Mass Effect 3 Spoiler Thread |OT2| Taste the Rainbow

Galactic Fork

A little fluff between the ears never did any harm...
About the Citadel, I wasn't so much worried about it blowing up, but it was in reaper hands, and they had a way into it from london. During that time, they didn't send in their reaper squads in to get a nice collection of new reapers? They just left it alone while they had it at earth?

Also, if the Citadel housed the Reaper Creator, rather than using it as a mass relay and pop in to attack the people, why didn't they just make the citadel capable of indoctrinating? They could have just taken control of everybody and instantly have control of the government.

Sadly, I'm afraid the answer is because the writers at Bioware didn't actually engage much of their critical thinking while writing some of the plot lines. They just don't think like us, analyzing the plots from every possible angle so that it's tightproof and not leaking all over the place. Because if they had done a good job, the whole thing wouldn't feel like a last-minute thoughts scribbled on a piece of toilet paper.

^ Is that old?

From the sounds it it, Bioware was vague and the audience was civil.

Color me surprised.
I wasn't expecting anything other than this, tbh.

Haha, he uses the Seinfeld clip. And what's wrong with his hair? I hope the clarification destroys Indoctrination Theory so I can feel superior to the illogical plebs here on GAF.
Yeah, his hair was distracting. I can't believe he's so into the indoctrination theory. What a dork.

Basically all but flat out stating DA3 is well in development.

Technically they said their talk would be about 'general ideas, not specific games', but kept saying stuff like 'hypothetically, if DA3 existed, we are thinking of doing X for it'.

edit: My 'redaction' style stuff was from DA2 last year, it didn't happen at this year's panel, if that was confusion from my earlier statement.
I thought they confirmed it last year when they talked about how the game would would be expanded to include several other countries and that customizing of squad mates would be possible.

Soooo, has anyone put a compilation together of everything that's wrong with the game's ending, like all of the plot holes introduced and such?

Cause that would be a nice thing to have.

Isn't it not reading the first post is a bannable offense? :D

I'm kinda feeling deflated about the whole thing though. I think all this mess is souring the universe of Mass Effect. :(

The OP is kinda bad. The vids have dudes with a whiny tone and one of the links supports IT.

Sets a bummy precedent for everyone here.

The thing about IT, is that most people who believe it don't believe it in some X-Files conspiracy sort of way. It's in fact much more logical to believe IT as a distinct in universe possibility than it is to take all of those events at face value. I'm way pro IT, not because it's likely, but because it's logical and makes sense. You can't refute the evidence, even if it likely wasn't intentional on the part of the designers.

Angry Joe is cool =[

And I'm with Zen. The IT is attractive simply because it's somehow way more logical than BioWare's actual ending.

No way is IT a real thing developed by BW, though.

Noo. I am not one to watch 'youtube personalities' but someone posted a video of him trying to interview Geoff Keighley for the VGA's and ugh, him whining about geoff was agonizing.
Haha, yeah...that was a whole lot about nothing really. Some of his shit is way too over the top. Still, I mostly find him pretty entertaining for some reason.

You guys and your irrefutable evidence. :lol

PS: Space Magic(TM) Expanded Cut Edition will be so cool in 3D, don't you think?

Don't you guys love the irony in extended cut.

I think I found him to be a bit okay
cute, maybe, possibly, just a tad
. Indoctrination Hair. What am I saying.

Especially since they were playing with an indoctrination sequence at one point so some of their ideas may have made it into the "finished" game. I don't believe in IT, but I was expecting Bioware to seize on some aspects of it to explain away the plot holes.

Holy crap, ME3 PC is £17 on Amazon. I rented the 360 version (despite having double-dipped on ME1 and 2 so I could play 3 on the PC) because I was pissed off at the idea of paying extra for Javik (thanks for making us pay for the same stuff we got as "thanks for not buying it second-hand" DLC last time, EA) and planned to get the PC version when it dropped below twenty quid. I didn't expect it to halve in price so quickly.

Looks like it's £25 on Origin which made sense last week when Amazon had it for £23. Good job keeping your online store relevant, EA!

@alysonwheel, that's only for you guys in the UK with your awesome price drops. It's still the same price her in the US.

e: It's $50 on Amazon, which is still a lot.

KCox: Ilos - statues of tentacle people. "Are those protheans? Because Javik..."

5:50
KCox: A: "so, we've potentially contradicted ourselves here..." But civilization could be the one, mentioned on Ilos, that had the planet before the protheans did

The thing that I don't get about this is the following:

The vision Shepard gets on Eden Prime (This one) has the 'tentacle people' in it, while that same vision in ME2 suddenly has the Javik like Prothean in it.

The only way it makes sense to me is that it's just another race conquered by Javik's species, not that it's a race from the cycle before them.

Pretty sure Shepard mentions the statures on Ilos to Javik and Javik says that the ruins on Ilos were ruins found by the Protheans.

also all civilizations under prothean rule were know as prothean so that could add up as well.

The OP was created during a specific time, before we received certain clarifications. It was also crowd-sourced. Put in what people asked to be put in.

As for the bummy precendent, well.... that fits how people were/are feeling.

Also: the angry joe website is surprisingly well designed.

Too bad you can't say the same for Angry Joe himself. His style just screams manchild.

Give me some of that Chris Nolan suit porn instead

Did anything actually happen at PAX yesterday?

The destruction of the Citadel isn't actually a destruction, apparently, despite the ending's visual evidence for it.

It's amusing that for all Bioware's talk of integrity that Hudson and Walters don't have the integrity to stand up and admit that they flat-out lied.

I'm interested to see what kind of repercussions this will have on Hudson's ability to 'talk freely' with the fans in the future, he has definitely been pretty outspoken and interacted with the fans a fair amount during development.
