) but it's better than green where you rewrite the entire galaxies DNA with out them knowing or having a say in it. Also, the reapers were gonna kill you all anyway.

Emily Wong drove her space car into a Reaper.

If only she knew there were bigger fish to fry.

Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
I don't get why you would try to attack people based on something you haven't even seen yet. What an idiot.

They cannot afford to call people out. You don't shit where you eat.

Then why is she grinning at me next to an IGN Prime ad? Whether she likes it or not, she's the face of numerous information outlets. More casual Xbox gamers may describe her as the "Xbox girl" though she probably doesn't even get a 1099 from Microsoft.

For me, she's an Internet personality that led to her getting a cameo in a game she enjoys playing. She's also poor at delivering lines in-character.

God I wished people just stopped labeling most of us that are upset about the ending to be "entitled". I think the majority of people (included me) are just voicing our opinion about a crappy conclusion to a great series and not trying to force Bioware to change it. At worst, just incites anger on the fanbase that is paying your salary.

Jeff Gerstmann has definitely commented that he found the whole thing kind of sleazy.

I think the entitled quote is more directed towards people that do demand it changed "retake mass effect" and all that, as if it was ever theirs.

Guess they forgot the old saying that the customer is always right; even when wrong they are right.

As someone else put into perspective, it's hard to believe BioWare had the time to write, model, texture, animate, record, mix and program in a throw away, forgettable character based on a game journalist for IGN, but were unable to design and model a 3D face for Tali.

BioWare's priority management was evidently up the shit, but come on. There's no way the above happened without EA/BioWare's marketing decision getting it's chubby, greasy fingers deep in the game's design.

Wow, the comments are a bloodbath. I really does amaze me that ANYONE at Bioware thought it was a good idea to bring Chobot on. Her character is pointless (Jilani and Wong were already established) and her "acting" is the worst in the series. Chobot is the Star Wars Kinect of the ME universe.

Diana Allers is pretty much my least favorite character ever in a video game. The voice acting is bad, and not even a bad that you can appreciate in an ironic or charming way. Her character model just reminds me of that Snooky girl, and she always sounded bored out of her mind.

Heck, I would have loved to had Jilani come on the ship, because at least I could respect her a little at the end of her arc in ME3.

We know that, but a good majority of the gaming media has seemingly correlated entitlement to anyone who didn't enjoy the ending at all. It's all they report on and it's insulting.

On a brighter note, the track that plays during the ending is phenomenally powerful.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5JvbD2Zc9I&feature=related

It really is.

Everytime I've been accused of simply wanting a happy ending, I try to make a childish point of them being fooled by this music.

What a piece of trash. I love how she hasn't even beaten the game but has the nerve to call out the fanbase. What the fuck happened to not biting the hand that feeds you? Maybe she should go whore herself out more by licking other inanimate objects and get into a different industry.
