I didnt liked the game. It was made for a cover system but not for shooting dodge so it ended up to be Gears of Payne for me. And overall the writing was bland and dump as fuck. R* should focus on making open world games and not games like Max Payne.

The Favela/Hotel/Airport was more COD than i thought it would be.

That's not all that is ruining the player base. Having lobbies separated by your XP level can ruin it too. Newcomers don't get to try everything and some people might not find what they're looking for in the lobbies available to them. Look at how many people are in each lobby as you scroll through the list, the further down you go, the less people playing.

Surely there is a better way to leave lobbies locked, like, I dunno, maybe have a few locked till people have finished the game or something, something, anything, but not the way it is.

This might be one of the reasons why some of us couldn't join you MMaRsu, perhaps you were inviting us into a lobby that we hadn't unlocked yet? I know I've been getting into other games all day long.

No the enemies aren't endless, and I never felt like I was being pushed along so I don't know what that comment means. I read there are areas where you can fail if you don't keep moving, but I did a good amount of "sightseeing" in my 10 hours and never encountered any of it.

Think I've encountered two of those sections, the first one is very early in the game within the second or third scene, the one in the night club.

After you dodge dive through the VIP window down to the dance floor. You only have a min or so to get up the stairs to pass the checkpoint.

There was another too, in the first Chapter but can't remember.

An issue I have with the game, and a lot of other games too when you're rewarded with exploration, is when you go to look in a certain area and the game takes over control of your character, pushing you into the next section. Sometimes I haven't finished looking around, but I feel I don't get the chance in some instances.

Finally got a chance to play disc 2 (360), powered through it in one night. Great great game missed half the collectibles as you'd be in combat and can't grab um then like others said the game shoves you ahead.. Oh well no biggie, 11 hours of fun is enough for me now on to the next! MP is blah but SP is my favorite game of 2012 so far.

You can shootdodge and bullet time in multiplayer. And it works. Properly. And pistols are beast. And Gang Wars is fun. What more do you need?

And aside from the Paranoia burst, they aren't really that bad, and even that burst can be countered if you have a class with ID Cards.

Really satisfying to gain control of Max and then have bullet-time and dual weapons. Got a great sense of tension when I realised everyone else in the game was now coming after me.

Need to put more time into the MP though, yet to really hook me.

And I've played enough games and seen enough footage to know, rock, scissor, paper bullshit mechanics in games is the work of Beelzebub himself. It doesn't belong in multiplayer games, it needs to pack its shit and get on a ferry out of this world. Even worse when developers don't provide playlists without this stuff.

They need to addess the the lag and balance some of the weapons before people bail on it. Also fuck soft lock more people playing that than free aim means the player base will get smaller and smaller in the mode i like to play.

The unique hook is bullettime and shootdodging. Very satisfying

That's mechanics that give you a quick situational advantage which can then be countered in some situations if you hit the right button, have the right counter-mechanic or do something special.

It's truly horrible when there is a counter, it's even worse when it's quick iAdvantage buttons that can't be countered.

The worst part is the 'on drugs' effect in the cutscenes. It's SO annoying and never goes away. Who the hell thought that this would be a good idea?

Yep, every chapter has 1 or 2 non-skippable cutscenes too. Great way to mask loading times, but watching a minute long cutscene every chapter gets old fast. The shorter ones can be skipped though.

I hope the PC version loads quicker.

I rented the game from Gamefly to tide me over until PC release...i can't wait. I think I am up to Chapter V and it is so good. Very curious to see how the PC version will run as I have a more than capable PC that should be able to max it out.

I can easily deny that but I'm hoping MP3 is much better. I think my expectations for this game are more in check this time. I'm actually expecting an ultra linear game with too many cutscenes (like the popular FPS in 2010 picture) and I'm adjusting myself accordingly. Hopefully it won't be as boring as most of those types of games are.

I've started my NYM run-through. I don't know if I'll do NYMH since one try seems a bit ridiculous.

So far having finished the game on hard I definitely feel like I've really learned how to play the game effectively; flying through these first levels without much trouble (though the difficulty itself on NYM can't be set to hard).

Just booted up, presented with New Patch Alert (1.02), download and boot up the game. Jump straight to multiplayer, get presented with the message in the image above. Go and check the parenting level and it is still at the same setting. Just turned off Parental Controls, will try again.

Didn't work. Now to try and set it to the highest number (Lowest is strictest setting).

Still didn't work. Checked game information and it says MP3 is Level 9 and I had the settings set to Level 11. Wonder if the patch broke it or something?
