Kodaka's anticipated full 3D detective ADV, Master Detective Archive: Raincode (formerly Enigma Archives: Raincode) got its first gameplay reveal at today's Nintendo Direct. Here's all the info and media that's come out today:
(Japanese trailer is better quality, NOA's YT channel still doesn't have the individual clip uploaded for some reason so english is stuck with stream quality for now)
From what can be seen in the trailer it looks like a familiar mix of deduction based puzzles and minigames similar to the ones in Danganronpa. I'm curious to see what new mechanics may arise from the supernatural themes, there's certainly a lot of opportunity there to use spiritual senses and whatnot. Art direction feels like Danganronpa with an urban fantasy/occult tinge, which has it feeling very reminiscent of Persona. But I don't consider that a bad thing. I'm eager to see what SpikeChun/Kodaka & Co have cooked up for this game seeing as it's been in development for 4/5 years. Looks cool so far.
