Mass Effect: Andromeda |OT| Ryders on the Storm

iZM1sxW.jpg

I thought I heard that if you deconstruct, it'll give them back to you. Hit the button and it should show you what materials it'll be broken down into and you can see if you get it back.

No option to dismantle. Not equipped.

My PS4 fans are doing their best 'Tempest jumping to hyper speed impressions' while playing MEA.

Game feels like it's held together with duct tape and plywood.

What's the screenshot key on PC?

Print Screen.

And then open up your favorite pirated Photoshop software, click File>New and then Ctrl+V to paste. Click File>Save As... and drop it down into a folder, no not that octopus porn folder that it defaults to because that's where you saved to last, back out, back out... back out... more weaboo bullshit? Back out like 6 more times. Ok, make a new folder here and call it MEA Screens, now name your file and click save.

Now alt+tab back to the game. Actually just go ahead and save, quit, and relaunch because alt+tabbing seriously fucks up the game.

Ok you're back in, great. Wasn't that easy??

Those built in screenshot features for PC storefronts sure are antiquated!

Still using upgraded versions of the Pathfinder armour later in the game because it's the best looking set. Makes you look like an N7 badass in conversations with the helmet on.

I eventually made it out of my octopus porn folder and my other weeaboo bullshit but I realized that the image that printscrn captured only showed my secondary monitor. The game side was just a black screen. Origin why are you doing this to me.

Can someone help me: RE: CRAFTING

I research Vintage Heat Sinks and used it on a weapon I crafted. Now I want to make a new weapon but I no longer have Vintage Heat Sinks as an option and can't craft a new one? Was it really a one time use never to be used again???

As mentioned in the tooltip when you research an augmentation, you get one copy immediately and it opens up the aug blueprint to the rest of the galaxy. Pretty sure that means stuff like random loot and vendor inventories. You can't manually craft them.

@.@ Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. So I just have to wait to get lucky and find a new one? Lovely.

researching them puts them into your inventory.

no you should be able to deconstruct your gun, dunno why it's not possible for you.

The more I'm playing, the more I'm liking it. This slow start works great to me, adds to the sense of discovery. I haven't even been to Eos though.

While I really didn't think Eos was the drag everyone on here was making it out to be, all of the planets I've encountered since (which, granted, is only a grand total of two) are a lot better in terms of the environment and enemies/flora/fauna. Desert planets can only have so much to tell.

Like the pop up says, you get one copy to inventory. Any others you have to get from the wider world. Those augs are only available as loot once researched.

Can't deconstruct in this case because its the pre-order weapon.

How did he get the augment into the preorder weapon? I'm fairly certain I crafted plasma seeking multiple times.

I just talked to my bro in a coma thanks to space mind magic, told him that dad died and the golden worlds are a bust... well that didn't go so well. Here's hoping that I didn't screw something up for the future lol.

How do you like Plasma seeking? i wasn't sure if that's something I should try on a sniper rifle, or if that's the dumbest idea ever...
Love it on the mattock AR, never changed to anything else but it slows down projectiles which makes it bad for pinpoint accuracy. Great for staying behind cover and just shooting in a general direction.

Beam on automatic pistols is amazing.

Currently trying out charging seeking plasma scorpion (since the weapon charges by itself already)

I tried charging plasma electricity with the semi automatic remnant sniper and for some reason it did no damage whatsoever.

Just figured out how to turn on FPS meter in this game, and man - what's wrong with my setup? I'm running on a GTX 1060, and the game auto-detected mostly Ultra settings for me, but even after turning down most of my settings to Medium (and Shadows to Low!) I'm still averaging 45-60 FPS on both the Tempest and
Aya
. Are these just like, ridiculously badly optimized places? I'm frustrated; I just built this PC a few months ago and I can't even run Ultra settings for this game without taking huge FPS drops.

I lied about the first. Kinda' seemed unnecessary to lay that on them. Did look guilty saying it though.

Man, I really wish there was some equivalent of a "shooting range" or something so I could try these out without permanently effing up my sniper rifle. Also, is there somewhere you can read actual statistics on what the augs do? Like, more damage, more damage vs shields or armor or?

Cora: Hey Ryder, I think we should stretch our legs a bit
Jaal: I agree, stop hop out, run around in a circle and get in
Cora: No, um..fine

I had the same thoughts, right now I go to a planet with a forward station that has a research center enabled and save and quit to main menu. Doesn't let me test damage though but materials are so plentiful I'm not too worried.

hahahaha, that's fantastic. I really need to get home and go through some more with Jaal.

Hmmmmm.....

Using the Apex app on phone, i feel like i will be flush with materials also. Maybe i should just say eff it and try some out and dismantle if they're bad.

This game breaking bug that I encountered has me hesitant about continuing the game.

On one hand there's probably a lot of other things I can do. I have a whole other planet available to me. But I'm concerned that when they patch it which probably won't be for at least another few days that it'll be some nonsense like I have to load up a previous save or some crap

Sigh

Does the first conversation with
your sibling
in the Cryo Bay (after Eos) make any difference later on? The options were pretty hard - I actually felt like that was a pretty challenging conversation to "do right," which gives me some faith in the writing of this game, which I haven't felt was nearly as bad as reviews have panned.

Best part of the game so far for me.

I'm an idiot. I only just realized you could fast travel in the game.

You can also save power loadouts as favourites, and quick swap with them mid fight. On PC, the hotkeys are F1 to F4. You can shoulder swap in combat which is helpful if you're rounding cover from the left side. On PC, that's the alt key. Those are my favourite two slightly less obvious features.

I think the implementation of HDR is straight up broken.

Nothing to do with that. Lighting in directed cutscenes can be carefully placed at the right distance at the right angle with the right intensity. When it comes to lights outside a directed cutscene (especially those random conversations that can happen pretty much anywhere) those lights are placed in a more general sense so as to look good at a macro level, and your character might end up too close or at a wrong angle. EVERY game out there suffers from this, including Uncharted 4 despite the model itself being the same in both cutscene and gameplay.

Like take this for example

Anyways you should check out some of my screens

The thing is...you can't switch skill builds only power loadouts. So it's like...yeah I can switch to a Biotic but if I have no points in Biotics who cares?

You might have an infiltrator build for long range sniping and a midrange build for regular fighting. You might be dividing your points between trees. You might be deep enough in the game to have more than 3 active abilities fully ranked.

While the system is certainly limited, and I'm personally disappointed that it incurs a full cooldown on your new palette, I absolutely think it retains some usefulness.

The game kind of moves too fast at times with how much gets thrown at you. You can have a conversation and the follow up "thanks for that conversation" email is in your inbox instantly. I got a Vetra quest involving her sister at the same time I got a DIFFERENT quest directly from the sister.

Given how open the game generally seems to be after Eos, I guess working on appropriate triggers for everything might have been tough, but it feels really silly in play right now (and also incredibly imbalanced as you go from spending like an hour picking up quests and talking to people to several hours until any sort of conversations trigger).

I guess they were worried about not being on the Tempest enough, but they could have easily solved that with either the forward stations having email or just making it part of the menu system in general.

So after all the drama I finally loaded it up and here's my quick take.

The facial animations at times are Yea, what we expected. But there are many moments they are actually pretty good, and there are some really good details.

The actual world looks pretty damn awesome, it's mass effect through and through. In 4k especially it simply looks really clean and I like that. It makes me more excited to dive in.

I feel the game is going to be decent once you come to grips with a few janky face animations and voiceovers.
